The Manhattan nurse battered with a bike by a hate-fueled Manhattan madman remains terrified by his look of pure delight and the threat of his return. Atsuko Obando, an Asian woman and frontline worker during the pandemic, was targeted for her ethnicity by oft-arrested Raymond Bennett as they randomly crossed paths in the 116th St. subway station on Nov. 27, police said. He allegedly hurled a racist taunt after slamming her from behind with the handlebars of a bicycle. “I clearly saw that he was enjoying it,” the still-shaken 54-year-old victim told the Daily News. “I kept saying ‘You hurt me, it really hurts.’ Then he smiled

Comments:

Unprovoked? An Asian woman dared ride the subway in the age of bLACK Excellence. And the fact that Raymond Bennett has been arrested 38 times and counting just shows how far we have to go in countering White Supremacy. People seem to be OK with what's been done to this country; here comes the clown car again.

We have - an impotent, functionally disarmed police, and a worthless, gutless, emasculated, criminal injustice system. Guaranteed we will see more of the same and even worse until our citizenry rises up and defends itself - with whatever caliber it requires.

I was suckered punched twice by African descendants. One in Washington Square in Manhattan that left me flat breathless on the sidewalk. Circa 1975. The second Afrikaner flattened me in Melrose West Hollywood, unannounced. I am grateful that he gave me an elbow blow that I managed to survive.

Really having trouble understanding the historical interactions between blacks and Asians that have led to this animosity. Because I just never sensed any interactions. One gets the impression some blacks do not like to see other minorities that do well.

A Northern Virginia public library removed a holiday-themed display this week that featured the Bible alongside two sexually-explicit books at the center of a furious debate between area school officials and parents who see the material as inappropriate for children. The glass-enclosed display at McLean’s Dolley Madison Public Library included a copy of the Bible as well as copies of “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison and “Gender Queer: A Memoir” by Maia Kobabe—two books available to students in the Fairfax County Public Schools that have created a furor with their graphic depictions of fellatio and other sexual acts among children, including an image that shows a man

Improving his outdoor spaces has set Hayes back around $100,000, but he said it’s a price he’s willing to pay to keep customers content.(Snip)Although diners are allowed to eat indoors with a proof of vaccination, the outdoors could become a popular alternative because ventilation may be better.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine could be significantly less effective against the newly discovered Omicron variant that it was against previous strains of the virus. Researchers at the African Health Research Institute (AHRI) found that there are forty times less antibodies in Pfizer vaccine recipients that can fight Omicron than there are for other variants. The pre-print study, made available Tuesday pending peer-review, implies that the vaccine could be less effective against the strain detected last month in South Africa. Conclusions from it cannot yet be drawn, though, and researchers are not yet sure how much more likely the Omicron variant is to cause infection

Does Justice Sonia Sotomayor even read the briefs in cases before the Supreme Court? I ask because the cases don't come any bigger than Dobbs v. Wade and 1992 decision in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. I joined two other female physicians (a neonatologist and an obstetrician) in an amicus brief detailing advances in fetal science that have happened since 1973. During oral arguments, Justice Sotomayor displayed abysmal ignorance of the most basic scientific and medical facts about developing human life.

Hillary Clinton lost, and now she needs to move on from the 2016 election. I’m not trying to be cruel or twist the knife. I mean this with all sincerity. She just needs to move on for her own good. The constant reliving of her failed campaign against former President Donald Trump is unhealthy. She’s clearly still upset about it. She’s clearly still angry. But she’ll never recover from her defeat so long as she continues to wallow in it, relentlessly poring over every excruciating detail. She’ll certainly never recover if she continues in both word and deed to define herself by her failed campaign.
