Progressive lawmakers offer unwitting
path for Jan. 6 prisoners to sue federal government

Some of the most progressive Democrats in Congress are supporting new legislation that could help an unexpected group: those who were arrested and imprisoned without trial for playing a role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Democratic Reps. Hank Johnson (Ga.) and Jamie Raskin (Md.) on Wednesday reintroduced the Bivens Act, which would allow citizens to recover damages for constitutional violations committed against them by federal law enforcement officials. The bill, which the lawmakers first introduced last year, seeks "to provide a civil remedy for an individual whose rights have been violated by a person acting under federal authority." It would do this by adding five words —

Comments:

I'm of two minds on this. It would be great to give our side the ability to sue these out-of-control agencies who are going after so-called white extremists and, really, all conservatives. On the other hand, the left is much more adept and bold in using weapons like this, and God knows what they would do with it.

I want to know how this is happening in the USA? I know some republicans are working on it but ALL the republicans should be screaming at the top of their lungs to get these political prisoners released. This bill won't pass until after the political prisoners are let go and who knows when that will happen. Yet the republicans are still asking for money - not going to happen.

The Article insludes: "Some of the most outspoken progressives in Congress are supporting the Bivens Act, including Democratic Reps. Ted Lieu (Calif.), Andre Carson, (Ind.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Sheila Jackson Lee (Texas), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), among others." BEWARE thse radicals. This proposed amendment is far too broad brush. These radicals know the negative consequences this proposed amendment can cause.

Good one #3. Isn't Hank Johnson the nitwit that thought that Guam would capsize if any more troops were sent there. The look on the Generals face during this session of questioning was priceless. This shows the level of stupidity of many members of the democRAT party in Washington.

This should empower lawyers like Sidney Powell and maybe Jay Sekulow to go after those Feds abusing those prisoners and their rights. I hope Hank Johnson, the guy who makes the stupid statements about the most ridiculous things never gets a clue.

As it did in the Kyle Rittenhouse case, the major media relentlessly trumpeted a false story, this time about Jussie Smollett. In both cases the tales were of white supremacists committing horrific crimes. In both cases, when the fabulist tales were rejected by jurors who heard and weighed the evidence, the outcome was ignored or downplayed. But doubtless the distrust of their fellow citizens among the Black community in Kenosha and, then Chicago, and perhaps the country, was heightened by these lies. In both cases, celebrities and politicians bought and promoted the fake stories. And improbable it was unless you are so nuts you think two masked strangers,

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene today released “Unusually Cruel- An Eyewitness Report From Inside The DC Jail,” her report about what she saw when she was finally allowed to meet the January 6 political prisoners. (Snip) The political prisoners cheered as they met Gohmert and Greene. Some cried and all were visibly shaken (they were the only inmates on the tour to cry). They lined up to shake hands with Greene and Gohmert and began chanting “U-S-A! U-S-A!” Takeaways from Greene’s report include: • Inmates claim they aren’t allowed to see their lawyers or family members • They aren’t allowed to get a haircut unless they are vaccinated.

By the time Barack Obama left office, every branch of the military was smaller than it had been on September 11. But the change in size concealed the true impact of America’s most left-wing president in undermining our national security and weakening us in the face of our enemies. (Snip) One of those took place during the end of his last year in office. His memorandum, “Promoting Diversity and Inclusion in the National Security Workforce”, created the woke military of the Biden administration by putting identity politics, diversity quotas, and political indoctrination at the heart of the military’s mission. Obama had always resented the military.

Recent COVID-19 research sponsored by vaccine makers and the federal government may actually undermine the rationale for vaccine mandates. Two studies published last month in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) showed statistically insignificant differences between participants who received vaccinations or placebos in Pfizer and Moderna trials. Five placebo versus two vaccinated participants died from COVID-19 or related pneumonia across the two randomized controlled trials of more than 74,000 people six to seven months later. The figures are available in each study's supplementary appendix. All deaths reported during the vaccine trials, regardless of listed cause, were similarly close between vaccine (31) and placebo (30) groups in the two appendices.

The nuclear family has always been the backbone of American liberty and prosperity. However, the latest information from the Census Bureau shows that the nuclear family, if not dead, is on life support. Only the smallest fraction of American children are being raised in traditional two-parent households. Leftists have been waging relentless war on the nuclear family for decades in ways big and small. The big ways began in the 1960s with women’s liberation and no-fault divorce. While both of those may have relieved women from desperately bad marriages and dead-end jobs, they also served to take women out of their role as homemaker and the child’s primary teacher, often transferring

The omicron variant is likely to have picked up genetic material from another virus that causes the common cold in humans, according to a new preliminary study, prompting one of its authors to suggest omicron could have greater transmissibility but lower virulence than other variants of the coronavirus. (Snip) The study is in preprint and has not been peer-reviewed. The “striking” similarity between omicron and HCoV-229E could have made the former “more accustomed to human hosts” and likely to evade some immune system responses, said Venky Soundararajan, a biological engineer who co-wrote the study.  CORRECTION*

One of Richard Nixon’s defense lawyers claimed recently that Tricky Dick didn’t receive due process because “the prosecutors cheated.” Now Geoff Shepard, 76, has filed an official complaint of attorney misconduct with the federal Department of Justice against Watergate prosecutors — 47 years after the fact. He revealed the Oct. 2 filing this week. Among its charges: prosecutors improperly met privately with Watergate trial judges, even “rehearsing” court proceedings ahead of time; suppressed exculpatory evidence; and even lied to the grand jury. And when they were done, Shepard, the author of “The Nixon Conspiracy,” claimed they “wrongfully” took confidential files, in violation of DOJ policy.

Most of the media continue to ignore Hunter Biden like toddlers with their fingers in their ears. His laptop is “unconfirmed.” “Unsubstantiated.” “It doesn’t matter.” The first two are obviously false, a weak excuse to cover things up for the administration. From the beginning, the laptop was substantiated: Hunter’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski confirmed his correspondence was real. Hunter Biden never denied they were his files; in fact, his memoir confirms the pictures of the drug use, prostitutes and financial documents from the laptop. Post columnist Miranda Devine’s new book, “Laptop from Hell,” details how the Chinese gave Hunter a 3-carat diamond and includes pictures from the computer

But don’t miss the forest for the trees. The point Cheney was making isn’t that Fox News hosts are hypocrites, although they are. The point is that the president’s own family and allies were pleading with him while the riot was unfolding to do something, yet he did nothing — for hours. Everyone around him treated it like an emergency. Not him. Was that a crime? Watch the end of this clip, starting at around 3:00.
