Forty five years ago, a pediatrician told my sister to give her colicky baby some whiskey mixed with formula, and then she should fix herself a drink. This was in Louisiana, too.

What kind of mind produces an act like this? These two women should be forced to drink alcohol until they die. I am sorry but my sympathy meter is broken when it comes to this kind of crime and I don’t even want it fixed. There is no rationale for killing your own child and grandchild. I bet they laughed when this precious child got drunk. My goodness, they would get no mercy from me. That is just too far above my pay grade. Fry them. Hang them. Shoot them. Just make them cease to live.

Re #3. A teaspoon of an alcoholic beverage in a bottle of formula is a LONG way from forcing a child to drink a whole bottle of whiskey straight. I have head of that 'a bit of liquor in the formula' idea for colicky babies - it never seemed outrageous to me, the dose was small and the intent was to help the infant to sleep with a legal, mild treatment.

I used to put whiskey on the end of a wash cloth and rub my infant son's gum when he was fussy and/or teething. I put him in the swing, and wound it up. Then I would lie down on the couch to rest for a few minutes. Mother's sanity matters

The “News Not Noise” podcast host Jessica Yellin asked Psaki about the legislation that has passed in numerous conservative-led states across the nation. “How do you make sense of what’s happening?” Yellin disingenuously asked the press secretary. “Is this sort of a predictable backlash to change? So naturally, in 2020 the land of fruits and nuts became the first state to establish a real-live “task force” to study the issue of slavery reparations. President Joe Biden is banning traditional incandescent lightbulbs in a push to be more energy efficient, but critics claim the switch to LED alternatives will prove costly for poorer Americans. The Department of Energy (DOE) adopted two new rules Tuesday that strengthen energy efficiency standards for lightbulbs and will effectively phase out the sale of traditional bulbs by next year. However, consumer analysts allege that not only are LED bulbs more expensive, costing nearly $4 each as opposed to $1 for an incandescent bulb, but are often not stocked in stores in lower-income communities. Around 30 percent of the two billion bulbs sold in the US every year are incandescent.
