Ukrainian officials have published dozens of videos of what they say are captured Russian soldiers, as the brutal fighting in Ukraine enters its fourth day.
In one of the videos, published early on Sunday morning on the Telegram channel Find Your Own, set up by Ukraine’s interior ministry, a visibly injured soldier identifies himself as Leonid Paktishev, the commander of a sniper unit based in the Rostov region.
The Telegram channel, which first went live on Saturday, has posted numerous videos and photos showing captured Russian troops, which have led to an outcry from their families who say they were shocked to find out about the involvement of their loved ones

Apparently there's some extra combat pay as well as higher benefits for families of dead Russian soldiers.
So Putin lies about the whereabouts of Russian troops alive and dead.
They really are cannon fodder.
Their families are useful idiots.
Putin is saving money this way and that's what he cares about.
I wonder where he keeps his personal fortune?

So where are the portable cremation trailers the ruskies are hauling around Ukraine...to cremate their dead so the bodies will not be shown on rusky tv? Pootin does not want to bring the bodies of his dead military back home where the families will learn the demise of their loved ones. I saw this story on FNC late last week. Sick fatherless devils those ruskies...or should I say the evil one.

The weapons fit the story....Dragunov or SVD "sniper" rifles, although we would consider them more a designated marksman's rifle, not accurate enough for what we use snipers for.

So Russia isn't the lion they portray to be, are they? Good on Ukraine.

Putin tried being the moderate leader to the outside world in order to be accepted into the world community. I am sure this rankled the Russian bear but he was attempting to fit in in order to get a seat at the table for the benefit of his country. All along he knew he was going to resurrect what he considered to be his Russia, the old Soviet Union. Then along came Joe…everything changed. He knew he could invade Ukraine with little pushback. What he didn’t factor in was the world’s opinion of his attack. I don’t see how he comes out of this with any other description than of being a monster. He may not care but if he continues to escalate the situation and commits genocide the world will be revolted and he will become a pariah at best, a war criminal most likely. If he is, as some have said, becoming mentally impaired, Russia may intercede in order to protect its people. When you see demonstrations in Russia against his invasion, it seems his time may be up. Whether he is ousted by another strong armed tyrant or someone more moderate, Putin may be in trouble.

Putin has dragged Russia into another Afghanistan. Even if he takes Kiev [sic], the occupying troops will be subjected to relentless guerilla attacks for years to come. Casualties will be significant, and the day will come that he will regret this decision.

Nice to see some intelligent comments here about what an evil POS Putin is, instead of the fan boy comments about "rooting for Putin" because he's fighting the New World Order or something equally stupid.

Let's now go back to not calling them Russians but Soviets. Keep this proper it's not Putin riding shirtless on a galloping horse it's more like he mounted a jackass pulling his collar up around his mousey ears in shame. MUGA

Why should a Russian family be shocked that one of their children who is in the military is fighting in a war?

Never good for a Sniper to be captured... usually they die at the hands of their captors, and if they survive that they'll be forever shamed by their own military for being lousy at their craft.

Let's all join and pray that Ukraine prevails, and that this will be the moment the bear is gutted, and that all its constituent regions break into insignificant, squabbling 3rd-world states.
Then we will have only one dangerous adversary left: China, with the totalitarian Xi Jinping at its helm.
I'm sure that putting him back in his place will be a piece of cake!

Putin got it half right. He figured out the United States' response well. He just miscalculated on Ukraine's and the rest of the former Russian satellites' response. They really hate communism and don't want to go back to the bad old days. All the Karens and woke people in the USA still think communism sounds like a good idea.

What the Russian people will never forgive Putin once it eventually learns what really is going on in Ukraine is how he forced Germany to once again become a major military power. That is almost as bad as reducing everyone in Russia to a pauper.
Bad Mad Vlad’s days are numbered. There is no end game that includes him.
