Portland's police department has warned residents of the woke but crime-ravaged Oregon city to expect delays in cops answering all but the most serious 911 calls. On Monday, Portland Police were only responding to priority 1 and priority 2 calls—codes that refer to incidents that are life-threatening or with a potential for physical injury, as well as major property crimes.(Snip)Meanwhile, 55 officers retired and another 29 left the department, leaving 835 sworn members on the force amid nationwide calls to defund police that were heard especially loud in Portland last year. The city is famed as America's most woke, and is renowned as a hotbed of Antifa

Comments:

Why would a woke city have any need at all for a police force? Their focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion solves all social problems.

Actually, all this nonsense will finally end when all the police stand down and WE THE PEOPLE finally take care of the problem ourselves. Our "rules of engagement" will be quite different than what our police have had to endure.

#1, taking care of the problem has to include the politicians, bureaucrats and so-called citizens (media) who caused the problem, or afterwards the cycle will start to repeat, yet again. Those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it - said someone famous in the past

Places like Portland have only themselves to blame. My suggestion is to arm up, shoot first and don't cal the unfunded police. Have communities hire someone to dump the bodies in the river or out in the wilderness. If you dont have a policeforce, defend yourselves Wild West style.

The Asheville NC police dept announced the same 911 limitations months ago. They mirror Portland in so many ways...Commie city council and mayor, defunded the police, lots of police quit, the rise of local Antifa and BLM, a new, surging homeless problem, a sharp increase in crime and murders. After 22 years in Asheville, it is going downhill quickly.

A Northern Virginia public library removed a holiday-themed display this week that featured the Bible alongside two sexually-explicit books at the center of a furious debate between area school officials and parents who see the material as inappropriate for children. The glass-enclosed display at McLean’s Dolley Madison Public Library included a copy of the Bible as well as copies of “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison and “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maia Kobabe—two books available to students in the Fairfax County Public Schools that have created a furor with their graphic depictions of fellatio and other sexual acts among children, including an image that shows a man

Hillary Clinton lost, and now she needs to move on from the 2016 election. I’m not trying to be cruel or twist the knife. I mean this with all sincerity. She just needs to move on for her own good. The constant reliving of her failed campaign against former President Donald Trump is unhealthy. She’s clearly still upset about it. She’s clearly still angry. But she’ll never recover from her defeat so long as she continues to wallow in it, relentlessly poring over every excruciating detail. She’ll certainly never recover if she continues in both word and deed to define herself by her failed campaign.
