Donald Trump praised Vladimir Putin's plan to invade Ukraine as 'genius' and called the Russian leader 'very savvy' on Tuesday, hours after he put out a statement saying Russia would have never invaded Ukraine under his watch. Speaking with conservative podcaster Buck Sexton, the former president said: 'I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, "This is genius,"' Trump recalled. 'Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine -- Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful.''I said, "How smart is that?'" the former U.S. president continued. 'And he’s gonna go in and be a peacekeeper. That’s the strongest peace force…

The last thing we need is for Biden to send American troops to the border. He would only use them to effectively install martial law over American citizens and bring in even more invaders. I sometimes wonder if Trump has the mistaken idea that Biden is on the American side.

Biden by supporting corrupt activities in Ukraine involving his family members and others has compromised himself to the Russians. Anyone who does not recognize the fact that the Russian intelligence and security services have not known all about the corrupt activities that Biden and his family have perpetrated in Ukraine over the years, facilitated by Biden’s high positions in the US Government, don’t have a clue as to how intelligence and security services operate.
In reality the corrupt activities that Biden and the Democrats have fraudulently projected on Trump, including Biden’s remarks relative to Trump having supposedly being involved in corruption involving China during a nationally broadcast presidential debate, that after a long look are not worth a hill of beans, and you can safely bet that the Chinese and Russian intelligence and security services have not figured that out. Who is to say that since Biden and the Democrats have been slandering Putin and Russia for so long that at the right time that the Russians will not blow the whistle on Biden big-time?

These leftists read this article as Trump supporting Putin's actions. They are morons. Trump is not supporting what Putin did. He is stating the obvious fact that Putin took a large chunk of Ukraine without firing a shot. Trump clearly stated that he would have prevented Putin from doing this. Under weak Obama, Putin takes Crimea. Under feckless Biden, Putin takes these provinces. Under Trump as US president, Putin took nothing. See a pattern here?

Pssst these areas declared themselves "Independent" loooong ago, 70% or more speak Russian as their 1st language, though only 40-45% are Ethnically Russian. They FOUGHT an actual all out war with the "Otherside" of Ukraine in 2014, when BIDEN was VP.(and his son was trying to make the BIG money by fronting for the Oligarchs the war was against, the ones who took control of the formerly Russian companies, raped the land for Gas and Coal, providing appox 30% of Ukraine's GDP while paying the locals peanuts and denying them National services. The $87k a MONTH that they paid hunter was more than entire working families there make in 2 years). It was "Russian" since about 1290, except for when Hitler occupied it '41-'42, The Red army retook it in '43...they became "Independent" from the USSR in '91...started rethinking that decision by '94 when under Clinton the US backed puppets started ignoring them and their needs. Have voted several times to break away from Ukraine, become independent, and/or rejoin the Russian Federation.

Biden is pulling an Obama by pretsnding he will push back with all possible Exective actions (other than sending in troops) but in fact will do as little as possible. He thinks we are too stupid to realize what a feckless weakling he is.

Thank you for the information #6.
A part of my decision regarding how I feel about this situation is based upon who is for it. I look around and see the same people, Democrats and war mongering Rinos, calling for a military response. Have they ever been right? Then I look at the totally corrupt Joe Biden who is unfit as we have unfortunately seen in Afghanistan, and totally incompetent in a military situation. Then finally, the hypocrisy of an open border created by this fool with no intention of protecting our sovereignty confirms my objection to what I believe is a convenient “wag the dog” scenario to distract Americans from Biden’s massive failures. No more American lives sacrificed on the altar of political corruption.

To "Build Back Better" one has to destroy the existing structure and this administration along with several Republicans is busy doing just that. A conflict with Russia not only destroys America but most of Europe as well. This administration has no clear objective(s) in antagonizing Russia. IF conflict becomes hot what is the end goal? The suppression and control over Russia and all her resources? Trump is absolutely correct in his statement.

Trump needs to back off stage, shut up and let the dims step on their di ks.
His statements can easily be mis-interpreted by the media as supporting Putin - not as criticizing bidet.
I recall the movie Patton where Bradley tells him his biggest enemy us his own mouth.

For what it's worth, stand behind Putin; he has to do this.
There's a much bigger conflict looming on the horizon, one that no one is discussing:
China's vast 'Belt and Road Initiative." Originally they referred to it as the "Belt and Road Strategy."
Ukraine's leaders have made agreements with China designating them as a hub of this web of economic influence.
Basically, Ukraine faces two choices for its future: the Russian Federation, or China.

Okay, FPDT...but there is one difference. Chihuahua, Sonora and Baja California haven't broken away from Mexico, and aren't highly populated by Americans to foment separation.
Quite the contrary. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California are former Mexican territories inhabited by those displaced by various treaties, and now invaded/reinforced by Mexican nationals, cartels and heaven knows who else, supported by Americans, including our national government.

Stalin killed the people in these regions in the 1930s because these kulaks resisted collectivization of their farms, and replaced them with Russian peasants. During the soviet times, speaking Ukrainian was repressed, speaking and writing Russian was required, taught in all schools.
About 15 years ago Putin gave Russian passports to anyone in Ukraine who wanted one, and it was mostly in those eastern provinces, which had been genocidally cleared of Ukrainians in the '30s, and where Russian agents had been fomenting unrest in the Russian speaking population. Then, around 8 or so years ago, he sent in troops and weapons and helped them start a war; "a struggle for freedom" according to Putin and some posters here. A struggle for "freedom" that was funded by Moscow, led by Moscow, with Russian weapons. The only thing that they will be free of is ......being out of Russia.
After a lot of Russian led medium level fighting for years.....now Putin "recognizes" his handiwork and officially moves in as "a peacekeeper". Mark my words, soon enough Russia will incorporate these rich agricultural lands into Russia, permanently. Another chunk of another country bitten off by Russia, while the world does little. Russia is huge, but has very little good agricultural land, most is unfarmable taiga, swampy forests in Siberia, too cold for most crops.
This kind of behavior emboldens tyrants. Hitler first took Austria because they speak German, and the Europeans though "this will be enough".
But then he took Sudenland, "because it was ethnic German", a portion of Czechoslovakia. The Europeans though "this will be enough".
Next, he took the rest of Czechoslovakia, and the Europeans thought "surely, this will be enough".
And he was emboldened that much more by their collective, massive weakness, so he took Poland....and then France.
History repeats. Let's watch and see how far down this hellish road we all go.
And the naysayers expect 'peace through weakness and cowardice', which has never, ever worked before. Maybe it will work this time? LOL.

No, #15...this "naysayer" says this is none of the US's business, And no one, including you, has made any cogent explanation of why it is a vital American interest. The "weakness and cowardice" is all on NATO and particularly our Euro allies. None of them will be there when it's crunch time, and that's obvious. They have no interest in a skirmish, let alone a war. The Croatians are honest about it; others not so much.
NATO's bare rear end is in full view, and Putin had that as a major priority. The alliance today is the US, not the effete Euros who cannot muster a credible force even in their own defense. And there's nothing 8000 crack American troops can or will do. But, we're defending "democracy" while at home American "democracy" is under greater assault from our own government. Let's not worry about that...just that shiny object over there.
This is exactly the sort of "European intrigue" and "perpetual alliance" George Washington warned about 220 years ago. But we're the leader of the "Free World", whatever that is these days...maybe Cuba North (Canada).

Putin is making chumps out of Biden. There is nothing to be done other than sanctions which Russia will willingly bear for enforcing their “Monroe Doctrine”. Posting troops, planes, tanks and equipment on NATOs borders to Ukraine only reinforces Russia’s concern about US/NATO intentions. People decry the 15,000 lives lost in the Donbas, but we lost 55,000 soldiers and the Vietnamese suffered a million casualties during that war half way round the world, not our doorstep. Why is nobody mentioning this? Our state department and political leadership have no clue how to navigate diplomatic and geopolitical crises. I thought when McCain was gone the Cold War mentality would end, but no, it’s gotten even worse since traditional anti-war Democrats have been forced into a war footing because their impeachment tried to falsely associate Trump and the Russians. There’s no rational diplomatic solution possible for the Biden administration as a result. Now people are going to get killed because of it.

#15 makes some very good points. What was our interest in Austria, Poland or Czechoslovakia? What about France? To bring it back to the present, what is our interest in Taiwan? And what message will our passivity on Ukraine send to China? At a minimum, we need to be supplying the opposition to Russia's incursion and imposing meaningful sanctions. But we shouldn't have to do it alone. Where is Europe in all of this?
