Elon Musk’s Tesla to Cover Travel Costs

Elon Musk’s Tesla is covering travel costs for employees who get out-of-state abortions, joining the ranks of several other companies that have introduced similar reimbursement policies in the wake of multiple states passing pro-life legislation. Since 2021, Tesla has expanded its “Safety Net” program and health insurance offering to include “travel and lodging support for those who may need to seek healthcare services that are unavailable in their home state,” according to the company’s “Impact Report,” released Friday. The electric car maker officially moved its corporate headquarters from California to Texas last year.

Not surprised. Still appreciate his free speech stand and hope he continues to scare the pants off the left for that, but I never made the mistake of building him up as a conservative hero. He never was and never will be.

Maybe he's thinking of what the women go through to get to that decision. If his insurance coverage for his employees covers abortion, then it sounds reasonable to allow for the cost to get to one. Okay, let me have it.

I don’t like this trend of corporations essentially virtue signaling by funding abortions. We have for all intents and purposes slid into an oligarchy which is just too cozy a relationship with government to suit the majority of Americans. While this policy may please the pro-choice among them, it greatly offends their employees who are pro-life not to mention their customers who do not support abortion. I can remember few companies if any ever coming out in favor of a conservative policy. Musk and his ilk who want to support infanticide, are wrong to get involved in this hot button issue as a company policy. They do this because they know conservatives are not like leftists who will dox them, harass them, and violently protest against them. Bullying these companies into submission is the demented left’s standard operating procedure. The marketplace should not be in the business of politics. It is just bad decision making. However, it does fulfill the need to be accepted by the only group that matters to them, the unhinged leftists. Decency and a basic right to life means little them as long as they are accepted by their leftist peers. I will take note of these companies and make decisions accordingly. Since they chose to support abortion, I have a right to spend my money elsewhere and I will.

Everyone seems to think that ending Roe vs Wade ends abortion, it doesn’t it just takes it back to the states. There are red states and their are blue. Governors and Senators of those states will use this as part of their platforms when they run for election. Does anyone think for one minute that California, Washington, Oregon, Minnesota, New York, etc etc will stop aborting babies? This practice will never stop. It’s sad but it’s the truth.

Elon Musk isn’t our savior. His supporting abortion is definitely evil. His supporting free speech is laudable. So he’s kind of a mixed bag. So is Donald Trump. So we shouldn’t be hero worshiping either man. However, I’ll take them as flawed leaders over the entirely evil leftists we have in charge now.

What changed with HIPPA? When I was a manager at an aerospace corp we were told employee health issues were none of the corporation's business. Perhaps abortion really isn't a "health" issue after all - at least not for the "birthing person"

After crossing the Slovakian border, Biden traveled to the western city of Uzhhorod where she met Olena Zelenska, Ukraine’s first lady at a school. “I thought it was important to show the Ukrainian people that this war has to stop, and this war has been brutal, and that the people of the United States stand with the people of Ukraine,” Biden said. Things are growing more and more dangerous after a draft opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade was leaked. Several of the Justices’ have been doxxed, and now protesters are gathering in front of their homes, attempting to pressure them to uphold the supposed “right” to the barbaric practice of abortion. Videos show pro-abortion fanatics gathering at the homes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh. At one point, the video shows a coat hanger drawn in pink on the street, an obvious allusion to the common left-wing trope that women will get “back alley” abortions if they aren’t allowed to legally kill their children. There’s very little evidence that’s true

Republicans are on a roll nationwide and it doesn’t appear they’ll lose that luck anytime soon. Not only is the GOP maintaining its lead in the generic congressional ballot, but surveys from several key states show Republicans losing little ground to Democrats. But if you really want to know what the political landscape in the states is, just look at what the other party is doing. And Democrats — so optimistic when Biden took office — are now pulling back and regrouping, and lowering their expectations for gains in state legislatures, as the party suffers from its association with Joe Biden.

The 148th Kentucky Derby went off under gray skies on a track that wasn't nearly as soaked as conditions had forecast, and for almost all of the race, the favorites ran as predicted. But in the final few paces of the race, Rich Strike cut to the inside to beat two favorites, Zandon and Epicenter, to win the race. Rich Strike, entered only when Ethereal Road scratched out Friday morning, is one of the longest-odds horses ever to win the race. Epicenter placed second, and Zandon finished third.

Grab the popcorn — looks like the woke folks at Twitter are going to have to start looking for some new jobs. According to a plan that Elon Musk has reportedly laid out for investors, he intends to be the temporary CEO once he takes control and to can 1,000 staffers right away. Ultimately, he’s going to add more people, to the company, mostly engineering people over three years. It doesn’t sound like they’re going to be hiring more content moderation people (otherwise known as censors). Musk has previously said that he intends to cut the salaries of the Twitter board, which would save another $3 million.

Elon Musk cast Twitter’s future into uncertainty when he made a successful $44 billion bid to acquire the company last month. He will take over as temporary CEO once the deal is complete, CNBC reported Thursday morning. While countless Musk fans, and a slight majority of Americans—59%—approve of the takeover according to recent data from The Harris Poll, some current Twitter staff worry that it will dramatically change the company’s culture, and overall direction. It’s still unclear how a Musk-run Twitter might impact the company’s ability to retain current staff and recruit new employees.

Bill Maher took on abortion during the panel discussion on his “Real Time” show on Friday night, and, while he is pro-choice, he blew up a lot of the narrative being pushed by the left in the wake of the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion — that somehow the opinion would make abortion go away and that the decision, if it held, could lead to infringements on rights such as interracial marriage. Joe Biden even lied and claimed that the draft opinion could lead to LGBTQ kids being segregated from other kids in the classroom. Maher brought a little sanity back into the discussion, noting that in some other places
