A new poll revealed the challenges facing the Biden administration on Thursday, showing that only 31 percent of Americans see Dr. Anthony Fauci as a trustworthy source of COVID-19 information and just 45 percent approve of President Joe Biden's pandemic response.
Biden has seen public support plunge during the past year as successive waves of COVID variants have upended his campaign promise to beat the virus.
On Thursday he delivered an update on his response, but the NewsNation poll, conducted by Decision Desk HQ, reveals a country that distrusts him and his senior advisers.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti won approval from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Wednesday to be President Biden’s ambassador to India — months after Garcetti controversially attended first son Hunter Biden’s Hollywood art show.
The Garcetti pick was voted out of committee along with a larger batch of nominees and now goes before the full Senate.
Biden nominated Garcetti, 50, in July. He drew negative headlines in October after promoting the novice art career of Biden’s son,

Concerns over the economy are overshadowing the pandemic as a whopping 68 per cent of Americans name financial and economic worries as a main issue heading into the midterm elections.
An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll shows only 37 per cent of Americans name the coronavirus as one of their top five priorities in 2022. At the same time last year, 53 per cent of respondents named the COVID-19 pandemic in the open-ended question.
The left has now spent two years focusing on the coronavirus responses – but the issue is receding in the minds of Americans

Our friends on the left should approve of our decision with this week’s top knuckleheads. While normally we pick just one imbecile to recognize, the competition between our two honorees this week was so strong, and the infractions so similar, we ultimately had to spread the wealth. And in so doing, we’ve inadvertently achieved the left’s ultimate goal of equity. One of our winners is a woman – or should we say, ‘a person with a uterus’ – and the other is a man; we think. One is BIPOC (will we be adding an letters to that acronym like we’ve done with LGBTQLMNOP?), while the other is white/Caucasian/oppressor-descendant.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre plans to reject more than £3.7million ($5m) in damages if it is offered to her by Prince Andrew - as the embattled royal reportedly considers selling his £17million Swiss ski chalet because the Queen won't pay his legal bills, it was claimed today.
Ms Giuffre, who claims she was forced to have sex with the Duke of York three times on the orders of her paedophile abuser Jeffrey Epstein, does not want to do a deal and push for a trial, insiders have claimed.
She is said to want a trial to send a message that anyone

Old: If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
New: If you can’t do the time, Alvin Bragg will be there for you.
That much just became clear, as the newly minted Manhattan DA issued marching orders to his hundreds of assistants and support staff.
“Let’s do our very best to keep people out of jail, kids. And let’s really, really not sweat the small stuff.”
OK, Bragg didn’t actually say that — but it pretty faithfully paraphrases the guts of a staff memo Bragg issued Monday, the first business day of his four-year term.

One might think that during the week between Christmas and New Year’s, knuckleheadedness in America might subside a bit. Perhaps we’d expect folks to be too busy eating holiday leftovers and winding down from the Christmas chaos to make utter fools of themselves in front of the entire country. One might make such an assumption, but then… one would be wrong; very wrong. The competition to be honored as 2021’s final KOTW this week was as fierce as any we’d seen throughout the year. And even though the preposterous Dan Rather did his best to take the prize, ultimately we just couldn’t ignore the buffoonery of Cenk Uygur. CORRECTION*

Democrats will rarely tell you the truth, but they will usually show you who they are with their actions. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a perfect example of that as she currently vacations in the free state of Florida during her home state of New York’s biggest COVID wave of the pandemic. Again, the elites are nowhere near as scared of COVID as they demand you be.
As RedState reported this morning, pictures surfaced of the Democrat congresswoman kicking back in Miami with her boyfriend. But while that wouldn’t necessarily be noteworthy on its own, AOC’s past statements have made it so because, as it turns out, she’s a raging hypocrite.

If Dr. Anthony Fauci ever decides to call it quits, the White House chief medical adviser will walk away with a golden parachute worth up to $350,000 per year — the largest federal retirement package ever, according to a report by Forbes.
The eye-popping amount reportedly does not include annual cost-of-living increases to Fauci’s pension and benefits.
Fauci, who turned 81 on Christmas Eve, has worked for the government for 55 years and was paid $434,312 in 2020, making him the highest-compensated federal employee.
That amount represented a 4 percent bump on Fauci’s 2019 salary of $417,608, according to federalpay.org.

Energy prices exploded in 2021, and 2022 may bring a repeat unless the Biden administration changes its anti-fossil fuel agenda. Canceled pipelines and drilling moratoriums have created a toxic environment for U.S. oil and gas investment. Because of this, the U.S. will be undersupplied in the new year unless the omicron variant shuts us down or if rising costs drive the economy into a recession. If these shadows of our current energy policy remain unaltered, then oil prices should surge to just shy of $100 a barrel next year.

Knucklehead of the week? On Christmas morning? Yes, and yes. When knuckleheadedness takes a holiday in this country, so will we. But until then, we will persist regardless of the calendar. This week’s winner seems to have been begging for this award since she came into office, yet Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was always outdone by another knucklehead: but not this week. Mayor Lightfoot wasn’t satisfied with one instance of ridiculousness this week, oh no, she had to have two. And if we did a little more research, there are probably even more examples we could find.

Joe Biden has promised to deliver 500 million Covid tests but hasn't even signed a contract to buy them or set up a website so that people can place orders.
'That's not a plan - it's a hope,' Jennifer Nuzzo, an epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told The New York Time.
'If those tests came in January and February, that could have an impact, but if they are spread out over 10 to 12 months, I'm not sure what kind of impact it is going to have.'
It is not even known how many tests will be immediately available
