President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to propose a new 'minimum tax' targeting billionaires, establishing a 20 percent levy on all American households worth more than $100 million. The White House plans to unveil the 'Billionaire Minimum Income Tax' on Monday as part of Biden's 2023 budget plan, according to the Washington Post. But it would have to pass through Congress to become law, and would likely face stiff opposition from some quarters. The proposal aims to close a purported loophole that benefits the nation's 700-odd billionaires, many of whom have most of their wealth in stock, which is not taxed until it is sold for a profit.

I wonder what took the dims so long to get to this? What about the carried interest rule that allows hedge fund managers to get their income taxed at capital gains rates?

Comparison of tax rates should include discussion of the risks inherent in the source of income. Stocks (equities) held for more than a year are taxed at lower rates than are fixed-income investments (bonds) held for the same period, reflective of risk levels. These billionaires typically took great risk in accumulating their wealth and used their skills and hard work to build companies that employ people and produce goods and services their customers are willing to pay for. Why should they be punished for doing so?

"Unrealized" means it doesn't exist yet. So Dopey Joe and the Demzis want to tax something that doesn't exist? Somebody who has $100mil in some stock could not sell it for $100mil because they would flood the market and drop the price, making it worth less. This is too stupid even for the Demzis. What is really going on? Misdirection? Distraction? Threat? Fishing for bribes to not push this?

And next up, if that works: a wealth tax. That way, people like Teresa Heinz Kerry, who reportedly had $5 billion---but no income!---can see her wealth shrink by a billion each year. And Billy Gates new swinging bachelor pad, worth $43 million, will generate at least $8 million a year in 'wealth taxes'. Then, how about windfall taxes on incomes of sports stars, Hollyweird stars, and the Kardashians. Then a tax on things you don't 'own' but get to use; like Al Sharpton's suits, POSoros' estate for your wedding, etc.

And as always happens those who aren't super rich will get hit the hardest. I get less than 90k$ per year and I'll bet dollars to doughnuts I will end up having to pay that tax. When the alternative minimum tax (that was supposed to make the super rich pay some tax was passed) I ended up having to pay. It was only about $100 but I had to pay. When they raised taxes on Social Security(a retirement system made from money you have already paid taxes on once already) so that the super rich had to pay taxes on their social security my mother had to pay that tax. And she couldn't even afford to own a house but they classified her as super rich. Every time they "raise taxes on the rich" the non-rich end up having to pay.

It seems to me that what they are REALLY going after is the 'Unrealized Capital Gain' of the increased 'Dollar value' of Everyone's HOME! The super-rich will move their wealth 'offshore' to tax-haven countries, and even if hey did not, the 'super-rich' don't have enough money to pay the Federal deficit (not the Debt, just the annual Deficit). With the off-the-chain Democrat spending, the Dollar is worth less and less.... we have the highest inflation rates since 'Jimmah' was in office, and it may surpass that. Your house, just sitting there, becomes 'worth' more and more Dollars as the value of each Dollar shrinks. The Plan is to tax you on the 'unrealized Capital Gain' on your Home as, just sitting there unchanged, it becomes worth more and more of the shrinking Dollars. Don't believe me? Wait and See!

A government watchdog group is suing the Federal Election Commission after the agency dismissed its 2019 complaint alleging that Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s campaign failed to disclose hundreds of thousand in fundraising expenses and violated campaign contribution limits. The National Legal and Policy Center filed its lawsuit Friday against the federal agency in Washington DC federal court, blasting a six-member investigations panel — made up of three Democrats and three Republicans — for not providing a reason for its dismissal of the complaint. The 36-page March 4, 2019 complaint

He came, he saw, he confused. Joe Biden’s call-to-arms speech in Poland was long on soaring rhetoric about the virtues of democracy but woefully short on what more the West will do to help Ukraine defeat the Russian invasion. But by the time he got to the finish, most of that was forgotten. What mattered most and what will be remembered for a long time was a single line the president of the United States said about the president of Russia: “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”(Snip)Maybe the idea just popped into Biden’s addled brain and he added it on the fly.

Tech giant Apple is working on turning its iPhone and other products into a subscription-based hardware service sharing some similarities with a car lease. Bloomberg reports that tech giant Apple is developing a subscription service for its iPhone and other hardware products, which could turn iPhone ownership into a subscription service rather than direct hardware ownership. The service would be Apple’s biggest effort so far to enter the automatically recurring sales market. The project is reportedly still in development, according to sources with knowledge of the matter, and has yet to be finalized. Apple shares climbed to a session high falling Bloomberg’s reporting of the feature late this week,

Joe Biden’s trip overseas has been a disaster! Biden has dramatically escalated his rhetoric against Vladimir Putin, calling for the Russian leader to be removed because of his brutal invasion of Ukraine. “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power,” Biden’s said at the very end of a speech in Poland’s capital that served as the capstone on a four-day trip to Europe. Biden has frequently talked about ensuring that the Kremlin’s now two-month invasion becomes a “strategic failure” for Putin and has described the Russian leader as a “war criminal.” But until his remarks in Warsaw, the American leader had not said that Putin should not run Russia.

Lately, when we think about what’s happening to America’s military under Biden, we’ve been focusing on the Pentagon’s obsessions with race, LGBTQ+++ issues (especially transgenderism), women’s rights, and political “wrong think” (i.e., conservativism). That obsession has consistently put progressive social policy ahead of military cohesion and readiness. However, Jim Webb, who was a Marine infantry officer while in Vietnam, then the Navy secretary under Ronald Reagan and, lastly, a Virginia senator during the Obama years, has written an op-ed about a different concern: The potentially damaging, purely operational changes Marine commandment Gen. David Berger intends to impose on the Corps.

Following the New York Times’ recent acknowledgment that the infamous Hunter Biden laptop is actually 100% legit, new polling released this week by Rasmussen Reports shows that a growing number of Democrat voters are waking up to the fact that the 2020 election was, at the very least, rigged, if not outright stolen. In other words, the narrative is crumbling – it’s impossible to hide the fact that Biden is an illegitimate and incompetent president. According to the poll from March 24th, nearly a quarter of registered Democrat voters now believe that Joe would not be president today if the media had done their jobs

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday that the United States is not looking for 'regime change' in Moscow or anywhere else in the world after President Joe Biden said Vladimir Putin 'cannot remain in power.' Biden went directly after the Russian autocrat in an emotional speech on Saturday, warning if Putin's ambitions went unchecked it could lead to decades of war in Europe. Speaking to reporters in Jerusalem the next day, Blinken explained that his boss was likely referring to Putin's influence outside of his country—including Moscow's bloody and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine which has now spanned over a month.
