The absurd ‘Russiagate’ Pulitzer of
the NY Times and Washington Post

“For deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest,” the citation from the Pulitzer Prize board begins, “that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the president-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration.” Except the journalism that the Pulitzers honored — a 2018 National Reporting prize shared by the Washington Post and the New York Times for reporting on Russiagate — did no such thing. It led to a dramatic misunderstanding, suggesting that Donald Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin to help sway the 2016 election — a grand conspiracy that we now know never existed.

ALL of the "Russians" any Trump people had any contact with were at that time, or previously, people that had been in the Employ of Obama, Clinton, DNC and/or Clinton supporters. Many of the same "Russians" had been openly employed by US Govt.agencies something THEY do not normally do with "Agents and Spies", agencies with the assets to discover such things...The Trump team had no such capabilities or abilities to background check them...IF agencies had suspicions about who the Trump people met with they could have forwarded those concerns to the Trump folks and told them to be careful....instead they initiated spying on the Trump folks and told the Press about it.

But it looks so nice sitting in the trophy case next to the Pulitzer that Walter Duranty got for lying about how Stalin was killing all the Ukrainians back in the 1930s.

I will take issue with one part of the story. Although widely publicized, the Russian "hacking" of the DNC servers and John Podesta's emails were never proven. The DNC and their appartiks refused to turn over the servers to any governmental authority or independent source, instead using their hand-picked lackeys (Crowdsource, I believe) to tell everybody that "The Russians did it." Podesta was dumb enough to use the word "password" as his password on an easily accessible public email platform (I think it was gmail, but I could be wrong). The Wikileaks guy told Sean Hannity in an interview that the information did not come from a government source and some folks a lot smarter than I in these matters say that the size and speed of the "hacking" suggests that the documents were downloaded onsite (flash drive). And based on all the actions so far, we of course are going to believe the criminals who pulled off this racket, right? Well yeah, if you're the New York Times and Washington Post looking for Pulitzer prizes for this fiction writing.

President Vladimir Putin may have overplayed his hand by invading Ukraine as opposition to the war grows in Russia, experts told Fox News Digital. This is a massive miscalculation," said University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor Yoshiko Herrera, who is an expert on U.S-Russian relations. "This action yesterday was just another level of crazy. It’s a ruination of Russia for decades, so damaging for Ukraine and so costly all around." More than 1,700 demonstrators in Russia protesting the unprovoked attack on Ukraine have been arrested, according to OVD Info, a Russian human rights organization.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has embarrassed himself and his government with his response to the Freedom Convoy, and however it ends now, there’s no way for him to save face. From the start, Trudeau has dismissed the truckers’ concerns and tried to discredit them by claiming they’re a fringe minority with “unacceptable views.” Yet, a recent poll suggested that 46% of Canadians have some sympathy with the truckers, even if most disapprove of their methods. That’s higher than Trudeau’s own approval rating.

As the Democrats’ political fortunes worsen, recriminations abound. White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain seems to be the latest target, while centrist Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema continue to come under relentless attack. President Biden takes a daily pounding, and news that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will run for another term has produced headlines like this one in Axios: “Pelosi is the GOP’s 2022 Bogeywoman.” It seems strange, then, that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, whose fingers are all over the mess the party is in, isn’t taking more heat. Last week Politico Playbook reported that Schumer has created tension among his colleagues that has largely remained

Since 2003, Karen Waters has received over $1 million in payments from her mother to her and her company, Progressive Connections, for campaign-related services. Federal Elections Commission (FEC) data reviewed by Fox News Digital shows the payments range from the hundreds to the tens of thousands of dollars for a variety of costs, including "slate mailer management" fees, "campaign managing services," and paying for a "band for [a] holiday event."

Those of us worried about the corrosive effects of cancel culture and critical race theory are often accused of obsessing over the culture wars at the expense of "real" issues. But new data suggests that. the culture war is only going to rise in importance in future elections—to the benefit of Republicans. This is the gist of survey results contained in my new Manhattan Institute report, The Politics of the Culture Wars in Contemporary America. Already, cancel culture and applied critical race theory (CRT) are leading priorities for Republican voters and a mid-ranking issue overall—in large part because they unite conservatives while dividing the Left

ABC’s "The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg declared the Holocaust was "not about race" despite the systematic killing of an estimated six million Jews, leading to sharp criticism of the outspoken liberal. The daytime gabfest was in the midst of a conversation about a Tennessee school district voting to remove a Pulitzer Prize winning graphic novel about the Holocaust from its curriculum due to "inappropriate language" and an illustration of a nude woman. "Maus" by Art Spiegelman tells the story of his Jewish parents living in 1940s Poland and depicts him interviewing his father about his experiences as a Holocaust survivor.

My friends who are Democrats, particularly those of the more progressive variety, don’t seem to understand how deep they are in the political hole this year—and just how hard it might be to get out of it in 2024, particularly in the Senate. On a basic level, midterm elections are referenda on the sitting president and, if a president’s party has control of the Senate and the House, on that governing party as a whole. President Biden’s current Gallup job-approval rating of 40 percent is the second-lowest of any president in the era of modern polling at a comparable

News Alert for you: Nancy Pelosi is even more agitated tonight than usual. On a conference call just hours ago, Pelosi demanded that her members vote immediately on a piece of legislation she says is critical to our national security. The bill she's talking about, among other things, affirms the central importance of national borders. Well, of course, it does. Without a border, you can't have a country. And Nancy Pelosi firmly believes that. In fact, she believes it so strongly she's directing the Biden administration to develop an urgent new plan to keep the border secure. In fact, not simply secure, but in the words of the new legislation,

On Tuesday night’s episode of Special Report with Bret Baier, Fox News dove into the early days of the coronavirus pandemic and explored documents obtained showing that Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was warned early on that the virus may have originated in a Wuhan, China lab.

President Biden is considering sending a few thousand troops to Eastern Europe and the Baltic States as part of a broader NATO effort to bolster NATO allies that border Russia and Ukraine, given recent tensions, Fox News confirms. Advisors presented Biden with various options to respond to Russia's aggressive stance in Eastern Europe in a Sunday briefing at Camp David. The president is considering sending 3,000-5,000 U.S. troops to Romania and to Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia as part of a broader NATO effort. Other NATO countries may also contribute troops to warn Russian President Vladimir Putin not to try to move into neighboring countries.

The Utah Republican blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on a decade and more of U.S. weakness, also alluding to former President Donald Trump’s foreign-policy slogan. “Putin’s impunity predictably follows our tepid response to his previous horrors in Georgia and Crimea, our naive efforts at a one-sided ‘reset’ and the shortsightedness of ‘America First,’” he said. At least one criminal case that Democrat activists filed against Trump may be ending with a whimper. You may recall that there’s a criminal fraud case against Trump in Manhattan. To the New York Times’s manifest despair, it seems that there is no evidence of an actual crime. Things are so bad that two of the lead prosecutors on the case quit when the District Attorney expressed serious doubt in the case. In 2018, Cyrus Vance, Jr., Manhattan’s then-District Attorney, charged the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, with tax fraud allegedly related to overvaluing properties to obtain bank loans.
