An Iowa student asked Turncoat Vice President Mike Pence why he “bucked Trump” and went ahead and certified the clearly fraudulent election results on January 6th.Pence did this while President Trump was speaking to over a million supporters at the Ellipse in Washington DC. The people knew the election was stolen on Jan. 6th. And today a majority of American voters still believe Democrats cheated to in in 2020.On Thursday night an Iowa student asked Mike Pence for the name of the person who told him to buck Trump and certify the 2020 election results.

The real answer is "no one told him to do it".
He's a member of the uni-party swamp. He just did what came naturally to him.

I believe VP Pence followed his conscience. No one can claim he was anything but loyal to President Trump during the four years they were in office, and only an idiot would claim he had something to gain by incurring the wrath of his fellow Republicans.

Too bad the video didn't provide Pence's complete answer. It might have demolished the premise of that kid's question.
There is no reason to believe that the VP did not act in good faith on January 6. Speculative assumptions by angry Trump supporters does not amount to sustainable reason. If Pence - always an honorable and patriotic, Christian man - chose to do what he regarded as his constitutional duty, then that is to his credit.
And the game was over long before Pence came to the Capitol on 1/6. No ten day "review" was going to overturn the certified results of the states.

Pence was a coward. Plain and simple.

I didn't go to the January 6 rally to support the President. I wanted to go, but my work commitment and my general aversion to "travel" kept me away. A friend from my town went and he told me immediately in messaging that the whole ruckus at the Capitol building was a setup. The Capitol police told them where to go; they positioned them and crowded them into the area where the teargas cannisters where landed. Everything was fine until the teargas. And, of course, we all know that the Capitol police not only opened the doors to the buildings, but also escorted people into the Senate and House chambers.
President Trump used terrible judgement in not recognizing that the rally was the perfect opportunity for Democrats to create the "insurrection". Pence could not be part of that. I believe Mike Pence had no choice. There was nothing, at that point, which was going to turn the "results" of the election around. Republicans failed to prevent voter fraud in November 2020 and they failed again in New Jersey in 2021. That failure is at the state levels. The Democrats have the SEIU in every state in their pockets. The SEIU represents most of the bureaucrats in state and municipal governments. The "Deep State", I believe, centers on the relationship between the Democrat Party and the SEIU. All the SEIU people that sit at the desks and do the daily scut work of government are complicit in the fraud of the Democrat Party.

Madison was willing to risk his life as a Patriot standing against the tyranny of the British. He was considered by the ruling government to be a traitor.
Pence couldn't even risk being ridiculed by CNN.

#6, I believe he did follow his conscience. He thought it was right and noble. But his "conscience" was WRONG. He made a bad decision. We have an idiot in office now who makes one bad decision after another, our Country cannot afford another President who will do the same. We need strength, backbone, fearless, deliberate leader.

Play the rest of the video where Pence further explains Madison's / his reasoning: The Constitution gives certification of the States, not the Federal government. Pence could not constitutionally block the vote certification.

So far I have read all the comments, both pro and con, as to VP Pences' actions that day. Maybe, just maybe, the point of all this is that the student only brings to light that there is a strong feeling in this country, even in colleges, that corruption in government is rampart. This applies to local, state, as well as the Federal levels.
We have just seen where the FBI withheld critical video evidence in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. That organization has been accused of malfeasance multiple times. The Intelligence community hasn't performed much better.
These have all come to light with the blessing of the Internet.
People of all stripes want justice in the form of fair and open government.
There's a movement building and will come to a head soon. When our young people, who are normally liberal, are starting to see the problems I believe we are in for a reckoning.

Once the courts refused to get involved in the obviously-tainted elections in certain states, it was obvious that the Deep State had succeeded in ousting Trump and there wasn't anything Pence or Trump could do. Having said that, Pence is an unworthy successor to Trump - he's a "go-along" member of the old boys' club. For that reason, his presidential aspirations are DOA. He just doesn't know it yet.

I see that even here on Luciannne we have people defending Pence...saying "he did the honorable thing "...???
..what these people don't get is that WE ARE IN A WAR for the soul of this country...against dems who will literally DO ANYTHING to win ...and you want to fight back using the Marquis of Queensbury Rules ...??
Harry Truman ( the last decent dem) dropped atomic bombs that killed hundreds of thousands of men, women and children...because he had the courage to do what he had to do to win a war against ruthless barbarians
..Pence lacked the courage to stand up and say "No" to election-stealing thugs
...he earned and deserves our scorn

Sadly, I was not surprised by Pence’s actions - he is a gelded jellyfish - no cojones and no spine.
I lost any trust in him back when he was governor of Indiana. The state legislature passed a freedom of religion bill which protected those with religious objections from being forced to provide goods and services to LGBTs, such as wedding cakes, venues, etc. Pence signed the bill and then, when the queer folk went after him, he caved and canceled the bill.

The Senate accepted the states' electoral counts...just like the Constitution provides. Challenges were not made. What's Pence's basis for not "certifying"?
While raging over Pence, let's talk about those SIX REPUBLICAN LEGISLATURES who sent Biden electors with no more than cursory review of the elections that were controversial from Day One. Chase those guys down and start asking the "tough questions". If there was indeed fraud, and I certainly believe there was skullduggery, these states are where it happened. And don't fall for the "recount" (forensic or otherwise) scam. Nothing to see there...

Pence stabbed Trump in the back in the end to get rid of Trump. I don't buy that Pence was loyal all those years. There was always something wrong with personnel selections in the Trump administration. I think Trump appointed Pence to do personnel reviews, and he worked with McConnell and McCarthy to appoint nothing but rino's. Pence cannot explain why he could not have postponed his decision. Now we are saddled with an illegitimate president.

Good faith adherence to one's constitutional obligation and a lack of nerve or "cajones" are two very different things. The results were not going to be overturned, regardless of how dubious the certification processes in the states might have been. The election was lost at the state level months earlier, with illegal changes to election laws under the cover of Covid. Trump even warned us of the possibilities for such corruption during his campaign rally speeches.
Some folks here seem to believe that Pence had the outcome of the election in his hands and muffed it. Not so. Too much shooting from the hip when it comes to this subject,

I don't call him Pontius Pence. Pontius recognized the Law and reacted properly. I call him what he really is, Judas Pence. Betraying and selling out his country for a price. He is no Christian either, twisting the Bible like he is to excuse fraud. He is nothing more than a phony Churchian, who was hungry for acceptance back into the Swamp to be with his buddies again.

Mike Pence, never the strongest guy and certainly not presidential material, gave in to something or someone and compromised himself when he did not do what was appropriate as president of the Senate. That is not about Trump loyalty. That is about protection of the American people against the fraudulent manipulation of electiong. He flunked this test and showed he is not fit for any public office. He should go back to his radio show in Indiana and try to redeem himself.

Pence - an honorable man who brought us Biden as heaven forbid he didn’t certify the election results and there was a Consitutional crisis as if we aren’t in one now with a senile President and even worse VP. Pence - who surrendered as Governor when the religious freedom restoration act was challenged.

IMHO, He is called Pontius Pence because he indeed had the ability to recognise and apply the law; yet, he refused to do so--and washed his hands of it.
Pence's only driving motivation was to conceal his ruthless power fantasies underneath a fake, brittle, veneer of ersatz honour, that of insincere Evangelical Christianity-- used in service of hiding his homosexuality.
As with the rest of the pervie power mongers, duping their constituents, he will do ANYthing to escape exposure and loss of power.
You lot should be able to see--with startling clarity--that Pence easily could have taken the side of right, just, and constitutional when it was offered to him by, of all places, PA.
PA begged the VP to send their slate of electors back to the state authorities for deeper review , based upon allegations of fraud.
He now had the golden opportunity to expose the Fix that was in, and set the state dominoes to falling.
All the swing states were nervous. If PA got their chance to correct the vote, many would have followed.
Additionally, he could have made himself as hero to voters in NM, wherein the state conceded their election results were so dubious, that they offered dual slates of electors-to allow the vote to go to Trump.
But, no.
He was part of the Fix: a talented but treacherous shammer-like the incredible Mr Ripley, and in no way guided by loyalty or honour to Trump, to his own voters, or to America.
This Judas sold the country and the free world for sex and 30 pcs of silver.
