‘Ah-mic-ron?’ ‘Oh-mic-ron? New variant
becomes a tongue-twister

There are many unknowns about the omicron variant of the coronavirus, including whether it spreads faster than other strains or is more deadly. But here’s another puzzler: How to pronounce it. World Health Organization officials give Greek names to new variants of concern, like alpha and delta. Those were pretty straightforward, but omicron appears to be tripping people up. President Biden repeatedly referred to it as “omni-cron” during remarks Tuesday, a flub that Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health appeared to repeat from the podium. On Wednesday, Dr. Fauci pronounced it as “ah-mi-cron,” with a short O sound at the start,

Comments:

They can't pronounce it, but everyone agrees that we need boosters and more boosters because that's Science. Omicron; it's the new "nucular."

I posted on thsi forum - - several days ago - - that the Greek alphabet has a Big "O" and a small "o." The Big "O" is called O-mega - - and the small "o" is called o-micron. Not hard at all to pronounce - - if you're informed. Very hard to pronounce - - if you choose to be ignorant.

The fact that Fauci mispronounced it is a significant tell. Anyone who is an actually scientist and uses the symbol frequently in scientific papers and formuli knows it is oh-micron with a long o and short i. This shows how out of touch he actually is from real science and medicine. He probably also mispronounces common drug names which any real MD would be familiar with from med school and current literature.

The total failure of our establishment to earn our trust over the last two years of this pandemic made it inevitable that a huge number of people, at best, don’t care, and at worst think it’s a calculated lie designed to prolong this nonsense. The COVIDians are positively turgid over the idea of more mandates, more lockdowns, more masks, and more viro-fascism. So when the CEO of Moderna states that the vaccine might not be as effective against this new mutation as to earlier ones,
