On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida met with Disney CEO Bob Chapek over the phone after the latter requested a meeting to discuss the Parental Rights in Education bill that recently passed the Florida legislature. The media and the left at large have been hyperventilating over it because it dares to stop teachers from discussing “gender ideology” and sexuality with small children.
Perhaps Disney, given its massive investment in the state, believed it could bend DeSantis to its will on the bill and get him to veto the legislation? Whatever the goal was, it didn’t go as planned for the mega-corporation. DeSantis refused to change his position,

Bob Chapek is doing two things here. He's virtue signaling to his noisy gay constituency; and, politically boosting the fortunes of the state's governor. Both parties know it. Disney needs the governor to keep the place open, and Florida needs the billions of dollars generated by the park and it's happy visitors. Nothing closes, people still visit. Nothing changes except for a new law and a lot of relieved parents. The rest is just chatter.

Chapek is following the Hollywood interpretation of the law which is totally false. He only knows what his ABC on air people say and we know what that means, he’s using misinformation!

Psst, Mr. Chapek, I refuse to buy any Disney products.
Walt Disney must be rolling over in his grave.

Why are all lie-berals massive perverts -- that insist on exposing young children to deviant sexual stuff?!?!?!?!?
Young children should be allowed to be innocent and just have fun while that very short part of their lives last. As adults, our jobs are to protect children, not to ram sexual perversions down their throats!!!
Thank you Gov. DeSantis and the Republican legislators of Florida for passing this common-sense law!!!!!

Because that is the next 'goal' #4 - 'normalizing' sex with children ( requires EARLY indoctrination ),
eventually leading to making it legal and from there it will move to acceptable !
This has been a goal for some time, it just hasn't been 'widely broadcast'.
It will use proven methodology ( used over the last 40+ years ) and it will succeed unless .........................

Disney has profited from the sexual exploitation of young girls for nearly a century, in addition to operating a relentless CommuNazi propaganda machine - making Disney one of the most evil corporations in the world.

Another reason DeSantis is my pick for 2024. He's young. smart, and agile at responding to the press and woke corporations.

#4, I find myself asking the same question. Why are leftists so darn open to foisting sexuality on children? All I can come up with is the rejecting of God in their lives. You certainly do not see the majority of them espousing religious values. It primarily is the more money you have the farther you are from God. Not all, but the vast majority. The Bible says it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter into Heaven.
Disney has lost its reputation as a family oriented place to enjoy. No one does imagination better than Disney, but they have lost a lot of fans because of their progressive stances on social issues. It is a beautiful magical place but behind that facade is a host of progressive leftists tearing down the very foundation of civilization, the family. It’s a shiny object that is rotten inside. Count on it, anytime an organization is filled with leftists, it will eventually turn to the dark side. It is especially troubling when they go after children and that is why our family does not support Disney. Leftism has destroyed it.

People will have to draw their own conclusions...but, I'm certain that every single Paedophile will agree with Chapek and the leaders of the Teachers Unions about this law.

America is founded on Christian morality, the same morality reflected in the position of DeSantis and the conservative side of his constituency.
Walt Disney Corp, OTOH, over its entire corporate history, has yet to produce a single feature film that promotes overtly Christian themes. However, their films have promoted every other religious ideology except Christianity. Consider that Gepetto prayed to a blue fairy for help, Mary Poppins twitched her magic nose to make cotton candy, Pocahontas celebrated indigenous animism in which every rock, tree, and creature has “…a life, a spirit, and a name…”, Moana used her own strength to fight demi-gods, and most recently, Liz Noceda explored her own bisexuality while searching for her own identity.
From that perspective, Walt Disney Corp, whether knowingly or unawares, has for its entire history ranked among the leaders in a behind-the-scenes blitz whose goal is the destruction of Christianity. This latest move by Chapek is merely one more push by Disney Corp in the same, societally destructive direction.

Governor DeSantis, obviously, is a happily married man who adores his children and makes his decisions based on concern for the common good.

Though I would like to think so, I doubt if Walt or Roy are spinning in their graves over the way their successors are trashing their good names and intentions. They don't give people on earth a thought. Behind every carnival barker is a nasty little guy just waiting to get, to do, or to show nasty stuff. The Wizard of Oz was a cautionary tale about going off the gold standard. Fairy tales are only that; sugar coated tales for fairies.

It's the sexualization of children. These creatures are pedophiles. They need to be removed from every aspect of life in America. They need to be registered sex offenders.
If you want to save your children gird up your loins and start calling it what it is. To everyone you know.

Grew up in FL before Disney came to Orlando. It was nice. It wouldn't be a big loss if they left.
Tax revenue would find a way into the state and the land would be freed up for other uses.

IT WAS AN ATTEMPT BY DISNEY TO SMOOTH OUT THEIR WOKE COMMUNITY..that's all this call was about...it's not about what's best for parents and their children...it's about Disney's profit margin...so happy my grandchildren got to Disney before all the woke damage by the elite corporate greed kicked in...I'm sure that some woke spiel was present when I was at disneyworld with my grandkids...but WE enjoyed happy fun and good times...

Re: #15 - Having moved from McCoy AFB in Orlando to Texas in '71, just prior to the opening of Disney World, I was thinking the same thing: Florida was doing very well before Disney World and would be fine without Disney World going forward. If their CEO was looking to apply leverage on DeSantis or Floridians, he holds zero cards. Side note: when flying in or out of Orlando's airport, you may notice the airport's three letter IATA code is MCO. That came from the airport's origins in sharing runways and taxiways with McCoy Air Force Base. After the base closed, the city assumed all of McCoy's land and facilities.

I went to Disney World once back in 1980 before the magic kingdom was even finished. My son had absolutely no interest in visiting the place when he was young. Outside of the movie Jungle Book, and Toy Story, he knew nothing about any Disney characters. He simply wasn't interested. I have no interest in going back, and the last time I saw Disney World, I was flying over it going home.
