Kyle Rittenhouse shot three black men. Kyle Rittenhouse traveled across state lines with a gun. Kyle Rittenhouse had an AK-47. These are three examples of false information being spread about Rittenhouse, whose trial ended last week with his acquittal. Prominent influencers, including lawmakers and reporters, are sources of some of the misinformation—possibly disinformation—leaving experts troubled. On CBS’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday, reporter Mark Strassman falsely said Rittenhouse “drove in from Illinois armed for battle.” On CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” on Friday, Harvard University professor Cornell William Brooks falsely said Rittenhouse was carrying an AK-47. The Independent falsely reported late last week that Rittenhouse shot three black men.

Comments:

A good roundup of major media lies (or misinformation; take your choice). Plus the welcome news that a media critic in the Columbia Journalism Review tore into the purveyors of these fake stories.

The ''drove across state lines'' trope is really getting tiresome. There is nothing illegal or significant about driving across a state line. American citizens are free to cross borders between states whenever they wish and for whatever reason. Wish they spent as much attention to illegal aliens crossing the US - Mexico border and the current administration transporting them ACROSS STATE LINES.

Typical communists who make up stuff as the go along. Look at all of the media hosts, not one of them has anything right yet. To these little commies truth is the farthest thing from their mind. It's the damage they want done, destroy the person even though they know he's innocent. Doesn't matter, it's for the party. The only reason these hypocrites have a job is because they work for communist networks owned by China....Got it....

This is a great example of how effective operant conditioning is. The msm and the dims rely on this method of behavior modification every day. Why? Because, as you can see, it works. In this case, the weak-minded are conditioned to believe that the white people who were killed are really black people.

The mass murderer who killed those white band kids in Wisconsin made it clear that he was a BLM supporter and angry about the verdict. These children's blood is also on their hands. They must be held accountable. Freedom of speech and press end at Incitement ("likely to incite or produce lawless action"), or "False statements of fact". Sue them!

I agree with #1 that the 'drove across state lines'' trope is really getting tiresome. I also think Tucker is correct when he says the Demoncrats are using this to set up passing laws to overrule states that actually abide by the constitution, in order to nullify the second amendment.

There are federal laws involving the crossing of state lines to commit crimes. The Mann Act is one example. Another is the law used, passed prior to the 1968 democratic convention, to prosecute the Chicago 7. And former governor Spitzer of NY was federally charged with interstate transfer of funds to pay his hookers.

They’re now trying to shut down everything again and make the world safe again for private jet-flying elites to escape from voters. This time they claim there’s a super-spreading, super-scary new variant of the Wuhan (pardon me, COVID-19) virus from Africa. As far as I’m able to discover there is no test for it, it has actually been around since July and it doesn’t seem particularly fatal. So far it has produced only mild cases. But the taste of totalitarian control has only whetted the desire for more, with the thought of destroying those “deplorable” productive citizens of the middle class an added bonus.

The Thanksgiving holiday, which commemorates one part of the Pilgrim story, remains the favorite holiday for many Americans. And for good reasons beyond enjoying a feast. With 2021 being the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving, it is worth revisiting the Pilgrim “character” and their five significant achievements, which created the seminal story of America and reveals remarkable insight into who we are. First, of the many groups of settlers who came to America, only the Pilgrims were singularly motivated by a quest for religious freedom. They repeatedly spoke about their voyage to the New World in terms of a flight from tyranny to freedom,

For 85 minutes on Friday, we held our breath as America’s-not-Sweetheart Kamala Harris was acting president while Joe Biden was anesthetized for a colonoscopy. Near in time, a 12-member panel of jurors in Kenosha, Wisconsin ignored threats shouted on the courtroom steps to find Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty of all the charges against him. The judge and defense counsel bravely labored on, ignoring the many death threats against them. Kyle was brave to defend himself during the riot and at the trial where the prosecution engaged in numerous unethical acts, not the least of which was charging him with crimes for which they lacked any reasonable scintilla of evidence.

For reasons that appear to be associated with her support for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination, the school seems to have a vendetta against Professor Amy Chua. Chua was banned from teaching Yale Law’s important “small group” classes after being accused of, well, something. A deep-dive investigative report by The New York Times found no evidence that Chua had actually done anything wrong. Ten years ago this coming February, George Zimmermann shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on a rainy night in Sanford, Florida. Without intending, Zimmerman triggered a dark new phase in the history of progressive America. Beginning with the Sacco and Vanzetti case in the 1920s, the left lied to conceal the guilt of the guilty. Yes, Virginia, those two bad boys were guilty. Upton Sinclair, who “proved” their innocence in his epic novel Boston, knew they were guilty. Of particular concern to McCullough is the mRNA jabs’ ability to make the human body produce spike protein. “Everything we have learned about the spike protein since release of the vaccines is bad, 100% bad,” he lamented. “This spike protein—in itself—is pathogenic,” he continued. “This spike protein—in itself—is lethal to some through mechanisms which are now CORRECTION*

In medieval days, before there were secular dramas, there were roving bands of semi-professional actors performing morality plays. The plays were often short and sometimes even farcical. Plots were designed to encourage moral choices or illustrate Biblical stories. (Snip) Today, we have criminal trials as national entertainment. They usually take days and too often devolve into farce, as did the Kenosha trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, fumbled by the prosecutors (looking so much like Laurel and Hardy) trying the 17-year-old hero for shooting two felons to death and wounding a third man during a days’ long riot, arson and looting.

No, the Democrats—aka “The Party of Science”—did not flunk high school biology. Between grade inflation and “woke” stupidity, nobody flunks much of anything in high school these days. But there is another explanation why they—and even the vaunted Dr. Anthony Fauci—act as if natural immunity is not the best immunity against COVID-19 as it is against so many other illnesses, including childhood ones. In case you did miss high school biology and have been living under an Everest-size pile of rocks, natural immunity is what you have via antibodies after an illness ends that prevents you from getting that illness again.

As of Thursday, this tale of a magic castle in Colombia (or something) is expected to gross just $26 million over three days and an anemic $38.6 million over the full five-day holiday. First off, no one can blame streaming. This is a theatrical-only release. Secondly, no one can blame the pandemic. Plenty of movies are opening just fine. How bad is this? Oh, it’s bad. Democrats have long wanted the government to parent or co-parent your children, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that President Joe Biden said the quiet part out loud Monday night. Is the administration upset that you might be spending too much time with your family? The statement is also rather vague. The “nearly 2 million” number, I assume, represents the 1.8 million-woman reduction in our labor force during the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s untrue to claim this loss is only due to women leaving work to care for a family member. There are myriad reasons why the pandemic and government-induced shutdowns could have diminished the female workforce.

We saw the Dow take a huge plunge immediately after, likely in part because of thinking that this news could lead back to more government restrictions and problems. I reported earlier today on the announcement about the new COVID variant out of South Africa that immediately had some freaking out because it was supposedly “heavily mutated” and that the spike protein was “dramatically different.” That raised questions about whether immunity and the vaccines would be protective against it. There were also suggestions that it was “highly contagious among young people.” So, it seemed obvious they were gearing up to go crazy over this again. Then we reported on Dr. Anthony Fauci claiming they needed more time and information to decide on whether they needed to be talking about travel bans, that they wouldn’t be implementing a travel ban yet.

In early August Gideon Schreiber and a team of virologists at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel began playing around with the spike protein of the Sars-CoV-2 virus–the protein that allows the virus to enter our cells–to see if they could predict future mutations that could yield dangerous new variants of Covid-19. At the time, Schreiber noted with concern that there were a variety of ways in which the spike protein could evolve. If all of these mutations occurred at once, it could yield a variant that was both extremely transmissible and potentially capable of evading some of the body’s immune defences
