Yes, there are a very small minority of females who can beat up average males. But I cringe every time I see a movie showing a 110-pound woman pounding the life out of five muscle-bound men. Sure, it's fantasy and sometimes appropriate as farce (did anyone ever believe that Ellie Mae Clampett could beat the tar out of Jethro?). But it serves to coarsen our perception of women. More women begin to believe they are as capable of violence as men and more men believe that striking a woman is fair game. In a past, more noble world the female cop wouldn't be attacked because she's a lady. Now, the restraints are falling off.

I remember when in order to be a State Police Officer in Maryland there was a requirement that the person had to be 5 foot 10 inches in height and weigh the proper amount. There was a reason. They knew that people do not attack big men. All that changed over the years as they took on women and small men because a requirement got in the way of some person who did not meet it getting the job.

So, is the perp dead? If not WHY not?!

Correction: all policemen should be men. This has been obvious for the entire period of this idiotic experiment. A policeman with a female partner has a liability to look after.

No! This video shows why there should be NO female police officers. What if, like in many police departments, she had no partner or worse, a female partner? At least one cop would be dead if not two.

Big, big guy knocked on my door at 3 in the morning. I had a wife and three young children. I couldn’t risk that he was alone, so I called the police. Meanwhile, big guy went to his van, before a 5 foot, 4 inch petite female officer came to the door. Needless to say, I was extremely underwhelmed by her presence. Fortunately the giant was drunk and went to sleep in his van. Lady cop was smart to call for masculine back-up. There was a party across the street, so apparently he got lost. This was just two years after women were allowed to play cops for real.

This is yet another woke myth that women can kick **s. There may be a few, but by and large, they can’t. They’re simply not built for it. Unfortunately, this myth is having very real consequences in the world. I read a study that showed how women police officers drew their weapons at twice the rate of the men. This was not because woman were bad hombres, but because they were trying to make up for their lack of size and upper body strength.

I've seen some women that look like they could go bear hunting with a switch. Other than those, why would a woman want to be a police officer.

Diversity hire cops only works when those being confronted "Respect the Badge, Respect the Law", acknowledge that when caught? They are caught. Brits were able to have unarmed cops for centuries...because the society backed VERY tough treatment of those who did not surrender once "Touched/Collared". Cops could blow a whistle, yell stop thief..and if the perp tried to run every person of the street would point and yell THIEF!, and the people pointing and calling out would be passed on no matter how many twists turns, corners rounded until the perp was toooo tired to run anymore. Now there is a vast swath of society that sez Cops cannot stop anyone, must not touch anyone, that they cannot chase anyone, and "Olly Olly Oxen Free!" from Hide'nSeek/Kick the Can applies to any/all who run away. Home Base is "Safe". Universal Respect for the Law enabled Police to be "Gentle", not forceful...it allowed society to hire Police to be Gentle on their behalf, rather than Forceful on their own, Cops not only protect Society from Criminals, they protect Criminals from society. Police forces were not ubiquitous until the advent of the 20th Century, prior to that miscreants were often dealt with on scene by whoever caught them, sometimes it was mere beatings, or floggings, a shaved head, a notch in their nose, a torn off sleeve(in times where clothes were verrrrry hard to come by), local banishment, if those did not suffice... sometimes it was a rope and a tree, or a lampost. IF the apologists for miscreants insist that the Police no longer deal with those miscreants, Society at large still retains their right/Responsibility and reasons to return to enforcing it's collective Codes. "Democracy" in action at the scene of a Crime, may well be Muuuuuch tougher than the Police, it was in the past..

No....not "why every female cop should have a male partner".....why women shouldn't be police officers. Sorry, I'm very pro-woman, but some jobs are just not workable or safe for women, and the lowering of standards of performance to admit them only puts the women and the public at greater risk.

Maybe there should be police patrol teams whereby the teams consist of three members, two male officers, and one female officer, who always respond to calls and cover all bases as they work together.

Jobs that accommodate women should be left to men alone. Women need to be feminine, enjoy it and stop trying to be like dudes. That's some leftist crap that a lot of women bought into. Women outside their places get men hurt or killed.

Maybe 1 in 1000 women are suited to be patrol cops. The people who are pushing for this nonsense need to be cut out of the conversation.

If you think it's bad having women for Police Officers think for a minute about a 5' 4" woman loaded down with turnout gear, an scba (self contained breathing apparatus) on her back and carrying an exhaust fan that weighs 50 lbs. to a fire. Nothing more useless than a female firefighter. But to listen to those running the department they are all superwomen. It aint so.

Has the author of the article not seen the movie GI Jane? Or one of the dozens of other movies where 80 lb girls destroy huge guys? The cognitive dissonance of the left on this gender stuff is mind blowing.

Let us remember that the underlying reason academia invented the f-inist movement was that it was a useful [to them] brick in their wall of destruction of western civilization. Same as the LBTQXYZ etc. movement. I remember a media story years ago of a women cop, on patrol out in the countryside who stopped a vehicle for some reason. The discussion with the dude driving the car deteriorated and he drove away, leaving her handcuffed to the light rack, without her gun, her pants and drawers at her feet for just the reason you would fear, and as she couldn't get to the radio, it was sometime before a passerby was able to render aid. Would today's running dog media report such an event if it happened? Oh, sure, right under their Humper Biden expose. LOL

If a social worker had been dispatched.the perp likely would have repented his sins and swore to a life of poverty and assistance to the needy. Had a community organizer answered the call the pep would be announcing his run for political office. s/o

ANY job that requires a certain degree of physical strength, cops, military, firefighters, lifeguards, etc. should be restricted to those who can pass thorough tests. Anything less puts that person and all other team members at risk. PC be damned when lives are on the line.

#16, about thirty years ago, a city in California had an all female city council, and the city council voted to eliminate physical standards for firefighters. The city recruited a bunch of women, and someone videotaped the women trying to raise ladders to fight a fire. The video, widely circulated, was titled 'firefighter follies.' And it was a hoot. When I taught my graduate students about Title VII of the civil rights act, I explained that if I were trapped on the second floor of my burning house, I wanted the firefighter to be as big as I was, and that the sex of the firefighter was not important to me. Unfortunately, my standard no longer applies.

Females do not have the upper body strength that males have. An inconvenient truth. When it comes to military and police, I want to see the biggest, strongest, fittest muthas possible.

Society and hollywood have long been perpetuating the myth of kill bill types taking out bad guys. Look at the skinny sidekick higgins on magnum going all kung fu on the bad hawaiians. This is not reality.

Back in the 90s, when I worked the mean streets as a LEO, one of our veteran officers called for backup, which was very uncharacteristic for this particular cop. Immediately, and to her credit, a small female officer got on the radio and said, "838 in route." The guy calling for backup immediately gets back on the air and said, "I say again, send me some muscle!" That resulted in what used to be called "raining Po-lice," as the response was quite impressive. Result: all the officers went home to their families and the bad guys went to jail.

As one male comedian pointed out, a female cop is allowed to arrest a male perp, and it's the perp who's doing the allowing. Otherwise, due to physical strength differences, a male perpetrator could simply beat the snot out of a female cop 90% of the time or possibly kill her to try to get away (while her male colleagues do the actual chasing, tackling, restraining and arresting).
