We’re living in transformative times. The country has moved away from Christian principles, and that migration includes institutions of faith. Of course, there are differing iterations of Christianity; but the most traditional one is being fervently phased out. Case in point: On Valentine’s Day, Gordon College welcomed speaker Marvin Daniels. Marvin is the executive director of community development organization The Hope Center. Per its official website, the Missouri nonprofit trains “high school, middle school, and elementary students from over 15 campuses across the city in servant leadership and character development.”

The action to cancel the speaker for expressing the hard truth of Christian morals is plain apostasy. Those that protested in favor of the transgender ideology are phonies pretending to profess Christian love while denying the power of the real love of God. The cancelers know not Christ.

Gordon College probably supports the alphabet mafia and abortion. In which case they are not a Christian college but a woke satan worshiping den of demons, and anything but Christian.

Dude doesn't know his audience. He seems to think they are about 40 years older than they really are. He's not wrong in what he said, but he said it to the wrong audience. Snowflakes can't handle that kind of talk. Gives 'em the vapors.

What a pity. Gordon was once a great Christian college. I have heard it referenced many times by converts to Catholicism on EWTN's "Journey Home" program. IIRC, the host Marcus Grodi studied there. Obviously Satan has been busy infiltrating all Christian educational institutions, not just the once-great Catholic universities like Notre Dame, Georgetown and Fordham. As it has been down through the millennia, it will be the laity that saves the Faith. After the victories of the two world wars the West fell into the complacency springing from peace and prosperity. Good people believed that evil had been vanquished forever, and "first world" wars of domination were relegated to the deep recesses of history. Modern man would rise above petty human nature. A wonderful dream to be sure, but a dream none-the-less as long as man's Original Sin of lusting to be like God remains in unrepentant souls. Full of abundant hubris, those who embraced rationalism set about to reorder mankind and even the planet itself. However, by ignoring Natural Law they laid their foundations on the shifting sands of convenience. God's Laws will not be mocked nor ignored. Our Creator has placed each of us in this specific time and place. We all have our individual combination of talents that are needed at this moment. Our unique voice that must be heard; unique actions that must be taken. The story of humanity's struggle is not over. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the 40 days of Lent. It is a universal time to step away from the world; to pray and mediate, fast and give alms. We follow Christ through His 40 days in the desert, and will also be tempted by Satan with earthly bread, political power and testing God's promises. Christ retreated from the world to prepare for public ministry and His Sacrifice on the Cross. And so, we too, must retreat from the world and seek the guidance and wisdom of the Father and the Holy Spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ. Then we will take up the tasks God asks of us with joy and peace in our hearts. For we know this world is fleeting and the only meaning our journey will have will be in conforming our lives to Christ, even unto death. A terrific Lenten activity is supporting "40 Days for Life". Once again this Lenten season there will be hundreds of peaceful prayer vigils outside of Planned Parenthood and other abortionaries. Some of these vigils go 24 hours for the full 40 days. These vigils particularly need men for the late night/early morning hours. Check the website for vigil near you. If you can't commit to a scheduled time, stop by anyway and join the prayer for however long you can. I've attended many of these vigils and they are grace filled. Obviously, the college in question can no longer call itself a "Christian College"! When Students start demanding change to core principles, it's obvious that there is no education going on.

The students wanted his series cancelled because they claim he spreads "hate". Based on photos of students from that school and photos of Marvin Daniels of Hope Center that are online, I'd say the students are guilty of hate and racism (I can play their game too).

While this doesn’t surprise me it saddens me. The New Testament quoted Jesus saying to the church at laodicea Revelation 3:16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. I’m praying for Christian colleges to stop supporting the great Babylon.

“Seven million women died last year because they didn’t have access to abortion.” This was the absurd claim by a pro-abortion activist testifying in opposition to Nebraska’s Legislative Bill (LB) 933, the Human Life Protection Act. (snip) I was conceived in rape but adopted in love. I grew up in a diverse family of fifteen, where ten of us were adopted. Many of us were rescued from the violence of abortion. We’re white, black, mixed, Native American, Vietnamese, abled and disabled. Despite the horrific circumstances most of us came from, none of us would’ve been better off dead. We were all better off loved.

China asked Vladimir Putin to delay any invasion of Ukraine until after the Winter Olympics in Beijing, according to a Western intelligence report. It suggests officials in China may have had some indication of Mr Putin's plans before he went ahead. Beijing denied the assertion as "baseless speculation" and an "attempt to smear China". A Western official told the New York Times the report did not make clear if it was Putin and Xi Jinping who discussed the matter, or some of their officials. The Olympic closing ceremony took place on Feb 20. On the following day Putin recognised two breakaway areas in Ukraine and sent troops in to help separatists.

Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the season of Lent for Catholics around the world. On this day, priests smear ashes on millions of foreheads while uttering some version of the words, "Remember, man, thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return." Perhaps this year the ritual should be reversed, with the faithful lining up to administer ashes to priests and bishops until their white surplices are covered with an unmistakable reminder of their own mortality.

A Black female journalist with The Washington Post is speaking out after the publication's director of video misidentified her as Breonna Taylor—the Black woman whose 2020 police killing in Louisville, Kentucky sparked numerous protests and whose name became a rallying cry during the Black Lives Matter demonstrations. In a Twitter thread posted late Sunday, Micah Gelman, who heads the Post's video team, accidentally named video technician Breanna Muir as Breonna Taylor while thanking his team for their coverage of the war in Ukraine. In Muir's first post to LinkedIn, which she called "disheartening" given the circumstances, she said she felt the need to stand up for herself after being misidentified.

Camille Henderson said she was sitting near row 15 window during a Feb. 3 flight from Atlanta to San Francisco when the women, who were sitting in the aisle and middle seats in the row next to her, said they had first-class tickets, ABC 7 reported. “They felt like they were ticketed first-class seats, but they couldn’t provide the tickets,” Henderson told the news outlet, adding that the women continued the complaints for over an hour.

Nearly every Senate Democrat voted in favor of legislation Monday which would have radically expanded abortion rights beyond even the Supreme Court’s ruling in Roe v. Wade. The Women’s Health Protection Act would have forced every state to allow abortions for any reason until at least the point of viability, generally defined at around six months into a pregnancy, and banned most restrictions on abortion up to the point of birth. Every Republican voted against the bill, and every Democrat except Sen. Joe Manchin voted in favor, NBC News reported.

One of the questions asked over and over about Putin’s callous invasion of an inoffensive neighbor, an invasion that is mysteriously rationalized by an amazing number of people on the right who were apoplectic over Trudeau’s brutality with the Freedom Convoy, is what was his objective. It’s obvious that he was torqued about Ukraine flirting with EU and NATO membership, but if he wanted regime change, a few million dollars, an AstroTurfed mob, and a GRU or Spetsznaz hit squad could have accomplished that (look at how easily Putin installed his previous stooge, Yanukovych) with much less melodrama and loss of life.

One of the oddest commentaries about the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the boilerplate reaction that “borders can’t change in modern Europe” or “this does not happen in the 21st century.” But why in the world should the 21st century be exempt from the pathologies of the past 20 centuries? Are we smarter than the Romans? More innovative than Florentines? Do we have more savvy leaders than Lincoln or Churchill? Are they more mellifluous than Demosthenes? Does anyone now remember that some 130,000 were slaughtered just 30 years ago in the former Yugoslavia, as NATO planes bombed Belgrade and nuclear America and Russia almost squared off?
