Leaders in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates declined calls with President Biden as the war in Ukraine intensified, Middle East and U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday. "There was some expectation of a phone call, but it didn't happen," a U.S. official told the Journal regarding a call between Biden and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. "It was part of turning on the spigot [of Saudi oil]." UAE leader Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also declined a call from Biden, according to the officials. Officials told the outlet that US relations with the two Gulf countries have been strained over the Biden administration's lack

The Hill must have missed the paragraph in the Journal's article that pointed out that both Saudi Arabia and the Emirates took calls from Putin last week after rejecting Biden’s attempt. And, they also spoke with Ukraine's president.

OPEC isn't going to adjust its negotiated production to support the US or West. They were pressured to do so to support higher market prices so Western producers could turn a profit. And now it goes kaflooey on the West. Oil well over $100, some say headed to $200/bbl. BTW: Whatever happened to those loaded tankers used for surplus storage when oil prices were sub-$50 not long ago?

Ron DeSantis Lights Disney on Fire After

On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida met with Disney CEO Bob Chapek over the phone after the latter requested a meeting to discuss the Parental Rights in Education bill that recently passed the Florida legislature. The media and the left at large have been hyperventilating over it because it dares to stop teachers from discussing “gender ideology” and sexuality with small children. Perhaps Disney, given its massive investment in the state, believed it could bend DeSantis to its will on the bill and get him to veto the legislation? Whatever the goal was, it didn’t go as planned for the mega-corporation. DeSantis refused to change his position,

London - U.S. petroleum inventories are depleting to critically low levels as output fails to keep pace with the rapid rebound in consumption after the pandemic, putting intense upward pressure on oil prices. Petroleum inventories were depleting at an unsustainable rate even before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the disruption of Russia’s petroleum exports in response. U.S. inventories of crude oil and refined products outside the strategic petroleum reserve have fallen in 63 out of the last 88 weeks according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Commercial stocks have depleted by a total of 315 million barrels since the middle of 2020, more than offsetting the 204 million barrels accumulated

It’s time to admit it. Less than a year in, Joe Biden’s is a failed presidency. Biden knows it, the press knows it, and voters know it. And our foreign adversaries like China and Russia know it. It’s also time to look at the “cabal” of business, labor and political leaders who foisted the Biden administration on us. Musk was criticizing ESG, a European Union-sponsored checklist of 'environmental, social and governance' criteria companies are supposed to keep in mind when making decisions about what to invest in. If firms comply with the rules, they are given an EU stamp of approval that investors can use to weigh their decisions - which often results in increased investment.

Russia has confirmed its use of a thermobaric weapon system, or "vacuum" bombs, during Putin's invasion of Ukraine, the UK Ministry of Defense said Wednesday. Vacuum bombs disperse explosive material over a large area that uses surrounding oxygen as fuel when it detonates, creating a blast wave that lasts far longer than conventional explosives. Thermobaric bombs are capable of sucking the air out of person's lungs, causing them to fill with liquid, or causing a person's lungs to rupture or explode. "The impact of the [TOS-1A] is devastating," the UK Ministry of Defense said in a video. "It can destroy infrastructure and cause significant damage to internal organs

Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine will be remembered as one of the great crimes of the 21st century. The ensuing humanitarian crisis has already caused more than two million refugees to flee their homeland. With the imposition of sanctions, policymakers will have to weigh their political options as a rise in energy prices may trigger food shortages in the coming European fall, and lead to an even worse catastrophe in Africa and other developing countries. Under such circumstances, it’s easy to see the current war in Ukraine in Manichean terms. But once the conflict ends or devolves into a guerrilla war, national identity, geopolitics, and economics, not abstract principle

The RNC called the subpoena a “fishing expedition" that could expose its strategies and personal information of its members and donors. One of the dumbest stories currently happening in the country involves the Parental Rights in Education bill, which recently made it through the Florida legislature. It is now headed to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ desk, and he’s promised to sign it into law. So, why is a bill that simply provides more power to parents and more accountability to educators being so maligned? The answer is that it dares to disallow teaching sexual and gender ideology to Pre-K through third-grade students (that translates to ages 3-7). I know — the absolute horror of small children not being exposed to such things without parental involvement, right?

President Biden’s announcement that the United States will ban imports of Russian oil caused the price of crude to surge on Tuesday morning. However, the pain that Americans are set to feel at the gas pump could eventually be offset if Congress were to pass Biden’s Build Back Better agenda, a new study finds. An analysis released Tuesday by the nonpartisan think tank Energy Innovation finds that the climate change provisions of Biden’s now-defunct proposal, such as tax credits for buying new electric vehicles, would have reduced U.S. oil consumption by 2025 by half of the roughly 200,000 barrels of crude oil from Russia
