Updated 20:30 Chris Rock got more than he may have bargained for as a presenter at the 94th Academy Awards. While presenting the award for Best Documentary Feature, which ultimately went to Questlove’s Summer of Soul, he made a joke at the expense of Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, leading to an on-stage altercation that was not scripted and drew gasps from the room, according to sources.
“Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” Rock said with reference to Pinkett Smith’s appearance. Will Smith seemed to be laughing following Rock’s comment. But he then stunned the audience at the Dolby by storming

Have to admit I didn't watch diddly to do with the Oscars because they are dead to me (and I am a moviephile) but I can forgive a man a great deal when he is defending the honor of his wife against well.. almost anything (that more Hollywood marriages created this kind of honor). And Jada has been going through a great deal lately. Alopecia is horrible, especially for women. I really like Chris Rock but it was a joke in very bad taste. I hope my man Denzel (who is an astoundingly good actor period, full stop) got it all worked out between the offended parties.

Good to see a guy stand up when someone insults his wife.
Somewhere in the afterlife right now Rodney Dangerfield is smacking himself.

Jada and Will have had an open marriage for years. She goes both ways. Still, no excuse to insult her but I don't think Rock really meant it that way. Not like I care, tho. They're all a bunch of ignorant hypocrites.

Tough guy! Slaps a skinny comedian to avenge his wife? Why didn’t she go up and do the slapping? Equality people!!! Women are no different than men, right? We can’t even define a woman in 2022 speak!

I have been on L.com since before the 2000 election and have defended Conservatives against the charge os racism for a long time but some of the crap I am seeing on this particular instance is really making me question my thinking. Seriously guys, a man defending the honor of his sick wife against a callous comedian? So much for Conservative manhood (if you are anything but white).

I know Zero about hollyweird. I know who the 2 guys are but IDK what the "joke" meant.
The thing civilized people do when there is a serious insult is they walk out with dignity, perhaps after demanding to be met "outside."
They do not use violence in a crowded indoor space. That is how meles occur and bystanders get hurt.
No, a sucker punch while smiling is not manly. It is ghetto. Does Smith wanna be a role model or a stereotype? He is a weakling and a fool.

Exactly, #10. They're so desperate for ratings. Did either of them get Best Actor? Just actors displaying their 'skills'.

Watch the footage of the incident. It looks staged.
How can you punch someone in the jaw and it not bust their lip and cause them to bleed?
He wasn't hurt at all. It looked like a stage punch, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had rehearsed it.
It is probably a lame attempt to get ratings, since very few people are wasting time watching them give awards to each other and blabber about their uninformed political opinions.

Prediction: David Chappelle will facilitate a peace which will include Chris Rock noting that Smith's slap was a limp wristed free hit that didn't even stagger him.

The one about the guy in an open marriage who suddenly cares about his wife's "honor" because a comedian made a joke about her short haircut.
Dude seems like he's compensating for himself being a POS to her.

#6, I am quite calm but I call out what I see and I have seen references to "animals, "plantations" "jungle" too many times lately. We at L.com have always been guests at a salon... not rowdies at a saloon. That kind of blatant racism has no place here.

Chris Rock, who is one funny guy usually, made a joke about her hair, not her “honor”. It seems Jada is losing her hair. Lots of women wear a wig so, if her hair loss bothers her so much, cover it up. Champagne problems.

John D Rockefeller had alopecia ( complete loss of body hair ) and so what? It's a non lethal condition. Pinkett could have worn a wig is she felt so embarrassed . She chooses not to wear one. The whole incident is Hollywood look at me behavior.

Twitter clips show a real ghetto-fest. Chris should have insulted Smith's satellite antenna ears if he wanted to get a real laugh. If I recall, the last embarrassing stage-confrontation at an awards show was when Kanye West walked on stage and slammed Taylor Swift for winning a singing award ahead of Beyonce. Blacks can't keep their childlike emotions in check anywhere.

#5, I used to hold your views while black behavior in the year 2000 was acceptable but Barack Obama changed all of that. They used his example to insult others far beyond the limits of racism by burning our cities, making theft a daily activity, killing senior citizens with baseball bats and pushing people to their deaths in front of trains - for no reason other than pure evil. Their assaults on Asians have been horrendous. Their weekly shooting of their own children is worse than murder. Until that behavior is changed or the guilty are put away in prison, I have yet to be convinced that they currently have a place in American society.

Another Hollywood block buster. GI Jane 2. Does the movie include the appearance of the lower physical standards for women, or the classroom discussion of gender neutrality or race?

I haven't watched the Oscars in years as it became a forum for every nit wit cause and agenda thus lacking in entertainment. Anyway, I haven't seem a decent movie made in Hollywood for many years so why bother.
