Lack of accountability for Steele dossier

Axios says there’s a media “reckoning” over coverage of the Steele dossier after the partisan oppo document’s primary source was charged with lying to the FBI. “It’s one of the most egregious journalistic errors in modern history,” writes Sara Fischer, “and the media’s response to its own mistakes has so far been tepid.” “Tepid” is a nice way of putting it. While The Washington Post “corrected” some of its discredited dossier reporting, removing portions connecting former President Donald Trump to Russia,

What they don't report makes the so called media irrelevant, untrustworthy, unreliable, one sided troublemakers. Nothing new, this has been going on forever. They became spoiled when abccbsnbc were the only networks ...now they have competition that exposes their misdeeds. One Big Problem, it takes years for their less than truthful reporting is exposed....

Look at what this country has come to…the media cannot be trusted to report the truth. The government is corrupt to the point that a President’s son can openly extort foreign countries to benefit his corrupt family and nothing is done. A sitting President was falsely accused of collusion by the opposition party using a dossier they bought and paid for and knew was nothing more than a creation of lies for the purpose of hamstringing a President. The democrat party openly stole the Presidential election of 2020 with the support of big tech and the media and nothing has come from it. The illegitimate puppet sitting behind the Resolute Desk with his puppet masters pulling the strings are doing their best to destroy this country with every policy they enact. The FBI and DOJ are mired in corruption up to their eyeballs. The country is on the brink of civil war ginned up by a racist media narrative that has resulted in a massacre in Wisconsin. We are so bombarded with all this that we can’t even process it, and the government has no intention of addressing the multiple failings they have caused. Good men and women of integrity must stand up and speak out. Staying quiet only emboldens the left. We will either do what we are doing now which is nigh to nothing or we will demand an accounting. I cannot believe that our leaders are actually willing to surrender this country to this madness. Show some courage, McConnell & McCarthy! Address forcefully our concerns and hold this administration accountable for the chaos the country is experiencing. We can only move forward when good men do what is right. Apathy from the leadership or even complicity is unacceptable. Americans are tired of having their country destroyed by men who do not have the heart or will to face down the evil that is destroying us,

FTA: “It’s one of the most egregious JOURNALISTIC ERRORS in modern history,” writes Sara Fischer, “and the media’s response to its own MISTAKES has so far been tepid.” These were not mistakes nor errors, they were indeed egregious but purposeful treasonous slander. Damn the souls of the author for saying they were less than that.

Journalistic error? Are they trying to make us laugh after four years of this? The media were salivating over this smear of Donald Trump so badly that they all had to carry napkins around to wipe their chins when they read the news. Their unanimous line was, "poor Hillary, victimized by Putin and Trump." Knock it off, morons, we had your number way back in 2016. They didn't have to pay government lawyers millions of dollars to figure out that she was behind this and was helped by John McCain and the entire top management layer of the Hoover Boys Club.

It would be interesting if FPDT filed libel suits against everyone from Steele and Fusion GPS, Coie Perkins, Hillary Clinton, and everyone right up to the newspapers and broadcast networks that colluded to pass along this disinformation. Was the dossier false? Did those disseminating it know it was false? Was there "actual malice"? Was it published with reckless disregard of the truth? As New York Times columnist Anthony Lewis noted, “It is not just judgments that worry publishers and reporters and others concerned with freedom of expression. It is the cost of defending libel actions: the cost not only in money but in time and in the psychological burden on editors and reporters.” Time to pull off the mask...and this would be a fitting vehicle.

The former president's shadow campaign team polled Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, all of which were decided in favor of President Biden by 3 percentage points or less. The team found that in Georgia, Trump would be ahead by 3 points, 8 points in Arizona, 12 points in Michigan, 6 points in Pennsylvania and 10 points in Wisconsin, if the race were held today.Together, the states represent 73 electoral votes.
