Thank God for the Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.” Whoever the anonymous woman running that account is, she’s doing the Lord’s work when it comes to exposing the general public to the entitled brats now working as teachers in the public school system across the country. It’s hilarious and horrifying all at once, and something needs to be done about it if we’re going to stand a chance of returning to sanity in this country. A lot of teachers, and I mean a lot of them, need to be tossed out on their asses, and soon.

My wife is retiring after 40 years as a teacher. From her perspective, many of the younger teachers care only about where they want to go on vacation, how they can do as little as possible, what bar to go to and what to drink after school and complaining endlessly about not making enough money when everyday they come into school with their seven or eight dollar coffee from Starbucks. The kids seem to be an afterthought to many of the younger teachers. They seem to be in teaching because of the amount of time off it affords them.

#4, Your wife is not alone in her assessment. She is right on. It’s not about the children, it’s all about them. Most have zero discipline in their classrooms which makes learning difficult. It is chaos in far too many classrooms. Many new teachers are too interested in being the “cool teacher” and do not want to discipline or are just too lazy. They abandoned their core responsibilities for every trendy teaching method coming down the pike. It is a social experiment and the joke’s on the kids. Parents are uncooperative many times and looking for trouble and the kids lack respect. It can be a toxic environment. What is needed is common sense, a core curriculum that speaks to the needs of educating the children, not indoctrinating them, discipline, respect, and parental involvement. Do away with all the indoctrination that goes on with the teaching staff. They are subjected to various seminars and continuing education classes that have little to do with actual teaching and a lot to do with social issues.
We really do need a complete overhaul of our schools. There’s too much administration, too much red tape, too much indoctrination with subjects that have nothing to do with actual learning. It seems to me that if parents, teachers and the administration were on board with their goals, it would be much better for the children. Get politics out of the schools from top to bottom. It creates nothing but problems. Agree that educating children without the cloud of politics hanging over the classroom is the number one priority. There are massive numbers of good grounded educators out there who would love to see this political garbage out of their classrooms.

Too late. Figure out how to make home school work in your family. Has anyone considered part of the labor shortage is caused by families returning to single income? Someone has to care for and educate the kids and home school is growing leaps and bounds!

This all started happening after LGBTQ teachers were mandated by the Democrats to be freely hired in the public schools who have other aspects of their lives stuck in their minds, rather then the legitimate subjects such as reading, writing, and arithmetics.

The word teacher should be removed from the dictionary. It no longer means one who teaches.

School is a day care center to try and keep the kids off the streets and out of trouble. Teach them just enough to flip hamburgers when they drop out. Little do the kids know, that job will be taken by newly arrived immigrants.

I've been teaching is a 1100 student high school. This one and others of it's size and larger are just too big to manage effectively. Larger schools have just become processing plants - bring them in the front, and ship them out the back. Cellphones and student behavior issues in the classroom make it impossible for the teachers to do their best and the best students to get the education they need to succeed. The teachers and school are not the most determinate factor in a Childs success in life. It is the family from which the student originates that is the most influence factor.

Now we're getting to the nuts and bolts of the problem. Teachers do what their unions tell them to do and the union agenda is not educating children, it's keeping democrats in power so the tax dollars keep gushing into failing school systems. Modern teachers are those who take the path of least resistance through college and those who pick up a sub-par education are also taught to believe that their job is the most important one on Earth. It would be if they did it right. I enjoyed my early education back in the day when teachers drove Volkswagen Beetles and were actually smart. I sympathize with today's students and parents and the proof of their disappointment is in the product that the schools turn out, rude, stupid and entitled brats.

Don't forget to fire the administrators, school boards, State Education Agency, and get rid of the Dept of Education. School is a privilege, and those that don't want it should be given another place to go. The unions have to be eliminated. The state monopoly on schools should be revoked. The teachers would benefit by having competition for their services. Cellphones should not be allowed in a classroom. Put them in student lockers. Teacher dress codes should be brought back to professional levels. Misbehavior or disrespect should be met with suspensions, proportionately dealt with.

I went to Catholic schools and had nuns as teachers. As 'brides of Christ' I'm sure glad they didn't talk about their sex lives.

Close all government schools. ONLY private schools, and each student has an "attached" funding from the school taxes paid by everyone. Parents can choose whatever school their child goes to, just NO GOVERNMENT involvement in the schools.

The worst theys and theirs go into teaching today. The teachers of my youth were excellent women. The men who followed were bullies and probably homos. They were physically abusive to young boys in class.

My husband was a teacher. He insisted that the boys remove their hats in class. The new Black principle would not back him. Pimps roamed the halls looking for girls. The Black Principal would not back him. Husband wanted to expel black students who carried knives and guns. Principal would not back him. Black students beat white students, principal said: "No student left behind." My husband died young.

I remember the days when being a teacher was considered to be a respected and honorable profession. Most of teachers of today don't give a damn about educating our children, all they care about is indoctrinating them. Today's curriculum is garbage and this was exposed during the virtual learning during the pandemic. In today's world I would rank teachers right along with lowlife attorneys, and politicians.
