Kathy Boudin, a radical leftist convicted in the fatal Brink's robbery who went on to help former inmates, and the mother of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, died Sunday afternoon at her home in New York, according to a statement from the district attorney's office, and reports from the San Francisco Chronicle and other news outlets. (snip) Kathy Boudin, Gilbert and other members of the organization worked in conjunction with the Revolutionary Armed Task Force and the Black Liberation Army to partake in a robbery of $1.6 million in a Brink’s armored car at the Nanuet Mall in New York.

A federal appeals court in Texas has reinstated a Republican-backed Texas law that prevents large social media companies from banning users over their political views.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel did not explain its reasoning for granting the state's request for a stay of a December order from a federal judge. The order also did not evaluate the law on its constitutionality. It merely allows the law to go back into effect while the case continues in the lower district court. The decision is a win for Republicans who have accused social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter of being biased against conservatives.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is introducing a bill that would strip the Walt Disney Co. of its special copyright privileges, imperiling the company’s control over valuable intellectual property that could include Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.
The Copyright Clause Restoration Act would limit new copyright protections to 56 years and make the change retroactive for major corporations like Disney that have been granted unusually long copyright monopolies.
“The age of Republican handouts to Big Business is over,” Sen. Hawley said in an announcement of the bill on Tuesday.
“Thanks to special copyright protections from Congress, woke corporations like Disney have earned billions while increasingly pandering to woke activists."

In a miraculous feat right off the pages of a Hollywood script, a passenger with no flying experience successfully landed a private plane on Tuesday after his pilot had fallen unconscious.
The unnamed passenger was flying aboard a Cessna 208 Caravan on his way home from the Bahamas to see his pregnant wife in Florida when the emergency situation unfolded.
While flying over the Florida coastline about 70 miles north of his destination, the passenger can be heard in an audio recording telling Air Traffic Control (ATC) in Fort Pierce, “I’ve got a situation here.”
“My pilot has gone incoherent. I have no idea how to fly the airplane,” he advised the controller.

A bipartisan bill passed in the Senate last night that will provide additional security for Supreme Court justices and their families. The bill passed on a voice vote and was unanimous. This legislation puts the court on the same level as the executive and legislative branches to provide security which includes protection for their families as angry mobs gather outside their homes. The bill moves to the House now.
This is a rare example of unanimous bipartisan cooperation.
The Satanic Temple of the United States (TST) plans to file legal challenges against any states that restrict or ban abortions, claiming that such procedures constitute religious rituals for its adherents.
As Fox News reports, TST released a statement declared that “in states that outlaw abortion but grant exceptions for instances of incest and rape, members should be permitted a religious exception to perform TST’s religious abortion ritual.”
“States that outlaw abortion and do not grant exceptions present more significant challenges, but TST has a number of plans that we will be undertaking quite soon,” the statement continued.

Reports say that Democrats had brought Roe v Wade to the floor in order to codify it into law. The goal was to legalize abortion nationwide up until birth with what would be no limits. As you can imagine, every single Republican voted against this and they were joined by none other than West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin who had indicated that he’d vote against it earlier in the day.
This resulted in Democrats being 11 votes shy of what they needed to pass Roe into law.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has ordered the U.S. Marshals Service to ensure the safety of Supreme Court justices amid protests sparked by a leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe vs. Wade.
“The Attorney General directed the U.S. Marshals Service to help ensure the Justices’ safety by providing additional support to the Marshal of the Supreme Court and Supreme Court Police,” the Justice Department said in a press release Wednesday.
The statement did not add further details about the security measures, noting that Garland “continues to be briefed on security matters related to the Supreme Court and Supreme Court Justices.”
