Bear Woznick is a World Champion tandem surfer, a ninja black belt, a licensed pilot, a scuba diver, a skydiver, and a member of the Catholic Sports Faith International Hall of Fame. He has ridden a bicycle from San Diego to Jacksonville, Florida. He has run with the bulls in Pamplona and dealt with another type of bull in Hollywood, appearing on Hawaii 5-0 and Clean Break. He is, in other words, not exactly the type of man that is in vogue today in our deeply confused and wrongheaded culture.

Too many in our culture want men and women to be less than they are, rather than more than they are. Who came up with the term, "toxic masculinity"? Was it a man or a woman? I bet it was a man who wants to be less than he is.

Liberals are the ones always inventing terms to fit their narratives, such as “toxic masculinity.” The rest of the stuff they come up with cannot fit into this space.

Amen #6 I have been in this planet over 70 years and have not met one of these sexual freaks. Perhaps they are prevalent in the dim run big city Sodoms and they are portrayed in the perverted sensationalist media as common place. Maybe anectdotal but, just like the media cries of racism, it doesn't exist in any area I have frequented

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has taken center stage in regard to world events over the last week. Naturally, that means a lot of really terrible takes from way-too online individuals have gone forth. RedState covered a few of these recently (see here and here). But while it’s easy to dunk on blue-check Twitter users who obviously don’t know anything, Alexander Vindman’s nonsense stands in a category of its own.

One of the questions asked over and over about Putin’s callous invasion of an inoffensive neighbor, an invasion that is mysteriously rationalized by an amazing number of people on the right who were apoplectic over Trudeau’s brutality with the Freedom Convoy, is what was his objective. It’s obvious that he was torqued about Ukraine flirting with EU and NATO membership, but if he wanted regime change, a few million dollars, an AstroTurfed mob, and a GRU or Spetsznaz hit squad could have accomplished that (look at how easily Putin installed his previous stooge, Yanukovych) with much less melodrama and loss of life.

One of the oddest commentaries about the Russian invasion of Ukraine is the boilerplate reaction that “borders can’t change in modern Europe” or “this does not happen in the 21st century.” But why in the world should the 21st century be exempt from the pathologies of the past 20 centuries? Are we smarter than the Romans? More innovative than Florentines? Do we have more savvy leaders than Lincoln or Churchill? Are they more mellifluous than Demosthenes? Does anyone now remember that some 130,000 were slaughtered just 30 years ago in the former Yugoslavia, as NATO planes bombed Belgrade and nuclear America and Russia almost squared off?

“When statesmen forsake their own private conscience for the sake of their public duties, they lead their country by a short route to chaos.” —Robert Bolt, “A Man for All Seasons." Sir Thomas More’s pronouncement above correctly states the danger to a nation when our leaders don’t follow their conscience, but it is silent on the danger when men of conscience such as More are themselves silenced. A statesman died last week who did not sacrifice his conscience, and paid a price for it.

The most recent development in the ongoing debate over transgender wokeism comes to us from Texas and it may light a fire that’s been coming for a long time. Governor Greg Abbott has directed various state agencies to promptly investigate instances of “transitional” medical procedures being performed on children under the state’s child abuse laws and prosecute those found to be engaged in such practices. Of course, when the Boston Globe covered this story, they chose to describe such procedures as “gender-affirming care.”

In a video recorded on February 5 at around noon, the unidentified suspect is seen lashing out an expletive-filled rant at the victim in the fast-food restaurant's parking lot in Richmond, California. The furious woman, who seems to be working in nursing care due to the hospital scrubs that she was wearing, allegedly accused the victim of cutting in front of her in the drive-through. The suspect's anger escalated, and she started throwing items, including a water bottle, at the other car, as the terrified mother-of-two continued recording with her three and five-year-old sons.

The Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear a case over whether a wedding website designer can decline to provide services to same-sex couples under Colorado's anti-discrimination law. Lori Smith, a Christian graphic artist and webpage designer, is seeking to expand her services to create webpages for weddings but argues her religious convictions prevent her from making websites for same-sex couples. Her standpoint conflicts with Colorado's civil rights laws requiring businesses to be accessible to all clients regardless of sexual orientation.

As RedState has reported, Russia has officially thumbed its nose at Joe Biden and invaded Ukraine. That happened after Vladimir Putin formerly recognized regions of Eastern Ukraine as autonomous, setting up the pretext to move in troops across the border as a peacekeeping force. The administration has responded by quibbling about the definition of “invasion,” and signing a toothless executive order to sanction financial dealings in the Donbas and other regions now officially occupied by Russia. (snip) Regardless, what we do know is that Biden, for his proclamations of Putin being afraid of him, has been thoroughly embarrassed, having a Russian invasion of Europe take place on his watch.

Billionaire Democrat megadonor George Soros says the United States, and other transatlantic nations, must “do whatever is in their power” to back Ukraine against Russia in the ongoing conflict overseas. As the midterm 2022 elections approach, the expectation is that, with thirty Democrat House retirements and the continued unraveling of the Biden Administration, the Dems are about to experience historic losses in both the House and Senate. However, the evil geniuses within the Democrat party have identified the Fourteenth Amendment as a vehicle to thwart Republican dreams of achieving a massive political realignment. Therefore, it may be shortsighted to count the one-time party of Jefferson as down-and-out until the last glimmering frenzy has been extinguished. In 1868, the Fourteenth Amendment was amended to add Section 3, also known as the Disqualification Clause.

I’m having a problem using the president’s formal title and name together. It’s not a matter of Republican disrespect for a Democrat. I referred to both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton by their presidential titles. It’s a matter of legitimacy. Over half of all Americans now believe that fraud affected the outcome of the last Presidential election. The Arizona election audit didn’t prove that the Donald won, as many hoped. But it did prove that we don’t really know who won that state. Given the election shenanigans around the country in November 2020, there is certainly justification to question the outcome.
