In 2019, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stood at Georgetown University and pledged to “fight to uphold as wide a definition of freedom of expression as possible,” promising in uncertainty to “err on the side of greater expression.” He went on, “I don’t think most people want to live in a world where you can only post things that tech companies judge to be 100 percent true.” Such declarations seem almost quaint now, if not outright lies.

I have never ever used FascistBook - - or even logged onto it - - and you know what? I'm pretty darn well informed without it. These leftist "social media" sites are the most over-rated and under-delivering vehicles since the Edsel. Who needs FascistBook - - and why is any intelligent person patronizing it?

Are you serious, Rachel? Really serious? Zuck will go as far as he is allowed to go and you should know that by now. And, NO ONE has ever been truly serious about drawing that proverbial line in the sand. It isn't merely censorship in the USA. FB has been corrupted too far beyond any hope of fixing it piecemeal. Short of some sort of massive calamity to FB's network infrastructure that would end up financially hurting millions of innocent users, I have no clue how to change anything FB is doing. All the usual bad actors out there are using FB too successfully for their own purposes to take it down.

FB doesn't have anything to worry about... As long as there are no penalties, why should they change. The Republicans had their chance to fix this but their hatred for Trump kept many of them from doing anything about big tech... and the money's better.

I have this facebook thing whipped. I use it only for day to day comms with friends and family. Never anything political and the last couple years no pictures of guns. Knowing full well that they sell the communists in government full access, I want to make them yawn when they see mine. For political stuff I look at Mewe and Gab. Much more anonymous, though you wont find many under their real names there.

I was pretty active w fazbuk, Started, hosted, and moderated several debate sites, was founder/admin for several "Specialized" sites pertaining to sailing, navigation, wooden boats, bird dogs, antiques, fine carpentry. Had two business pages, plus a highschool reunion/alumni page. Combined, over 25,000 members/followers. ALL of those pages were deleted and my entire social media presence blocked/banned/removed when I made a meme that went viral. It was right after the Kenosha Kerfuffle first happened, two simple screen caps from the first video...one a still of Huber bashing KR with the skateboard labeled "Cause", the other of Huber clutching his chest labeled "Effect". "Violating Community Standards"... well, now that it has been tried and adjudicated as actually BEING the community standard? Can/will they restore my pages/presence? and that of the hundreds/thousands of other people/sites/groups blocked/banned for the same sort of things? Will anyone DEMAND that fazebuk reveal exactly How Many folks were wrongly effected?

Across the nation, school districts and politicians are embroiled in a debate over "Critical Race Theory" (snip) The Civil Rights Movement was successful because it emphasized our commonalities as Americans: our common hopes, dreams, struggles, and destiny being tied together. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. rejected standing apart as a solution, often saying, "We cannot walk alone." This is what many CRT proponents get wrong and what parents across the country are rejecting. We cannot teach our children to see themselves as defined and destined by race, that a trait is White or Black, that the American dream is only available for some.

Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old found not guilty on all counts for killing two men and injuring another at a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, believes we need criminal justice reform. (snip) He's right. As a Black man who spent two and a half years in federal prison, I have personally experienced the injustice in our criminal justice system. But as the political divide over Kyle Rittenhouse demonstrates, we seem less intent on effectively addressing our problems and more concerned with creating narratives that reinforce our preconceived views.

Soon after Special Counsel John Durham indicted Igor Danchenko, the “Primary Sub-Source” of the Steele dossier, on five counts of lying to the FBI, the press paused to feign a moment of public introspection. The corrupt media’s attempt to frame their failings as mere confirmation bias, however, holds no truer than the Russia-collusion hoax they peddled for five years. You would assume that if the CDC was going to crush the civil and individual rights of those with natural immunity by having them expelled from school, fired from their jobs, separated from the military, and worse, the CDC would have proof of at least one instance of an unvaccinated, naturally immune individual transmitting the COVID-19 virus to another individual. If you thought this, you would be wrong. My firm, on behalf of ICAN, asked the CDC for precisely this proof (see below). ICAN wanted to see proof of any instance in which someone who previously had COVID-19 became reinfected with and transmitted the virus to someone else.

I woke up Wednesday morning so grateful that my state, Virginia, had voted out abortion extremism. Abortion activists were supposed to sweep Terry McAuliffe back to the governor's mansion. McAuliffe spent millions of dollars on ads blasting Glenn Youngkin for being pro-life and brought in outside speakers, including former President Obama, to campaign on the issue of abortion. Instead of keeping Virginia blue, these efforts may have propelled Youngkin to victory.

The Obsolete Science Behind Roe v. Wade 9 replies

The Supreme Court will soon reconsider the decision in Roe v. Wade (1973), which made abortion legal in America through all nine months of pregnancy. At that “point in the development of man’s knowledge,” as Justice Harry Blackmun put it in Roe, there was simply no consensus about when life begins. In other words, the fetus could not be said with any certainty to be alive and therefore wasn’t worthy of legal protection. As a diagnostic radiologist—whose youngest patients are fetuses, who are very much alive—I submitted a friend-of-the-court brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization urging the justices to rethink Roe, a case premised on a claim about science.
