China denies testing nuclear-capable hypersonic missile

China has denied reports that it tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile earlier this year, insisting instead that it was a routine spacecraft check. The initial report in the Financial Times newspaper prompted concern in Washington, where US intelligence was reportedly caught by surprise. Hypersonic missiles are much faster and more agile than normal ones, meaning they are more difficult to intercept. It comes as concern grows around China's nuclear capabilities. On Monday, foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian told a media briefing that a routine test had been carried out in July to verify different types of reusable spacecraft technology.

Since a hypersonic nuke launched by what is basically an icbm is an incredibly stupid weapon design, they may not lying that it didn't happen. Or they design some really dumb weapons.

Faster than an atmospheric missile....yes. Faster than a standard orbital satellite, no. Normal orbital speed is about 17,500 mph, which is about Mach 24.....that is well into hypersonic range. I if it can maneuver aerodynamically....that would be different than a ballistic missile re-entry body, and make it harder to hit with a anti-missile missile. Current maneuvering re-entry bodies use rockets to maneuver, limiting their ability to maneuver. IF it can use fins to maneuver, a big if, then OK, that's a new capability. Otherwise, seems like not a lot new.

If China has it, then it was stolen from us (or sold by someone within our government), as we've been developing such capability for around 30 years. This is where democrat coziness with communists is putting our national interests in a bad spot, which I suppose is their intention.

Ok, maybe a weird and stupid weapon designed to score propaganda points and humiliate Brandon some more. Wake up the gymp. Alternatively, maybe our 4th branch lit the propaganda fuse by planting the story and the initial brag about it stories. Now China says wait a minute, that didn't happen. If this scenario is true, look for Brandon to do something "tough and forceful" but without teeth. Just to show how macho he is. Dangerous times.

All this talk about missiles has made me realize I didn’t know what the “ballistic” in the old term. inter-continental ballistic missile” meant. I didn’t know an ICBM was only guided while its fuel lasted, also that the missile rose into orbital altitudes, and that its trajectory was like a bullet, and once it started to fall back to earth, probably “unguided” by that time, it might reach hypersonic velocity. Imagine the calculations necessary to make such a thing take off and accurately hit a target half the world away! Could all that technology and science be the reason we are able to post to Lucianne.com from the comfort of the living room couch?

White House Mocks Suffering Americans
as Joe Biden's Ratings Reach New Lows

Is there a more well-known saying than “If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging?” Yet, apparently, that nugget of wisdom has not reached the hallowed halls of the White House. Today, even as the supply chain crisis grows, Jen Psaki decided it’d be a great idea to mock suffering Americans. You know, because this entire thing is about not being able to get a treadmill or something. Remember President Ron Klain’s recent endorsement of the idea that inflation and supply chain issues are a “high-class” problem? This is the double down by an administration that just can’t get out of its own way.

In what seems like an attempt to distance President Joe Biden from the supply chain crisis ravaging the country and the globe, the Washington Post — which is owned by Jeff Bezos, one of the richest men in the world — published an op-ed on Monday telling American consumers to “try to lower expectations” moving forward. “Rather than living constantly on the verge of throwing a fit, and risking taking it out on overwhelmed servers, struggling shop owners or late-arriving delivery people, we’d do ourselves a favor by consciously lowering expectations,” Micheline Maynard wrote for the Post.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to fall, with 37 percent of Americans approving the job he is doing, according to a Quinnipiac poll released on Tuesday. While only 37 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance, 52 percent disapprove. The numbers are similar when asked about their opinion of the president. Only 38 percent of Americans report a favorable opinion of Biden, whereas 50 percent have an unfavorable opinion. Biden’s approval numbers have drastically declined since his botched Afghanistan pullout at the end of August. The last time Biden’s approval rating was positive was in the days leading up to the August 31 Afghanistan withdrawal. Federal vaccine

It appears Thiel’s desire to influence GOP politics is not over. Politico reports that Thiel contributed the maximum amount to Harriet Hageman, who is challenging Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.). This follows President Trump’s endorsement of Hageman. He has also donated to Joe Kent, Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler’s (R-Wash.) primary challenger. Both sitting

Fed-up parents made waves Tuesday after they filed a “federal civil rights lawsuit” against radical Attorney General Merrick Garland for unjustly suggesting parents protesting at school board meetings were committing “domestic terrorism.” This major development in the fight to de-radicalize liberal school boards went completely unmentioned by the evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC, just as did their weekend protest outside the Department of Justice. Instead of reporting on the parents fighting back against the Biden administration’s tyranny, ABC’s World News Tonight was busy touting a transgendered “woman” being installed as a four-star general. On the CBS Evening News, they were hawking and huffing about cops and firefighters

Blame the American consumer! That’s the approach liberal outlet Axios used to explain away the atrocious labor shortages affecting the U.S. economy, and not President Joe Biden’s economic policies. Axios published a snobbish piece headlined, “Unruly customers threaten economic recovery.” The outlet’s asinine argument was that “increasingly violent and combative customers,” angry about “long wait times and mask mandates,” were causing workers to quit, hamstringing a recovery that hinges in part on employees “returning to work.” But unlike Axios, The Wall Street Journal editorial board didn’t hesitate to pin the labor shortage blame on the proper culprit: “Bidenomics.”

After wrecking the supply chain, the White House should be begging for mercy from consumers. After all, it was Democrats, including some in the White House, who created the supply chain mess, leaving mass numbers of ships stranded at ports. Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg went on extended family leave without appointing a deputy or telling much of anyone. California's ruling Democrats put into place laws that prohibit independent truckers or trucks more than three years old from collecting containerized merchandise from port offloads. California Democrat union allies kept port labor at banker's hours, unlike their globally competitive rivals. Joe Biden's Fed printed money

Powell was also fully vaccinated, and that has represented an inconvenient reality for many people. As I’ll explain later, I’m not sure why. But what was so interesting to me is how quickly the standards shifted in regards to how you are supposed to discuss people who die of COVID.
