Illinois should end moral, religious exemptions

This week, state lawmakers are considering a proposal that would effectively end a part of the debate regarding COVID-19 vaccine and testing mandates. But even with its good intentions, it doesn’t appear to go far enough. As the Sun-Times’ Rachel Hinton reported this week, legislators have been considering a proposal that would ban employees from citing moral beliefs as a valid reason for refusing to comply with a workplace mandate for COVID-19 vaccination or testing. Under the Illinois measure, employees would still be able to cite religious or medical reasons for not complying with COVID-19 requirements. But in our view, as we approach a second winter of this pandemic,

Indeed, you damn devil worshipers. Why would anyone object to being injected with an unknown and probably very dangerous material produced with fetal tissue from murdered babies? The reason we are still dealing with covid after all this time is because the vaccinated are shedding virus to others, the vaccination caused it to mutate, and government and media are obsessed with it. Most normal people never thought much about it, caught a mild case and now have natural immunity.

What a bunch of communist carp. I cant believe I am seeing this in what was once the freest nation ever to exist on the face of the earth. I know Illinois is against everything good and right in America. between their anti gun laws and openly corrupt politicians, there is not much to recommend the place. But do they have to try to beat Kalifornia in terms of tyranny? They really are not a part of America.

My son never got the vaccine and when he had to have blood work done for insurance, he asked them to check for covid antibodies. He has a lot of them. He's quite healthy and determined not to take the vaccine.

Due to the glacial pace any court challenge would take to question the constitutionality of the removal of the religious exemption (without an injunction), civil disobediance and a collapse of public services due to a lack of employees is about the only way to make the point. Game on. I wonder if the paper's legal counsel has explained to the pin heads in the editorial department just what the Free Exercise Clause means?

There is a law in Illinois called the Healthcare Rights of Conscience Act, that says essentially that no one can be compelled to commit any action against their conscience or free will with regards to healthcare. It has been on the books for many years. Now, our fatsack of a governor, and the communist General Assembly, are going to gut the law, because it stands in their way of vaccine mandates. They are all saying that the law was never intended to apply to INDIVIDUALS, even though the law says individuals by name. There is nothing we can do to stop them from destroying the law and plunging ahead. Communists have super-majorities in both houses, and a pantload communist governor. They will simply sweep aside any law that stands in their way to poison the entire population. For those that might consider typing 'You get what you vote for' - shove it. Chicago controls everything - we have no say. We will not vote our way out of this.

I find myself at a point of thinking that when the cold and flu season hits as it usually does, how many people like the writers are going to find themselves much sicker than normal thanks to that jab? I will have no sympathy for those who whine about that worse than usual cold they get or even that extra case of covid they welcomed when they took the jab. Stop ignoring the reality liberals. You want the government to break the law, and I have no kindness left for you. There is so much wrong with this jab, and now the media wants to force heart disease at the minimum on children and those who have very good reasons to not take the jab. Like being immunocompromised for one thing. I love #6. Let's turn this around on them, using their own rules to do so.

I refuse to be jabbed with an unknown substance in the promise it will save me from a bad cold. I don't take flu shots because I don't care to have a hint of feeling I have the flu. That said, I had to preregister for a small surgery signing all the necessary papers with questions concerning the procedure. One question was, 'would I allow a blood transfusion during the procedure if needed' I signed yes. Upon returning home my wife and I discussed the transfusion and I became alarmed that it could be blood from a person who was vaccinated which I wouldn't want. I didn't need any blood for the small surgery but one must think about that now. I did have a Covid test which was negative prior to the surgery.

Leaks are turning into floods. We are hearing about brutal clinical studies on puppies and other animals, and now a study involving orphans in New York. These studies were funded, in whole or part, by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a federal agency headed up by Anthony Fauci since 1984. In 2014, investigative reporter, Liam Scheff, wrote an article at omsj[dot]org, looking back on the orphan scandal. Ten years earlier, he had broken the story, and was then subjected to multiple attacks in the press.

Not so long ago, President Joe Biden was being talked of as a transformative president, a second Franklin D. Roosevelt in terms of the domestic agenda he would enact. And there was substance to the claim. Early in his presidency, Biden had passed a $1.9 trillion stimulus package. While his majorities in both houses of Congress were razor-thin, they proved sufficient to push through a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. Clusters of Republicans backed the Biden infrastructure bill.

Though it acts as a court, it has no official status. The governments asked to participate have either snubbed or (in the case of China) condemned it. Some witnesses, under threat of sanctions from Beijing, started dropping out before its proceedings had even begun. And yet, the Uyghur Tribunal, whose final hearings took place in London in September, is an institution nobody can afford to ignore. It offers the best hope yet of answering a pressing question: is China committing genocide against the Uyghurs, the 12 million Turkic Muslims in the northwestern region of Xinjiang? In a controversial passage in Plato’s Republic, Socrates introduced the idea of the “noble lie” (“gennaios pseudos”). A majestic fiction, he says, could sometimes serve society by persuading uninformed citizens of something good for them. Ever since, many prevaricators have used the excuse that they lied for the common good. Take Dr. Anthony Fauci, our point man on the COVID-19 epidemic. Fauci said he misled the country about mask-wearing during the pandemic by claiming they were of little use.

The Culture War as we know it is over, and we’ve lost. Now, mark my words carefully. I said the Culture War as we know it is over. The war for our country’s soul has only just begun. What’s over now is what you might call the Napoleonic Phase of the Culture War: the two armies in smart uniforms lining up and trading grapeshot like gentlemen. That phase is over, and we’ve lost. The radical Left has finished its “long march through the institutions.” They now control every major center of power—be it political, military, economic, social, and cultural.

The West is collapsing under the weight of authoritarian governments. Their “representatives” are rapidly robbing the individual citizen of bodily autonomy, of freedom of movement, and of the ability to work, play, and partake in society. Under martial law, Australia and New Zealand, in the course of the COVID pandemic, have practically reverted to penal-colony status. Working in tandem as a criminal syndicate, Canadian and American government and corporate entities have colluded to corner the individual, and compel him to offer up his life-blood to the COVID spike protein.

Military chaplains who adhere to traditional Christian teaching find themselves with targets on their backs in Joe Biden’s military. Its amorphous definition of “bigotry” clearly extends to the historic teachings of Christianity about the natural moral law. Earlier this year, a chaplain who merely criticized transgenderism in a Facebook post was subject to an Army investigation. A foreshadowing of the persecution of Christian military chaplains could already be glimpsed under the Obama-Biden administration. In 2010, a top Army official described conservative Christian members of the military as “bigoted” and said those who can’t support the LGBT agenda “need to get out.” That view is even more pronounced today among Biden’s military brass.

One of Bill Clinton’s slippery slogans in the 1990s was that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare.” But the Left never cared for the ambivalence about abortion that that slogan conveyed. To counter that ambivalence, Planned Parenthood launched a campaign to celebrate abortion straightforwardly. It hawked T-shirts that said, “I had an abortion.” Abortion advocates such as Barbara Ehrenreich started writing openly about their own abortions. “You can blame a lot of folks, from media bigwigs to bishops, if we lose our reproductive rights, but it’s the women who shrink from acknowledging their own abortions who really irk me,” she wrote.
