California's greenie 'food waste' law
hits the reality wall

Original Article

In their never-ending quest to remake and remodel California into a greenie socialist paradise, the tsentral planners running California have once again blundered like boobs again, failing to anticipate the unintended consequences of their feelgood 'food waste' law. The law, which went into effect this year, forbids restaurants and groceries, no matter where the heck they are, from discarding unused food and legally binds them to donate it to food banks instead. No word from the report on whether the items are old or expired or unfit for human consumption. We'll just have to take the greenie word for it that it's all a good thing.

A wonderful new potential source of income for attorneys. Sue any grorcery store, restaurant etc, if somebody is “injured” by the food mandated to them at the expense, no doubt, of the “donator”. Is this world increasingly insane, or is it only me and nearly everybody I come in contact with?

The Gullible mind believes that all that food was thrown away because Trump and Republicans are BAD. It just takes someone (self described as) GOOD to stop the BAD from being done. Trump just threw all that food away because he’s BAD and doesn’t want anyone else to have it. Now the GOOD Gullibles are going to FORCE the BAD people to stop doing that. Simple. The Gullibles will make us be GOOD which is defined as doing what they tell us to do. For our own GOOD. Got it? GOOD.

So sick of these food banks. No one has starved to death in this country since Karen Carpenter did it to herself. EBT cards, etc. I can't go to my local grocery store without being asked at checkout to round up for the local food bank. And in my small Virginia town, you just drive up and ask for food and it not loaded into your care. No questions about actual need or income or anything. Maybe these food banks should all buy electric vehicles?

Oh the irony. Food waste carbon emission savings are lost in fossil fuel consumption by vehicles picking up the food from restaurants, etc.

I used to volunteer at an large animal-welfare organization that has a fleet of trucks that go around collecting expired food from big-box stores to feed to its animals. The drivers are on the road every day. It is a great use for perfectly good food that can't be fed to humans because it is past the expiration date. I've seen beautiful steaks, chicken, salmon steaks, ground beef, veggies and fruit that won't go to waste, because what is considered expired for humans is still perfectly good for large animals.

If you feed a stray cat at least it will attempt to bury it’s poop. If you feed a leftist they are more likely to poop on your front porch.

Former President Barack Obama tweeted support for President Biden Tuesday evening shortly after an embarrassing video emerged from a health care event the two hosted earlier in the day. Obama visited the White House, for the first time since leaving office in 2017, where he and Biden hosted a health care event in which they touted the Affordable Care Act and discussed options for making health care more affordable. The former presidential duo was united again under the White House roof, but pictures and videos of the event showed people adoring the former president, even to the detriment of the man currently serving in the White House.

But Joe was upbeat: According to CNBC: President Joe Biden said Thursday that he would consider himself “very fortunate” if former President Donald Trump runs against him for a second time in the 2024 election for the White House.

Last week Cook Political Report posted an analysis of the House midterm election which said “Both sides see the possibility of a Red Tsunami in 2022.” But the rest of the Cook piece argued that because of redistricting changes 2022 can’t possibly equal a tsunami like the one in 1994 when Republicans won 54 seats. There are simply not as many competitive seats in the House as there used to be. So the author ultimately predicted a more modest wave: Every metric we use to analyze the political environment — the president’s approval rating, the mood of the electorate, the enthusiasm gap — all point to huge gains

The Alabama Legislature passed a bill Thursday criminalizing sex-change treatments for children, including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries. If signed by Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, the bill would treat the castration of children and other sex-change treatments as Class C felonies. Such felonies carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison for medical practitioners, Politico reported. The legislation would ban medical treatments done for the purpose of changing a child’s appearance or affirming his or her gender identity, including drugs that halt healthy puberty; cross-sex hormones; surgical sterilizations such as castration, vasectomies, and hysterectomies; cosmetic genital reconstruction surgeries; and removal of healthy body parts.

Very often, when companies go woke, it turns out that the wokeness is a cover for changing market forces. That is, they're not alienating traditional demographics; they're reflecting that their money is coming from new demographics. When it comes to Hollywood and the NBA, for example, the big bucks are coming from China, not America. And when it comes to Disney, the main profit center isn't children; it's young adults who, Peter Pan–like, refuse to grow up. The brilliant Daniel Greenfield makes this point in an article entitled "Disney's Business Model is Turning Kids into Dysfunctional Adults: Its customer base isn't kids. It's messed up adults."
