Donald Trump criticized late Secretary of State Colin Powell as a 'RINO' who 'made plenty of mistakes' in a Tuesday statement one day after Powell's death of COVID-19 complications at age 84.In a statement full of mixed messages Trump commented on the posthumous praise Powell has been receiving since Monday morning and said he hoped he'd get the same treatment 'one day.''Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media,' Trump said

I have been waiting for the response from President Trump. If the accolades for Collin Powell continue, the communist Pope will be forced to start the sainthood process for the late General. Powell was dirt, or worse, to the left until he attacked Trump. RIP General and don't believe these press clippings.

I am not mourning the loss of Powell who I considered a substandard officer and a traitor to the Conservatives everywhere. So no, I won't play the hypocrite either.

While the swamp politicians cry their crocodile tears and slobber all over Powell for being a good guy, they forget the bad things he did (some pointed out by Trump). For example, he was complicit in an investigation during Bush's administration that cost millions of dollars into who leaked that Valerie Plame was a CIA operative and that sent the wrong person to prison for it. Patrick Fitzgerald knew in advance from Powell and his deputy Richard Armitage who the leaker was before the investigation began; it was Armitage. Nonetheless, they sent Scooter Libby, an innocent man, to prison for the leak. It was President Trump who finally pardoned him.

Over 84 years, people evolve on many subjects. Powell, as a young Army captain, served in Viet Nam as an advisor three years before we sent in U. S. combat troops. He did a second tour in '68 as a major and was decorated for bravery after rescuing three others in a helicopter crash. Before his 4th star, he served as Reagan's National Security Advisor. He was nothing like Milley when he chaired the JCS. I think too much DC led him to later embrace Obama but he had a noteworthy background prior to his flights of democrat fancy. The point is, people change - for better or worse. Like Reagan, Trump was once a democrat but unlike Reagan, Trump was an independent in 1987 and changed to a democrat in 2001 before changing to a Republican in 2009; however, he switched back to independent from 2011 to 2012, when he again switched back to Republican. Powell had a long career before losing his mind over Obama. Trump's comments on Powell are applauded by his most die-hard supporters but not so much by those who were warming up to the idea of him back in the White House. Those folks will likely be needed to provide the margin sufficient to overcome democrat cheating in '24.
