Russia's Bloody Retreat From Kyiv

Original Article

Posted By: Dreadnought, 4/2/2022 10:22:23 AM

Ukraine has recaptured more territory around Kyiv as Russian forces leave the area. In some instances, Russian troops are abandoning their positions in an orderly fashion, and Ukrainian forces are largely letting them leave. But Reuters reports that there’s a trail of smashed tanks and dead bodies that marks Russia’s retreat from the outskirts of Kyiv, attesting to some fierce battles that took place in the last several days. Ukraine recaptured more territory around Kyiv from Russian soldiers who left shattered villages and their own abandoned tanks as they moved away from the capital, while a disputed cross-border strike in Russia complicated peace talks on Friday.

Putin is not retreating. To believe that he is, is at your own peril. Now is the time for FJB to deliver the weapons he promised.

This is the most ill-conceived, harebrained, poorly executed Russian military misadventure since the 1905 Russo-Japanese War. If Putin had an ounce of self-awareness or decency he would not have to be removed, he would resign in shame followed by performing ritual Seppuku. The pure idiocy of this move is only matched by its' evil. First, he camped his army in a frozen Belorus forest for weeks, claiming they were only conducting exercises [sure, everyone was fooled by that, right.] They he decided to begin his invasion at the beginning of the spring thaw when the surrounding countryside turns into mud. Now, his vehicles have to bunch up on the road. Instead of ''Z'' on the side of his vehicles they should have put the red Target logo. Worst of all, he let the cat-out-of-the-bag of a vital Russian state secret; that their army sucks. It is manned by poorly trained conscripts and led by bungling, corrupt, incompetent officers. The large modern Russian army is neither. The modern part isn't very large and the large part isn't very modern. They had such poor logistics capabilities they were unable to establish supply lines beyond a few miles. Their equipment is poorly maintained garbage that constantly breaks. Their air force is unable to suppress enemy air defenses or coordinate with their own ground troops. Although incompetent, the Russian military is still evil enough to bombard urban population centers with missiles and artillery. If you can't beat trained disciplined troops, take it out on civilians. This invasion is just as stupid evil as it would be for the US to invade Canada; a peaceful neighbor that poses no threat and shares your language and culture. The big difference is that the US military would be capable of successfully conquering and holding Canada, but we would never do it. 1. We like the Canadians, they are our friends. 2. We are not violence-prone, dark, sinister, evil fiends.

Putin gambled on the weakness of Biden, and the ambivalence of NATO. When the invasion started, I believed Pootie was right in his estimation of the West's response. It appears we were both wrong.

Other than a nuclear force Russia's army sucks. They might be winning but I doubt it. Not that I trust the corporate media to give us the truth, but this is not going well for Adolph Putin. Every day there is a drip drip drip of Russian blood as Ukrainian civilians join the fight and fight a gorilla war. Anybody really think Russia is winning? Please post a link that supports your position.

I'm confused to a certain extent. Is Kyiv the same as Kiev? As in the music, "The great gates of Kiev"? I'm assuming it is with Kiev being Russian, and Kyiv being Ukranian. I've haven't heard anyone make the distinction in any of the news reporting.

Largely letting them leave? Why? It probably wouldn't take much pressure to turn an orderly withdraw into an embarrassing, frenzied rout. Perhaps local Ukrainian forces need some recovery time? To my thinking, the Russians should be getting the same treatment Massachuesstts farmers gave to the British column marching from Concord back to Boston.

Poll: Majority of Americans Approve of

The majority of Americans approve of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law — misreported by the left-wing media and activists as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill —  according to a poll publicized by the Editorial Board at the Wall Street Journal. That includes 55 percent of Democrats and 53 percent Americans who voted for Joe Biden. The bill that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law, which does mention “gay” in its text, prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in Florida public schools in kindergarten through third grade. “When Americans are presented with the actual language of the new Florida law, it wins support by more than a two-to-one margin,”

Another seance with the ghost of Cardinal Richelieu explains Putin’s objectives in Ukraine: Russia will ruin and depopulate Ukraine, the way Richelieu reduced large parts of Germany to cannibalism during the Thirty Years War. Shortly after I conjured the spirit of Europe’s greatest (and nastiest) strategist, the Telegram channel of Russia’s most fanatic nationalist, Aleksandr Dugin, featured the item below: NATO says the military phase of the conflict in Ukraine is far from over. Of course, no one will let Zelensky make peace. Ukraine is not a subject, but an object, where the Zelensky regime is not an actor, but a tool. “Therefore, it is necessary to

“We absolutely stand by the president’s comment.” With those words, White House communications director Kate Bedingfield reaffirmed that President Biden maintains his son Hunter Biden did “nothing [that] was unethical” and never “made money” in China. Those claims appear demonstrably false — and they make the positions of both the media and Attorney General Merrick Garland absolutely untenable. For the media, the ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden by U.S. Attorney David Weiss in Delaware has presented a growing danger of self-indictment over its prior coverage (or noncoverage). Weiss has called a long line of witnesses before a grand jury, and there is growing expectation of criminal charges against Hunter Biden.

The Russian Army is retreating all along the northern border of Ukraine. The official Russian version for the retreat is that this is a Five Dimensional Chess move by Grandmaster Vlad, which was part of the plan all along. A more rational view is that the units that attacked on February 24 have been substantially degraded and are being pulled back across the border with Belarus and Russia to rearm and refit, and take on replacements for casualties. As Ukrainian troops advance, they are beginning to uncover evidence of war crimes committed by Russian troops against Ukrainian civilians. A town that has been particularly hard hit is Bucha,

Joe Biden is fine. Seriously, don’t even think about suggesting he’s not. There is nothing abnormal or concerning about his mental state, and increasingly, his physical state as well. To even delve into such a discussion is to push wild conspiracy theories, backed by no real-world examples at all. Oh, wait, it’s April 2nd. Sorry, got my days mixed up there. On Saturday morning, the president spoke to members of the US Navy, and in doing so, he not only seemed to forget he was vice president, but he bestowed the title on his wife, Jill Biden. California corporate diversity law ruled unconstitutional 10 replies

Los Angeles - A Los Angeles judge ruled Friday that California’s landmark law mandating that corporations diversify their boards with members from certain racial, ethnic or LGBT groups is unconstitutional. The brief ruling granted summary judgment to Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group that sought a permanent injunction against the measure that was signed into law last year. The ruling didn't explain the judge's reasoning. The measure requires corporate boards of publicly traded companies with a main executive office in California to have a member from an "underrepresented community," including LGBT, Black, Latino, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander. The lawsuit argued that violated the state’s constitutional equal protection clause.
