A supermarket in Melbourne has been forced to apologise after taping a message to its register encouraging staff to racially profile African customers. Sunshine West IGA in the city's outer-west has come under fire after a customer shared the notice on social media, which calls for workers to use a 'special button' if an African person walks into the store. 'If an African customer comes to the bottle shop presses the button for assistant immediately!' the message reads. 'Minimum 2 staffs in front while we serve Africans.'(Snip)The man, who chose to remain anonymous, told the ABC the sign was 'just for safety reasons'

Guess who has a history of violence in Australia, too?

At least they were smart enough to recognize who is responsible for their problems. I am still waiting for any major news source to have the courage to report the color of the smash and grab thieves.

When it comes to issues of multiculturalism, tolerance and diversity, whenever anyone or a group is confronted by or threatened with violence by a member of a "minority", it is the individual or group who is expected to "take one for the team", be it physical injury or loss of property. Of course it is always the "HOME" team that is expected to make the sacrifice to avoid violence or division within society.

Don’t they have crowd robberies and sucker punches on Chinese in Australia?

If 'just for safety reasons' then for or from whom did they need safety?

Does the store have some crime stats they could post in their defense? Stats don't lie.

It seems rather prudent. If every dog that bites you is a German Shepherd, you pay attention when German Shepherds are around. It would be stupid not to.

Sometimes it's not racism but simple risk management.

Maybe Newman Marcus in SF should have considered this.

Hmmm, maybe it IS the race?
You could always mandate home delivery for anything they purchase but then who would dare to go into those neighborhoods?

Apparently they haven’t had any smash and grab mobs yet. Give them time.

When asked about his white grandmother avoiding unknown black men on the street, Obama said she isn't a racist and doesn't harbor any racial animosity. When Biden called Obama a clean, bright, articulate black man: a storybook man. That's not patronizing and racist at all. Silly Rabbit, Racism is for Conservatives.

If you are not planning anything, why would you be offended to have additional staff to help you, if needed? I wish I could get the help up front when I came into a store. I usually cannot locate them.

Fake news. The message on the cash register looks faux-toe-shopped.
This supposedly happened in Melbourne, Australia. Australia's racism is geared toward their own aboriginals, not Africans. They are as far from Africa as we are, and neither country has a problem with Africans. WE have a problem with fatherless black Americans who are taking their rage out on everyone around them. It has nothing to do with Africa.
Peddling fake stories about racism around every corner is just what the media does, and in this case it's fueled by the fears people have of the latest Fauci Flu variant coming . . . Out of Africa.

Should not have taped it to register. Otherwise, makes sense with what is happening. Some of the baddies in their bunch brought this on the lot of them. A little peer discipline needed.
