Science! More Attractive People Have Stronger
Immune Systems

Original Article

According to a study from a team at Texas Christian University, there is an apparent link between the strength of an individual’s immune system and how attractive they are. This isn’t exactly the best news I’ve heard, and I’m inclined to be skeptical, but the link between attractiveness and health has been speculated on for a long time. This study claims to be more comprehensive than past research and examines the link between physical appearance, health, and immune function. The research team had 159 TCU students and local community members photographed without make-up and each had a blood test

Not sure what this says: I caught Covid, so I'm unattractive... but I survived it, so I'm attractive?

Hmmm. I never thought of my self as particularly attractive, and yet....I have a strong immune system. I have never had the flu in my four score and ten plus years, and haven't had the ChiCom virus, either. I kinda attributed a good part of that from learning to take vitamins from my mother. I've been taking 3,000 units of D3 for many decades, and went to 5,000 in March of 2020. Also upped my 1000 units of Vitamin C to 2,000 at the same time, and added zinc a few months later. And I generally don't get sick much. In my 38 years of working the job I retired from I was off about 4 days sick, total. So, what, 50 weeks x 38 years - 5 days = 9500 days and four off sick. I think that's a fairly good immune system.

Former Attorney General William Barr said he believes former President Donald Trump is morally responsible for the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol but isn't legally culpable.Asked by NBC News' Lester Holt whether he considered Trump "responsible" for the violence at the Capitol, Barr said: "I do think he was responsible in the broad sense of that word, in that it appears that part of the plan was to send this group up to the Hill. I think the whole idea was to intimidate Congress. And I think that that was wrong."But, he added, he hasn't seen evidence that Trump committed an actual crime.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine appears to have ground to a halt with no significant territory captured despite a weekend of heavy fighting, with Kyiv's men claiming to have taken out dozens of helicopters and recaptured a city this morning - sparking hopes that the unlikeliest of victories may be on the cards.Putin's men renewed their bombardments on Mariupol, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv this morning as hundreds of civilians tried to evacuate Irpin - on the outskirts of Kyiv - across a destroyed bridge after days of heavy attacks in an attempt to encircle the capital. But Russian commanders have not significantly advanced their frontline since the city of Kherson

The White House on Sunday rejected the argument that increasing domestic oil production would help lower gas prices, as the cost of oil moves toward record highs. Crude oil prices rose as high as $130.50 a barrel on Sunday evening. White House press secretary Jen Psaki released a set of talking points on social media, arguing against a focus on boosting oil production in the United States. “It’s a reminder that real energy security comes from reducing our dependence on fossil fuels,” Psaki wrote, noting that Russia’s continued invasion of Ukraine was causing a spike in oil prices. Psaki pushed back against Republicans calling for more domestic oil production.

Hill argued that Trump’s request for a “personal favor” set the wheels in motion for the invasion. “[I] think there’s just the one point that sums everything up that you yourself touched on is that President Trump at a pretty critical period, withheld military assistance to Ukraine that was desperate for it at that particular junction, basically to get Volodymyr Zelensky to do him a personal favor,” Hill said.
