Schadenfreude overload as Fox ratings
champs Tucker and Gutfeld savage CNN+,
Chris Wallace, and Brian Stelter on air

Conservatives rarely get opportunities to gloat as delicious as the rapid demise of the streaming service CNN+, reportedly the brainchild of Jeff Zucker, the now ex-head of CNN, the man who dragged the cable news pioneer far to the left. The humiliation stains not just Zucker and CNN, but also Chris Wallace, who left Fox News on a high horse, taking aim at Tucker Carlson and the prime-time opinion hosts at the cable news leader. Already shamed by the fact that Fox News Sunday ratings went up after he left, Wallace now has to contend with savage mockery by the two notable ratings champions at his former employer.

Comments:

It appears the non-subscribing members of CNN+ spoke loud and clear.

I recall Huntley-Brinkley, Douglas Edwards, Howard K Smith ...reading the news. No frills, no entertainment, no opinion, just news. I learned more in 20 minutes than in hours today. Then, during Vietnam, Cronkite started injecting his opinions snidely as asides and facial expressions and it has become the norm

I slowly stopped watching Fox after the 2016 debates when the creepy little lip gloss whorish Meghan Kelly attacked Donald Trump I didn't wait until 2020. I only watch Fox Business in the early morning catching the latest Carlson and Gutfield on YouTube during the day. No political news flows in my house it's peaceful without lies and drama.

I remember watching CNN when I was active duty Navy coming off of the midnight shipboard topside watch at 4 am. Hearing James Earl Jones voice booming "This is CNN!" was good as was their news. After BJ Clinton took over the network started to morph into what PDJT coined many years later as fake news. Now you couldn't pay me to watch that channel let alone pay for their streaming service. I also remember when Fox News debuted kicking CNN in the ratings since then. Since then Fox has become unwatchable too with me only watching Waters and Carlson off and on as my then favorites Hannity and Ingraham have become stale especially mixed martial arts 20 degree Black belt Hannity. Chris Wallace was the major reason along with the stunt during 2020 Election night that just turned me off as watching FNC daily. I'm glad that little toad is getting what's coming to him. With the summer months coming up my news viewership is going to go further down and at this point I don't even care.

I love Tucker and Gutfield however Fox has some programming I find unwatchable. I can not understand why they thought viewers would give a poop about Johnny Depp. What a waste of time. There are real things happening that need to be reported. I watch the conservative news on Pluto to keep up on the times.

#4 has it right. I had just come back from Vietnam and was watching Cronkite on CBS and he launched into a story I knew to be false. He was an unreliable source for news and I refused to watch CBS after that because I didn't trust him. As the months passed I came to realize the MSM was in lockstep to destroy our military's morale and the whole crew of on air talking heads were singing off the same sheet of music. I found myself at a university in the very early 70s and saw firsthand the damage that was being done to young, impressionable students. It wasn't pretty and the results of that brainwashing is all around us today.

#6 you mean “I’m working since I’m 14. I washed pots and pans” Hannity? The one who used to have a radio show immediately after Limbaugh’s show where he re-enacted Rush’s show but with a lower IQ? That Hannity? Psst…..You might not know this but he has two family members who work for the FBI (that’s why he wears the FBI pin on his lapel during his show) and they are like gods to the Hannity’s. I know because he mentioned it for the 842nd time. I just can’t watch him anymore and wonder who his audience is except for people who don’t mind repetition.

From the moment Donald Trump rode down that escalator, the American left began their campaign to destroy the man and prevent him from being elected. Their efforts included falsifying a fraudulent banking scheme, wiretapping his phones, and the fabrication of the Russia hoax. Despite all their devious and illegal plans, to their horror Trump won the election, so they doubled down, determined to drive him from office. For nearly three years, with the aid of the FBI, the DOJ and the CIA, they sought to make absolutely certain he could not be re-elected.

From Breitbart News, April 19: RIVERSIDE COUNTY, California — Four times as much fentanyl is flowing across the United States-Mexico border under President Joe Biden compared to two years prior when former President Trump was in office. The U.S.-Mexican border exists in name only. Joe Biden erased it. His is a wanton act of disregard for the welfare, safety, and security of Americans. Impeachment is a must, should Republicans take charge of the U.S. House next January. Biden’s actions amount to willful dereliction of duty that constitutes “high crimes.” Ranking Biden administration officials running national security or law enforcement departments and agencies are culpable, too.

Lind's argument is this: The centralized and authoritarian control of American progressivism by major foundations and the nonprofits that they fund, and the large media institutions, universities, corporations, and banks that disseminate the progressive party line, has made it impossible for there to be public intellectuals on the American center left.

The war in Ukraine is a tragedy to watch. Whether or not like Sean Penn, who claims he’s thinking of taking arms to fight Russia, or like most of the corporate media you are rooting for Ukraine and demonizing Russia, you have to admire Ukrainian pluck. You also have to be astonished at the poor performance of the Russian military, who apparently lost their flagship missile cruiser Moskva in the Black Sea either by missile strike (U.S. claim) or accidental fire (Russian claim). I grieve for the suffering of those displaced by the war and the loss of life.

Fox News has parted company with Laura Logan, the journalist contends, for relaying viewers’ comments that Dr. Anthony Fauci does not represent science, as the Biden adviser has claimed, and instead represents Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. Logan, formerly with CBS News, had in mind the fallout from COVID, but a different context might be more appropriate. Josef Mengele earned a medical degree in 1938, the same year he joined the Nazis’ Waffen SS, where he volunteered for medical service. At Nazi concentration camps, Mengele would decide which arrivals would live or die.

Kennan — who knew more about Russia and its history and culture than all of Clinton's advisers combined.

President Joe Biden is banning traditional incandescent lightbulbs in a push to be more energy efficient, but critics claim the switch to LED alternatives will prove costly for poorer Americans. The Department of Energy (DOE) adopted two new rules Tuesday that strengthen energy efficiency standards for lightbulbs and will effectively phase out the sale of traditional bulbs by next year. However, consumer analysts allege that not only are LED bulbs more expensive, costing nearly $4 each as opposed to $1 for an incandescent bulb, but are often not stocked in stores in lower-income communities. Around 30 percent of the two billion bulbs sold in the US every year are incandescent.
