Germany to send Ukraine weapons in historic
shift on military aid

Original Article

Germany on Saturday reversed a historic policy of never sending weapons to conflict zones, saying the Russian invasion of Ukraine was an epochal moment that imperiled the entire post-World War II order across Europe. The decision was an abrupt change in course, coming after Berlin clung to its initial position for weeks despite the rising Russian menace and pressure from EU and NATO allies. On Saturday, Berlin finally bowed to that pressure, and to the reality that Russia is encircling Ukrainian cities and threatening to topple the government in Kyiv.

This a terrible new dimension to the conflict people do not understand. Continually feeding in high tech deadly weapons, arming untrained civilians witch automatic weapons and Molotov cocktails will turn Ukraine into another Syria. Russia will now go all out. They’ve been somewhat restrained taking casualties not using massed artillery bombardment just discreet missile and air strikes. If they can’t fly over and have to protect their armor due to these weapons showing up large numbers then they will pound them with long range artillery with minimal risk but terrible damage. The Russians may be behind the West in tech, comm and aircraft but way ahead in artillery. Germany getting involved just raises the emotional stakes for Russian solders who lost family members in WWII. The news just keeps getting worse. If you haven’t already, start praying. This isn’t Iraq or Afghanistan where the stakes were minimal to the West.

Russians tanks/Trucks/APCs are already running out of fuel...likely shells soon as well. There are several videos of random Ukraine civilians stopping by them on the roads and making fun of them...saying, surrender now I'll give you a ride to town. The Troops do not even know where they are, where they are going. Without a supply line they are now trapped. Putin may end up looking like Custer...

Someone said "The russians remember fighting the Germans and..." Much of that took PLACE in the Ukraine...Russians played a slow retreat/scorched earth eastward across Ukraine, taking the factory equipt. flooding the mines, taking all of the crops, killing all the livestock, seizing supplies, destroying all of the infrastructure...Nazi held the area for 2-3 years...then the Russians in turn pushed THEM back west...while the Germans did the same scorched earth retreat as they went.

Even though I believe, #7, that I know almost everything, I do not know much about the SWIFT system or cryptocurrency. But couldn't the dark market cryptocurrency stuff sustain Putin? I clicked on MSNBC ;last night, and Rachel Maddow was interviewing a former info girl from the State Department. The info girl was jumping up and down with delight, saying that we had financially shut down Putin completely, sort of like canceling his visa card, I guess, so that he could not even travel outside of Russia. And Rachel ,who knows better, was about to wet herself with glee, as she praised the info girl.. A head of State, unless under indictment, goes any damned where he wants to, in the world, with full diplomatic immunity, Putin probably travels with a ton of gold or so, and doesn't need a Visa card. It offends me that Rachel Maddow would go along with State Department lies. She knows better.

Sometimes an opinion pops into my head that I know probably isn’t going to go over very well with some of the readers here at RedState, but hey, what kind of writer would I be if I was that easily swayed? So, if you disagree with what I’m about to say, live and let die on this one, and our minds will meet back up on the next one. And on that note, the American trucker convoy headed toward Washington, D.C., to disrupt Joe Biden’s State of the Union address is a really bad idea. I know, I know, but hear me out. No doubt, I was a strong supporter of the Freedom Convoy in Canada.

Belarus votes to give up non-nuclear status 4 replies

Voters in Belarus have approved constitutional reforms that will allow the country to host nuclear weapons at a time when the former Soviet republic has become a launchpad for Russian troops invading Ukraine. Russian news agencies on Monday cited the Belarusian elections commission as saying that some 65.2 percent of people who took part in a referendum voted in favour of the change. The agencies said voter turnout stood at 78.63 percent. The result came as little surprise, given the tightly controlled rule of President Alexander Lukashenko. It could bring nuclear weapons back on Belarusian soil for the first time since the country gave them up after the fall of the Soviet Union
Russia's nuclear weapons threat raises

Russia's violent invasion of Ukraine has upped Western fears of a potential nuclear conflict. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday ordered his country's deterrence forces, including nuclear weapons, be put on higher alert, citing so-called threats from the West as Moscow continues to push into Ukraine.   A senior United States defense official said on Sunday of Putin's order, "It's clearly, essentially, putting in play forces that, if there's a miscalculation, could make things much, much more dangerous."   The official also told reporters the U.S. has "no reason" to doubt Putin's new order, which they called "unnecessary" and "escalatory."
Ukraine invasion: Would Putin press the
nuclear button?

Posted by Dreadnought 2/27/2022 10:59:11 PM Post Reply
Let me begin with an admission. So many times, I've thought: "Putin would never do this." Then he goes and does it. "He'd never annex Crimea, surely?" He did. "He'd never start a war in the Donbas." He did. "He'd never launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine." He has. I've concluded that the phrase "would never do" doesn't apply to Vladimir Putin. And that raises an uncomfortable question: "He'd never press the nuclear button first. Would he?" It's not a theoretical question. Russia's leader has just put his country's nuclear forces on "special" alert, complaining of "aggressive statements" over Ukraine by Nato leaders. Listen closely to what President Putin has been saying.

I’m heartbroken. Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine has unsettled me in a way that even the life-changing COVID-19 pandemic hadn’t. I lived in the Ukrainian capital from 2004 to 2006 – two of the best years of my journalism career and two very happy years of my life. I ran The Associated Press' Kyiv bureau, having arrived there from my previous AP reporting job in Moscow. My Ukrainian colleagues became good friends. They were patient with my often stumbling Russian and my endless questions. Even the camo-wearing, gun-toting guard who responded to our office alarm every time I accidentally tripped it when working too early, or too late, was kind. Weekends, I explored Kyiv.

Three-fourths of Americans say the economy is in bad shape, and 6 in 10 say they are feeling the brutal boot of inflation — now at a 40-year high. A paltry 17% say they are better off under Biden. As the midterm 2022 elections approach, the expectation is that, with thirty Democrat House retirements and the continued unraveling of the Biden Administration, the Dems are about to experience historic losses in both the House and Senate. However, the evil geniuses within the Democrat party have identified the Fourteenth Amendment as a vehicle to thwart Republican dreams of achieving a massive political realignment. Therefore, it may be shortsighted to count the one-time party of Jefferson as down-and-out until the last glimmering frenzy has been extinguished. In 1868, the Fourteenth Amendment was amended to add Section 3, also known as the Disqualification Clause.

Word from the battlegrounds in Ukraine is scattered and cannot always be confirmed, but some credible accounts give every indication that Putin may have blundered and faces a stronger defense than he (or the Biden administration) imagined possible. The bravery of a former comedian elected the Ukrainian President and a multimillionaire former boxing champion, now the mayor of Kyiv, who refused flight and stayed to defend their homeland at great risk of their lives, is part of the story. But to my mind, the memory of the Holodomor in which Russia’s Stalin starved to death millions of Ukrainians plays an even greater role and explains why so many ordinary citizens
