I'm a Black Ex-Felon. I'm Glad Kyle Rittenhouse

Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old found not guilty on all counts for killing two men and injuring another at a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, believes we need criminal justice reform. (snip) He's right. As a Black man who spent two and a half years in federal prison, I have personally experienced the injustice in our criminal justice system. But as the political divide over Kyle Rittenhouse demonstrates, we seem less intent on effectively addressing our problems and more concerned with creating narratives that reinforce our preconceived views.

Why do we care the color of anyone on this. Kyle Rittenhouse shot 3 white guys, who were rioting. This isn’t about racism, it’s about the narrative of a white kid with a gun, and much racism.

It's a repeat of the Anita Hill mantra: It's the seriousness of the charge, not the nature of the evidence. This guy is a decent writer. I'll pay for him to get a decent haircut.

The problem in Kenosha was caused by a governor who thought letting people riot would be bad for a Republican President. One hundred businesses were looted and burned... 40 are gone forever. Thankfully, after Kyle took action, the National Guard WAS called in. But this calculation and the continued looting and burning goes on to this day. In a better world, Jacob Blake would be walking around his cell instead of having been freed to commit mayhem... like Brooks. And 'motivational speakers' would acknowledge THAT and personal responsibility and morals. But I'm not holding my breath.

Across the nation, school districts and politicians are embroiled in a debate over "Critical Race Theory" (snip) The Civil Rights Movement was successful because it emphasized our commonalities as Americans: our common hopes, dreams, struggles, and destiny being tied together. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. rejected standing apart as a solution, often saying, "We cannot walk alone." This is what many CRT proponents get wrong and what parents across the country are rejecting. We cannot teach our children to see themselves as defined and destined by race, that a trait is White or Black, that the American dream is only available for some.

In 2019, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stood at Georgetown University and pledged to “fight to uphold as wide a definition of freedom of expression as possible,” promising in uncertainty to “err on the side of greater expression.” He went on, “I don’t think most people want to live in a world where you can only post things that tech companies judge to be 100 percent true.” Such declarations seem almost quaint now, if not outright lies.

Soon after Special Counsel John Durham indicted Igor Danchenko, the “Primary Sub-Source” of the Steele dossier, on five counts of lying to the FBI, the press paused to feign a moment of public introspection. The corrupt media’s attempt to frame their failings as mere confirmation bias, however, holds no truer than the Russia-collusion hoax they peddled for five years. The proof of this reality is seen in the prostitute sex tapes: the non-existent “golden showers” one and the verifiable, but ignored, Hunter Biden videos.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday indicted two Iranian nationals for allegedly interfering in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, alleging they used wide-ranging cyber and disinformation efforts in an attempt to sow doubt in the election process. Between August and November of last year, Iranian nationals Seyyed Mohammad Hosein Musa Kazemi and Sajjad Kashian are alleged to have targeted election websites of 11 states, successfully obtaining information on more than 100,000 U.S. voters by compromising one state’s voter information website.

You would assume that if the CDC was going to crush the civil and individual rights of those with natural immunity by having them expelled from school, fired from their jobs, separated from the military, and worse, the CDC would have proof of at least one instance of an unvaccinated, naturally immune individual transmitting the COVID-19 virus to another individual. If you thought this, you would be wrong. My firm, on behalf of ICAN, asked the CDC for precisely this proof (see below). ICAN wanted to see proof of any instance in which someone who previously had COVID-19 became reinfected with and transmitted the virus to someone else.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf admitted this week he made a mistake when he allowed his wife to drop off his mail-in ballot ahead of Tuesday’s municipal elections. The comments came during an interview with KDKA radio in Pittsburgh. A Wolf spokesperson told The Associated Press “it was an honest mistake.” State law requires voters return their own mail-in ballots to a county election office or drop box. Written permission must be given to return someone else’s ballot.

I woke up Wednesday morning so grateful that my state, Virginia, had voted out abortion extremism. Abortion activists were supposed to sweep Terry McAuliffe back to the governor's mansion. McAuliffe spent millions of dollars on ads blasting Glenn Youngkin for being pro-life and brought in outside speakers, including former President Obama, to campaign on the issue of abortion. Instead of keeping Virginia blue, these efforts may have propelled Youngkin to victory.

One might imagine that Democrats could reflect dispassionately on the results of yesterday’s elections, draw appropriate lessons from them, and emerge as more formidable competitors going forward. You might imagine that, but it won’t happen. Democrats have no capacity for such engagement with reality. Thus, they tell us that Glenn Youngkin’s victory was a triumph of white supremacy.
The Obsolete Science Behind Roe v. Wade 9 replies

The Supreme Court will soon reconsider the decision in Roe v. Wade (1973), which made abortion legal in America through all nine months of pregnancy. At that “point in the development of man’s knowledge,” as Justice Harry Blackmun put it in Roe, there was simply no consensus about when life begins. In other words, the fetus could not be said with any certainty to be alive and therefore wasn’t worthy of legal protection. As a diagnostic radiologist—whose youngest patients are fetuses, who are very much alive—I submitted a friend-of-the-court brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization urging the justices to rethink Roe, a case premised on a claim about science.
