The Biden White House on Tuesday expressed openness to working with Republican Sen. Mitt Romney on child tax credit payments, after the Utah lawmaker called for a bipartisan approach on the issue.
“We’re going to work with anybody who’s interested in taking steps to lower costs for the American people, whether it’s on child care or elder care or healthcare,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters, when asked about Romney’s recent statement.
Romney has proposed a program similar to the monthly CTC payouts that look set to end due to opposition from Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia

i bet Donkey strategists dream of driving out Kamala, putting Romney in her place as VP in the name of National Unity harmonized by dreamy songs of Love and Patriotism on their pet media, then driving out Biden, thus elevating Romney so he'd be GOP nominee for Prez in 2024, then they could beat Romney at the polls in 2024, and basically have themselves a do over in the old familiar way of defeating hapless GOP with just about anybody. You bet they are nice to him. You bet they are. Until 2024 when it willl be back to the dog elevators.

Put it out there as a single bill, and not as part of the giant Build Back Bolshevik, and it would probably pass easily. Omnibus legislation allows for all sorts of shenanigans that the public never sees.
There was a movement years ago to force Congress to limit bills to plain language, one issue only. Of course, most of the porkers hated the idea and it never went anywhere.
These clowns could have done the same thing for insulin costs, and it would have been done a year ago or more. Or, Xiden could have not overturned Trump's EO on it until Congress passed it. You can argue that price controls are not what we should be doing, but $1000 / month for insulin is outrageous, given how long it has been widely available. More medical cost inflation driven by government 'picking up the tab' for everything.

Dims think they could trust Mitt? I hope they try. Romney is a reed bending in the wind - at best. He is principally unprincipled whose philosophy depends on whether he faces East or West when he wakes up in the morning.

The communists - - and their demonrat operatives - - are at war with the very existence of the United States as we've known it - - but - - utter fools like Mittens are not only not fighting them - - they aren't even aware that a war is being waged.
It's impossible to be dumber than the idiot Mittens - - walking into a den of murderers with a big smile on his face - - thinking that they're his friends.
And to think - - I was once suspended from this forum for using the term "romneybots." My - - how times have changed.

How did we survive all this time without this giveaway?
I love children I raised two and I didn't get any tax credits.
I got the standard deduction from IRS for them ----that's it.
Why all of a sudden can't families survive without a handout.?

Romney's an arse!
He still hasn't figured out that 2012 was stolen from him the same way 2020 was stolen from President Trump! Why would he help them?

Mitt Romney to the rescue.
So predictable.
Only question is how many other Republicans are standing in the wings willing to save the Democrats, and their totalitarian agenda.

Romney is always open to harming the American people a bit more. My working approach to any issue is "If Mittens supports it, I am against it."
There may, some day be an exception to that, but it's a solid starting point, always.

Romney has signaled he is willing to stab his fellow Republicans in the back. Susan Collins is sending the same message.

Romney is a skunk cabbage bending in the wind - at best.
Sadly, for him, when he finally comes out as a democommie, he won't
even be the richest demmocommie in the pack.
