How do you end up caught off-guard, as WaPo says Team Biden was, by a Supreme Court ruling?
Did they somehow miss the news that hearings were held in the Dobbs case six months ago? Did they … not anticipate that a 6-3 conservative Court might seize the opportunity to overturn Roe?
The Biden White House seems forever late in responding to events. They were still pushing Build Back Better last fall after public anxiety over inflation had begun to rise. Stephen Breyer’s retirement seemed all but assured this year given the electoral reality of the midterms yet it still took Biden and his crew weeks to interview candidates before settling

This is about WHO DECIDES if abortion is legal or not.
If passed by the Supreme Court that decision will go back to the states where
the legality of abortion will be decided at the state level by that states voters and not
at the Federal by fiat.
THAT is what this is all about.
There are those who feel the court overstepped its bounds in the first place by making
the decision a Federal issue.
Abortion was legal in several states BEFORE Row vs. Wade.
But if the left can't LIE about what the legal aspects of this are are, how are they supposed to
keep the women who want to murder their children stirred up and clamoring.
Here's a suggestion, keep your knees together !

It is the M.O. of the incompetent Harris-Biden administration; being caught off-guard by predictable events.

The Party of Death has had 50 years to codify Roe into federal law. They either dismissed their opponents or were just too lazy to try. I'll bet the latter. Whether it was hubris or sloth they only kept the court arrow in their quiver, and now they face a foe that has been spiritually rearming for a half century. Pity the fools.

According to the constitution, all this ruling does is send it back to the states. The Left wants national abortion, but a growing number of people are becoming against abortion. That also includes medical students, did you know that? The UK's NHS predicts a serious shortage of doctors willing to do abortions, because these young students want nothing to do with it. I totally support that opinion.

Lacking, 'tools,' the dem pols call out their mob thugs yet again, eh? Such brute force is what Liberty always must defend freedom against as did this country's Founders.

Why is the Brandon administration slow on the uptake? It's always slower to govern the presidency by an anonymous committee.

The Liberty Tree patriots were a pretty unruly bunch.
Peaceful protestors didn't need encouragement in being "passionate" then,
or so I've been told.

It isn't just a matter of having the votes. If Congress actually passed a law approving abortion it would have two effects. First, it would have an immediate political impact. Where the SCOTUS decision was "untouchable" because the justices are not elected, legislators ARE elected and it would become a rallying point against dems. Second, it would open the law to a Constitutional challenge on the basis that the federal government has no constitutionally defined power to rule on this issue. This could, at the same time, reopen the original court decision (Roe) to further scrutiny. Even Ginsberg disliked Roe on this basis; that the court overstepped its authority.
The "tools" don't exist because the federal government does not have legal authority in this area. That's a good thing.
Senile, babbling Brandon is right in one thing. This DOES get people thinking about other areas the federal government has over reached in the last 50+ years. A Conservative court, one that follows the strictures of the Constitution, might actually consider that other things were poorly decided.

The article tries to imply that Republicans in Congress (House and Senate) are hypocrites because they do not want to pass a law (in the post-Roe world) making abortion illegal in the entire country. The fact of the matter is that while I believe abortion should be illegal, I do not believe it should be a federal law (just as murder and theft are not federal crimes).

Guess what? There is no Supreme Court ruling, so Senile Joe can now be 'on guard' for when a decision is handed down. Also, it is my understanding that the decision will not outlaw abortion. It will give each state the opportunity to create their own terms to address abortion.

Each state will decide what to do. It's as it should be. It's not a national or Constitutional issue.

The SCOTUS leak may just backfire on the democrats. If the supremes vote to kill Roe V Wade and the democrats can't reinstate it through legislation then the abortion fanatics may just get angry and sit out the mid terms and maybe even the 2024 presidential election. That won't hurt the republicans but it would mean the democrats would have to steal that many more votes come election day.
