Earlier today I credited Alexander Vindman with the hottest take on Ukraine. Vindman blamed Russia’s aggression on conservative pundits in the United States. Because we have so much influence on the Biden administration, apparently. But yesterday my old law professor Larry Tribe went Vindman one better with this bizarre tweet. Which, by the way, was published at 4:09 a.m., not generally seen as a time for clear, sober thinking: Tribe thinks that Tucker Carlson and other unnamed Republicans in the “Trump wing” of the party are guilty of treason, and therefore subject to criminal prosecution and five years’ imprisonment under 18 U.S.C. § 2381. This is sheer lunacy,

Ahead of a likely Russian invasion of Ukraine, State Department spokesman Ned Price and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki spent Wednesday afternoon under fire from establishment media reporters and, of course, Fox’s Peter Doocy over the administration’s flip-flop on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, the failure to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the impact the war could have on the U.S. economy.
Price went first and, from the get-go, the always-tough and persistent Matt Lee of the Associated Press went right to the news that Germany had suspended Nord Stream 2 from Russia and the U.S. would sanction the company (after having opposed doing so for a year).
The White House is reportedly worried Elon Musk would be a bad guest if invited to meet with President Biden — a target of frequent mockery by the Tesla founder.
Some of Biden’s top advisers have purportedly warned against inviting Musk to the White House over fears he would say something to embarrass the administration. The billionaire has repeatedly slammed the White House for failing to mention Tesla while discussing its plans for major nationwide investments in electric vehicles. Biden and his close advisers are said to be irritated with Musk’s public criticism and have no immediate plans to invite him to the White House for future events,
Two prosecutors working on a sweeping criminal fraud probe of the Trump Organization have resigned, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office confirmed Wednesday.
Mark Pomerantz and Carey Dunne were key figures in the ongoing probe that has already led to fraud and tax evasion charges against the company and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg.
In an email to CBS News, Danielle Filson, a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, said, "We are grateful for their service."
"The investigation is ongoing. We can't comment further," Filson wrote.

Republican Nick Howland flipped a Jacksonville, Florida, city council seat in a heavy Democrat district that swung for President Biden in 2020.
Duval County election results from Tuesday night showed that Howland defeated Democrat Trayce Polson with a sizeable majority of 68,599 votes versus her 64,113 votes – 51.69 percent versus 48.31 percent.
“With Howland’s victory, Republicans hold a 14-5 margin over Democrats in the City Council,” reported First Coast News.
The seat was left vacant in September 2021 due to the death of Tommy Hazouri. Though a special election was held in December of that year, neither of the four candidates in the race were able to garner 50 percent
American truckers and their supporters are organizing and heading to Washington, D.C. to protest COVID-19 mandates. The People’s Convoy is patterned after Canada’s Freedom Convoy. Truckers will leave California tomorrow and arrive in Washington on Saturday, March 5. D.C. law enforcement is preparing for their arrival.
The People’s Convoy announced plans to launch a “peaceful and unified transcontinental movement” in Southern California. Organizers say their intention is to have a “law-abiding convoy” with truckers, blue-collar workers and supporters participating in it. White House press secretary Jen Psaki took a lot of questions on Tuesday about Russia invading Ukraine (again or still, if you like) during her briefing.
But if you thought that she would provide any greater sense than her stumbling, slurring boss, you would be mistaken.
Psaki said they wanted to “avoid a large-scale invasion” of Ukraine by Russia. They still can’t escape from Biden’s “minor incursion” remark, which signaled to Putin that Biden wasn’t going to respond with the toughest sanctions. Putin has Biden’s number; he knows that, even now, they’re still having difficulty calling it an “invasion.”
House Republicans are scheduled to pick up at least ten House seats due to Democrat retirements alone, according to an analysis by left-leaning Punchbowl News.
Republicans are only in the minority by five seats with 30 total Democrat retirements, the largest mass exodus in three decades.
Some of the districts that will likely fall to Republicans from Democrats’ grasp have not been finalized by state legislatures or courts. However, Punchbowl estimated the following districts will change from blue to red:

Nearly 24 hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine under the guise of recognizing the autonomy of parts of the Donbas region, US President Joe Biden finally mustered a response.
