WASHINGTON— Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement gives President Joe Biden a chance to make his first nomination to the high court. It’s also a chance for Biden to fulfill a campaign promise to nominate the first Black woman to be a justice. Some things to know about the women seen as leading candidates: KETANJI BROWN JACKSON -Ketanji Brown Jackson has known Breyer for decades. A graduate of Harvard and Harvard Law school, she was a law clerk to Breyer from 1999 to 2000. She is comfortable enough with her former boss to have a little fun at his expense.

It will probably be Ketanji. Liberals like women with 3 names. Isn't that how these things are decided?

It is wrong and frightfully stupid to announce that only a black woman may be nominated. SCOTUS should have people who are outstanding in their field. Picking a black woman because senile Old Joe wants to go down as appointing the first black woman to the court is wrong head and stupid. Whoever this woman will be will always be remembered as being picked because she was black. Just as Soda Jerk was picked because she was Hispanic and LGBTQ.

Will be surprised if it is not Jackson. I suspect that part of the deal was that Breyer's retirement was conditional on his clerk getting serious consideration for the job.

The Biden administration confirmed a U.S. South Carolina District Court judge backed by U.S. Rep. James Clyburn is among those considered to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. Michelle Childs, 55, was tapped for a promotion last month by President Joe Biden to the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, but the nomination has been postponed as she is now in consideration for the highest court in America after Biden vowed to nominate a black woman for the Supreme Court in February.

The military-industrial complex appears to be a major power broker in Washington. All but one of the recent presidents, including the Bushes, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama, have entered into optional conflicts and prolonged existing conflicts, despite the fact that the U.S. has little to gain from them.

Kid Rock, the country-rock singer that became one of President Trump’s most valiant high-profile supporters, just dropped the hammer on Fauci, dedicating an entire song to tearing the short, wizened, raspy-voiced tyrant to pieces. Given that it’s released by such a huge name, a highly-popular figure, it’s hilarious that it was even released, and doubly funny that it’s become so popular so quickly.Yet better (and you’ll rarely hear me praise vulgarity), it’s completely profane, with some describing it as an “f-bomb” nightmare. Now, normally I’d be against that, as I think being well-spoken is far more efficacious, normally, than bitter vulgarity.

With Justice Stephen Breyer officially announcing his retirement on Thursday (a full 24 hours after the White House announced it for him), Senate Democrats will have a chance to fill a Supreme Court seat, likely before the 2022 midterm elections in November. But ever since 2017, when Senate Republicans invoked the nuclear option to confirm Supreme Court justices at a simple majority, instead of at the usual 60 votes necessary to break a filibuster, there has been procedurally little minorities can do to prevent a nomination from moving forward (the outright lies, smears, and chaos tactics Senate Democrats employed against Justice Brett Kavanaugh notwithstanding).
