The White House on Wednesday said President Joe Biden’s administration would continue to defend mask mandates leveled by the Centers for Disease Control, despite airline passengers celebrating a court ruling effectively ending them.White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended the two-week extension of the mask mandate on planes and public transportation, arguing the CDC “felt they needed that” to examine more data about the coronavirus pandemic. She said the Justice Department announced its willingness to defend the CDC’s mandate to help preserve the agency’s power over public transportation. “I mean our focus here was seeing what power we had to preserve what we felt was in the public health interest

Defund the CDC. Shut it down, permanently. CDC is totally corrupt and political. CDC is not actually interested in saving lives of ordinary citizens. No benefits to the CDC, only harm.

You could say that about any mandate that the CDC dreams up, or that politicians tell them to institute, even if the CDC does not have the legal authority to take the action, just as the federal judge found in the current case concerning the face masks. If what is going on now becomes adverse to the Democrats, they will tell the CDC to drop the face mask mandate administratively and move on.

The CDC has been totally discredited as a source of information. They don’t do their jobs. They do the bidding of the liberals in power. They are unelected and essentially powerless to force mandates or set policy. This is completely political and being driven by Biden’s handlers. They seem to think that referencing these clowns makes them sound legitimate. No one is buying it.

Their position is if this federal judge ruling stands, the CDC won’t be able to direct a mandate in the future. We say perfect, the CDC should never have the power to direct any mandate, ever!

Republicans pounced on a tweet by the Connecticut Democratic Party that drew a comparison of a Black Republican House candidate to the cartoon monkey Curious George. The party attacked George Logan, a GOP candidate in Connecticut’s 5th Congressional District, for allegedly not living in the district. As many as three donors to Hillary Clinton’s past presidential campaigns are members of the jury in the trial of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann in Washington, D.C., who faces the sole charge of lying to the FBI.Prosecutors working with Special Counsel John H. Durham contend that Sussmann concealed his work for the campaign when passing along information to the FBI about an alleged link between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russia, via Alfa Bank. The Alfa Bank claim was later found to be baseless, and witnesses said this week that Sussmann’s alleged deception gave him status as a confidential source that meant FBI agents could not ask further questions

The Biden administration privately acknowledged late last month that a mathematical error is delaying the federal government’s offshore oil and gas program. In an April 29 letter to industry leaders obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that a subagency “discovered a miscalculation” that has caused a massive backlog in permitting. Richard Spinrad acknowledged in his letter that the National Marine Fisheries Service—the subagency tasked with analyzing the impact of offshore drilling projects on wildlife—has used faulty computer modeling on such impacts. As a result, Spinrad wrote, the subagency overestimated wildlife effects, delaying permitting on existing leases.

As a pro-life atheist, I’ve never been more confused. That starts with the fact that Ocasio-Cortez is herself Catholic. Does she consider her own faith “fundamentalist”? I presume she’d say the Church requires its members to be pro-life in their private conduct (isn’t she pro-choice?) but doesn’t require them to enshrine their beliefs in public policy. If that’s the case, I’d politely refer her to today’s news. Beyond that, she seems to be arguing that abortion is some sort of religious right. Conservatives have accused the left for years of treating abortion as a sort of sacrament but it turns out we didn’t know the half of it.
