The world's bestselling medical textbook removed the definition of gender dysphoria from its website after the Florida Department of Health cited it in recent guidance advising against gender transitions for children and adolescents, according to an email obtained by Fox News Digital.
The email from Melissa Adams, who is Merck Manuals' director of marketing and brand awareness, also asked the Florida Department of Health to adjust their guidance based on the update in the manual, which was first published in 1899 and remains the oldest continuously published medical textbook in English.

Well then, that means there is no such actual thing as "gender dysphoria", right? Good! That's what I always thought. It's just mental illness. Like anxiety. In turn that means we don't have to block anything OR cut anything off, yes?
The balance has been restored. Thanks Merck.

So Merck removed gender dysphoria as a recognized mental condition? I’m sure that was a medically based decision. Yeah, right.

Gender Dysphoria is largely a mental condition inhabiting the diseased minds of Libtards. While this condition exists independently, it can be induced by the proper traumatic indoctrination, like any mental illness. Real Gender Dysphoria is often connected to actual physical damage at a cellular level, but can also be induced, especially in the developing minds of children. Children, who before puberty, have very unformed gender identities, will often attempt to conform to the perceived preferences of the adults they are most frequently in contact with. Such confusion can carry over into adulthood with tragic results.
As with most psychosis, affirming such behavior, can create even greater problems.
There is a reason Psychology is called a "Soft Science". Soft Sciences do not have solid, "this will always be the answer" solutions, and rely more on perception and interpretation of the researcher. As a result. Soft Sciences ALWAYS have multiple solutions dependent on different observers. The outcome is often a result of deliberate manipulation to achieve a desired result. In hard sciences, this would be considered, fraud.

Did the science change, or were there other considerations for making the change? Let me guess...

That’s right! If we take it out of the book it doesn’t exist anymore! That’s the way we always do it! If i put “Mr” in front of my name I’m a man! If if put Ms I’m a woman! If i put “Mr ♣️ Mrs” it means im a man digging becoming a woman! It’s all perfectly normal.

Hmmmm...seems the Merk folx suffer from vernacular dysphoria. Humpty Dumpty syndrome.
"I don't know what you mean by 'glory,' " Alice said.
Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. "Of course you don't—till I tell you. I meant 'there's a nice knock-down argument for you!'"
"But 'glory' doesn't mean 'a nice knock-down argument'," Alice objected.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master—that's all."
Alice was too much puzzled to say anything, so after a minute Humpty Dumpty began again. "They've a temper, some of them—particularly verbs, they're the proudest—adjectives you can do anything with, but not verbs—however, I can manage the whole lot! Impenetrability! That's what I say!"

Roughly paraphrasing Galileo, "And, yet, they are still crazy people."
Sorry, rewriting textbooks for political reasons is NOT medicine, it is just political evil.

More corruption of those that are the supposed gatekeepers of knowledge. Instead of high-minded academics, we have political toadies.

I never considered the Merck Manual a “textbook”, but it is a generally reliable basic reference book. There is no textbook that everybody agrees with everything therein. That's because, among other things, medicine is not an exact science. We could be more upset that Merck is one of the producers of a fake vaccine.

In the latest version of DSM 5 (2013), the American Psychiatric Association replaced “gender identity disorder” with “gender dysphoria.” It did so in the hopes that it would “avoid stigma and ensure clinical care for individuals who see and feel themselves to be a different gender” than the one they were born as. The APA felt that it was important to note that gender nonconformity is not in itself a mental disorder. The critical element of gender dysphoria is the presence of clinically significant distress associated with the condition.” Gender dysphoria is, of course, real. It is not a disorder. It is feelings.

Is "gender" identified as a purely psycho-linguistic construct? "Gender dysphoria" doesn't need to be defined, because there is nothing real about "gender" to begin with.

Go back to the 1965 version of the book and I'll bet you there's no such thing as that term mentioned. Back then all such things deviating from Male and Female were called "DELUSION" or "PSYCHOSIS."
