A black woman has accused Delta Air Lines of discrimination after a flight attendant allegedly asked her to move to the back of a plane to make room for two white women. Camille Henderson said she was sitting near row 15 window during a Feb. 3 flight from Atlanta to San Francisco when the women, who were sitting in the aisle and middle seats in the row next to her, said they had first-class tickets, ABC 7 reported. “They felt like they were ticketed first-class seats, but they couldn’t provide the tickets,” Henderson told the news outlet, adding that the women continued the complaints for over an hour.

New rule for Delta. Never inconvenience a black person when you can inconvenience two white women instead. Policy change to be announced soon.

I'm sure the flight attendant thought she was defusing a situation by accommodating the two white Karens and just made it worse. The black woman shouldn't have had to move, at least as far as I can tell.

I used to be a frequent flyer and have seen idiocy like this quite often. Some people do not understand the concept of assigned seats, others take seats they want and then ask the originally assigned person if it's okay. In this instance the woman should have moved and kept her mouth shut, this was not a big deal. People stuffing multiple carry-on bags in your overhead space or under your seat, that's a big deal. Unruly children running around, that's a big deal. People tend to blame the airline but it's usually the passengers who are at fault. I gave up this flying nonsense permanently.

If they couldn't provide tickets, how were they allowed to board the plane?? I would not have been happy either, if asked to move for two people that couldn't provide tickets. It is a big deal.

Wait a minute. Did they have 1st class tickets or didn't they. They should have had boarding ticket stubs. Did the stubs show the 1st class assignments or not? Did they pay for 1st class seats or not? Did they book 1st class tickets or not. Ticket purchases are recorded. The newspaper article is missing information. The women are not supplying the information. You just can't sit in airline seats where you wish. You sit in seats you are assigned. Did Delta overbook the seats? The women obviously are either lying or have been wronged. Produce the information women, Delta. Right now without the women producing evidence Delta has to be assumed right. Or is seat equity now the rule of air travel regardless of what you paid for?

The last flight I booked with Delta was last minute. My company paid $2,500 for a round trip from Mpls to LA. I asked for an upgrade. I told the ticket counter I should be sitting in the Pilot Chair with a Stew. In my lap at the price I paid! She laughed…I got row 32…

This kind of thing happened to me many years ago. I got last moment tickets to go home as an airline employee (different airline). Some nice lady went ballistic that I was in her seat. I jumped up and profusely apologized (she kept ranting) I told the attendant it was no biggie, I'd wait for the next and that I was flying cat (don't remember the code). He smiled and made a big show of helping me off the plane....well at least until we got to first class..he told me to hang tight. I kept saying it really wasn't a problem. He got a 'go ahead' and put me in 1st class. So on taxi he asked what I wanted to drink, I pointed out it was fine. He said, you get the whole treatment. :) He mentioned how happy he was that I had defused her and that travel agents really shouldn't promised what they can't deliver.

From what I read, the two white women MAY have had 1st class tickets. Not sure because they could not produce them (???). The attendant ASKED if the black women could move to the back. If she produce her ticket that shows she paid for that seat, I would tell the attendant NO! Sounds to me that the black women wanted to make this racial.

She isn't complaining about discrimination; she is complaining about not getting special treatment because she is black. A white person in her seat would have been asked to move, too. Also, she could have refused, presumably.

It’s hard to keep up with what we’re allowed to think, say, and do. What’s a woman? If we are supposed to believe all women, but sex and gender are merely social constructs, do we have to believe everyone? If women have rights, why do unborn women not? If women are oppressed, why do male athletes keep turning into them? If the patriarchy is real and evil, why do women want to join it? If you’re a willing participant in the patriarchy, as opposed to someone who just happened into it, does that make you worse? If you’re a transgender male, do you hate yourself for being in the patriarchy?

China asked Vladimir Putin to delay any invasion of Ukraine until after the Winter Olympics in Beijing, according to a Western intelligence report. It suggests officials in China may have had some indication of Mr Putin's plans before he went ahead. Beijing denied the assertion as "baseless speculation" and an "attempt to smear China". A Western official told the New York Times the report did not make clear if it was Putin and Xi Jinping who discussed the matter, or some of their officials. The Olympic closing ceremony took place on Feb 20. On the following day Putin recognised two breakaway areas in Ukraine and sent troops in to help separatists.
