Containment won't work with China

The US strategy fails to counter the Chinese Belt and Road. This next “war” is economic, and one wonders whether the Chinese haven’t already bought its most important assets: Congress and the White House.

One thing mentioned in the article is we cannot depend on NATO to contain China. That makes sense considering NATO is on the other side of the world in Europe. Have to imagine there would be a number of countries around China that would be interested in containing it. Another thing that needs to change is the relationship between China and Russia. They used to view each other as threats, but not so much anymore. The US is better off when China and Russia are focused on containing each other. The other thing that needs to change is the world's economic relationship with China. China brought us COVID. Why are we trading with them, and outsourcing production to China? It would put a big dent in globalization which isn't necessarily a bad thing. China views globalization as a means of expanding Chinese dominance. With the US population climbing so fast from all the 'migrants' coming in, we will need to create more jobs and businesses. it would also boost our economy at the expense of China's. if all these migrants are working and paying taxes, they will be less likely to go along with Democrat tax and spend big government policies. They won't want money being taken out of their pockets just like everyone else in this country.

So, the article concludes with a comment about needing new thinking and fresh ideas. Well, what do you think President Trump was offering and doing? Could we be behind simply due to the obstruction and resistance from democrats over the last 5 years? Same might be said of the crisis at the Ports. Did officials simply resist and not try to work with President Trump due to politics? After all, he was likely the best opportunity to actually fix things instead of trying to tinker around the edges while creating a massive public employee bureaucracy (which is always their goal).

If containment does work anywhere, I hope it is used on the Democrats. Something is sorely needed.

In a controversial passage in Plato’s Republic, Socrates introduced the idea of the “noble lie” (“gennaios pseudos”). A majestic fiction, he says, could sometimes serve society by persuading uninformed citizens of something good for them. Ever since, many prevaricators have used the excuse that they lied for the common good. Take Dr. Anthony Fauci, our point man on the COVID-19 epidemic. Fauci said he misled the country about mask-wearing during the pandemic by claiming they were of little use.

The U.S. Senate confirmed Cindy McCain and former Sen. Jeff Flake to diplomatic posts Tuesday, formalizing their roles in the administration of President Joe Biden, a man they helped put in the White House. Flake and McCain are Arizona Republicans who separately helped send the message to moderates in their party that they could support Biden over then-President Donald Trump. Now, Flake becomes the ambassador to Turkey, a traditional ally at a time when relations have strained in an authoritarian era
Illinois should end moral, religious exemptions

This week, state lawmakers are considering a proposal that would effectively end a part of the debate regarding COVID-19 vaccine and testing mandates. But even with its good intentions, it doesn’t appear to go far enough. As the Sun-Times’ Rachel Hinton reported this week, legislators have been considering a proposal that would ban employees from citing moral beliefs as a valid reason for refusing to comply with a workplace mandate for COVID-19 vaccination or testing. Under the Illinois measure, employees would still be able to cite religious or medical reasons for not complying with COVID-19 requirements. But in our view, as we approach a second winter of this pandemic,

The Culture War as we know it is over, and we’ve lost. Now, mark my words carefully. I said the Culture War as we know it is over. The war for our country’s soul has only just begun. What’s over now is what you might call the Napoleonic Phase of the Culture War: the two armies in smart uniforms lining up and trading grapeshot like gentlemen. That phase is over, and we’ve lost. The radical Left has finished its “long march through the institutions.” They now control every major center of power—be it political, military, economic, social, and cultural.

The West is collapsing under the weight of authoritarian governments. Their “representatives” are rapidly robbing the individual citizen of bodily autonomy, of freedom of movement, and of the ability to work, play, and partake in society. Under martial law, Australia and New Zealand, in the course of the COVID pandemic, have practically reverted to penal-colony status. Working in tandem as a criminal syndicate, Canadian and American government and corporate entities have colluded to corner the individual, and compel him to offer up his life-blood to the COVID spike protein.
The Targeting of Military Chaplains Under Biden 13 replies

Military chaplains who adhere to traditional Christian teaching find themselves with targets on their backs in Joe Biden’s military. Its amorphous definition of “bigotry” clearly extends to the historic teachings of Christianity about the natural moral law. Earlier this year, a chaplain who merely criticized transgenderism in a Facebook post was subject to an Army investigation. A foreshadowing of the persecution of Christian military chaplains could already be glimpsed under the Obama-Biden administration. In 2010, a top Army official described conservative Christian members of the military as “bigoted” and said those who can’t support the LGBT agenda “need to get out.” That view is even more pronounced today among Biden’s military brass.

One of Bill Clinton’s slippery slogans in the 1990s was that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare.” But the Left never cared for the ambivalence about abortion that that slogan conveyed. To counter that ambivalence, Planned Parenthood launched a campaign to celebrate abortion straightforwardly. It hawked T-shirts that said, “I had an abortion.” Abortion advocates such as Barbara Ehrenreich started writing openly about their own abortions. “You can blame a lot of folks, from media bigwigs to bishops, if we lose our reproductive rights, but it’s the women who shrink from acknowledging their own abortions who really irk me,” she wrote.

At Sunday night’s Tony Awards, Broadway put on a united front about wearing masks in theaters for the safety of audiences and performers alike. “Everyone here is vaxxed and tested, and everyone is wearing a mask,” host Leslie Odom Jr. said as he walked by celebs like Bernadette Peters and Lin-Manuel Miranda. “Every Broadway theater will look like this for a while, and that’s OK.” But away from the glare of the cameras at the Winter Garden Theater, the lecturing stopped cold.

In the continuing war for the truth, the good guys went to battle with a lone pea shooter against miscreants that have a military. To be precise, it is the military of the United States of America. First, it was the FBI, the CIA, the media, academia and others who crossed the line into political activism, and now we have clear evidence that the top man in the Pentagon also succumbed to the siren song of power. Its leader is the latest to have been exposed trying to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency.

Officials from the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services are considering the payments that could total close to $1 million for two people within the same family, people familiar told the Wall Street Journal. The American Civil Liberties Union, which represents the separated families, has identified about 5,500 children separated from parents at the border during the course of the Trump-era policy.

It was probably the worst day of Alec Baldwin's life when he accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie "Rust" on Oct. 21. It's a time to feel terrible about a 42-year-old woman with a husband and a young son. Then, CNN's Jake Tapper used it in one of his commentaries to denounce the entire Republican Party for making this tragedy an occasion for jokes. "There's something about our politics right now that is driving people away from our shared humanity."

Our current secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, is busy trying to find a way to tax wealth without calling it taxing wealth. She has eyes on taxing unrealized capital gains. What this means simply is taxing people for money they have not earned or received. That's it in a nutshell. That definition should leave even those who have never had a course in accounting or finance shaken. Not only is Janet Yellen considering this, but the Democrat party is on board as well.

As retrospection becomes ever more clear, knowledge of the impact of the Trump presidency has been taking form — especially when compared to the bunglers who came next. Perhaps most importantly, and without obvious intent, he managed to bring out the worst in his enemies. The U.S. will never be the same again. For starters, let's look at Adam Schiff and Gerald Nadler. Once just off-the-rack hack politicians, now they're cartoons...of sleaze-ball villains.
