There's little support among Americans for a major U.S. role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, according to a new poll, even as President Joe Biden imposes new sanctions and threatens a stronger response that could provoke retaliation from Moscow.Biden has acknowledged a growing likelihood that war in Eastern Europe would affect Americans, though he has ruled out sending troops to Ukraine. Gas prices in the U.S. could rise in the short term. And Russian President Vladimir Putin has a range of tools he could use against the U.S., including cyberattacks hitting critical infrastructure and industries.

And what are the hawks prepared to do about Ukraine if Russia invades? Seriously. Are you going to see American troops committed? Or just pump arms into Ukraine, to undoubtedly fall into Russian hands if an invasion occurs? Send American troops to train...we've done that. To advise in active fighting? Sanction the oligarchs...? Some are just aching to give Putin and the Russkies a sock in the nose. I don't think 8000 American troops, even crack troops, will do that. But, hey, we can try - defending Ukrainian democracy...while our own withers before our eyes.

If Ukraine is stupid enough or crooked enough to pay a blank-load of dough to The Big Guy and his Druggie Son, that shouldn't be my problem. No one can guess where Ukraine got all that cash (ha ha) unless they got it from ''the east'' which was rumored to be flush with US currency somewhere in the 2016-2017 window of opportunity.

President Joe Biden’s administration is looking to divert United States Border Patrol agents from their mission at the U.S.-Mexico border to send them overseas “to assist” those fleeing from Ukraine amidst Russia’s invasion, a new report states.Even as illegal immigration continues pouring through the nation’s southern border at record levels, Biden hopes to entice Border Patrol agents to sign up voluntarily to aid American citizens, green card-holders, and their immediate relatives fleeing Ukraine into Eastern Europe.John Solomon at Just The News, who exclusively obtained the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) memo, detailed the effort dubbed “Operation Support Ukraine:”

President Joe Biden has been criticized after he stated outright that 'no one' expected sanctions that were imposed on Russia 'to prevent the invasion' of Ukraine. He made the candid remarks during Thursday afternoon's press conference over the situation in Eastern Europe. Reporters were quick to take the president to task over what appeared to be a changing stance on whether sanctions, economic or otherwise, were effective in any way. 'No one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening,' Biden said in what was a complete reversal to what he had said previously.

I have contended frequently that our jury system is woefully defective because unscrupulous prosecutors and personal injury lawyers can easily find uninformed and easily manipulated rubber stamps as opposed to the educated and responsible citizens envisioned by the Founding Fathers. Examples include, in my opinion, the prosecution of Kyle Rittenhouse despite the prosecution's own stipulation that the three men he shot were not only the initial aggressors but pursued Rittenhouse when he tried to retreat from the conflicts they started. Another was Scott Harshbarger (D-Mass.)'s prosecution and conviction of the Amiraults "to protect the children."

The word “inspiring” does not come to mind as a way of describing President Biden’s afternoon speech following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “Dispiriting” comes closer. The best Biden could do rhetorically was to declare that “America stands up to bullies” — as though the most dangerous moment in the past 20 years on the planet Earth were some kind of remake of the old movie “My Bodyguard.”Come on, man. Putin isn’t a bully. He’s either a lunatic pursuing a nation-murdering delusion or a man possessed of a world-historical ambition to make himself an equal in Russian history to the Greats, Peter and Catherine,

To the New York Times’s manifest despair, it seems that there is no evidence of an actual crime. In 2018, Cyrus Vance, Jr., Manhattan’s then-District Attorney, charged the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, with tax fraud allegedly related to overvaluing properties to obtain bank loans.
