A Texas man helped to stop a suspected killer during a carjacker after surviving a similar incident months ago. Lewis Matos was sitting at his desk on May 26 when a car crashed through his building, knocking him from his chair and pushing debris on top of him. Two people, Juan Mendez and Jaritza Chavarria, got out of the car and tried to shoot Matos while his desk pinned him to the ground. [Tweet] Months later, he was in the same area of Uvalde on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. when he saw a man trying to force a woman, Jessica Garza, from her car, ABC 13 reported.

I believe a little editing is in order. This occurred on Uvalde Ave in Houston, not on Uvalde, nearly 300 miles due west.

Good on Lewis Matos for catching the POS! This crime is what we as a country get after having overturned the three-strike rule! ( FTA: crimes dating back to 1985 )

I give a reserved 'bravo' to Brock, reserved only because the nearly-complete dearth of editing makes this article somewhat incoherent. The increasing brazenness of criminal lifestyles in this country needs to be stopped before it becomes malignant. Let's have more of that relatively peaceful and law-abiding society that we had before 2020. And let's return to hailing that as "civilization" rather than deriding it as "white privilege".

I’ve seen disaster after disaster, both natural and policy-related, devastate our oil and gas supply over the past 13 years of my pipelining career. Yet through all of this, I have never been more concerned for our nation and its energy security than I am right now, watching the Biden administration minimize the progress we have made over the past decade. I began my career as a welder’s helper before realizing that I had all of the necessary skills to be a pipeline welder myself. I’ve become passionate about doing my part

For almost 50 years, Roe v. Wade has been where the debate and complexities that surround abortion have ultimately ended. Texas placing limits on abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, and House Democrats then countering with the ‘Women’s Health Protection Act‘ have again pushed the debate into the legal and political forefront. Some are suggesting the door has been cracked open for the courts to eventually overturn the landmark case or revisit the merits. For as long as I can remember,

One of the implied promises behind the Democrats’ endless (and escalating) efforts to destroy the Second Amendment and disarm Americans is the promise that murder will become a thing of the past—and, if not all murders, at least mass murders, involving more than one victim. However, in Florida, one man managed to kill three people with a baseball bat and a knife, as well as seriously injured another victim. The problem wasn’t the weapons; it was that a man angry after a fight with his supervisor started killing innocents with the weapons he had at hand. If you look at the picture of Shaun Runyon

The article continued: Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said the assault happened shortly after news coverage of the trial aired and just after Corey was taken back to his cell block, which houses major felony inmates. Twitter fact-checked an obituary of a young mother whose death is being attributed to a blood disorder induced by COVID-19, prompting backlash from Republican lawmakers and members of conservative media. The social media giant put a since-removed "misleading" label on a tweet that included a link to the obituary along with the caption: "Seattle, WA — Jessica Berg Wilson, an ‘exceptionally healthy and vibrant 37-year-old young mother with no underlying health conditions,’ passed away from COVID Vaccine-Induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia. She did not want to get vaccinated." Twitter's "misleading" label also included information on "why health officials consider COVID-19 vaccines safe for most people."

It's too soon to say whether the pandemic has eased enough for families to gather for Christmas this year, Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday. Fauci, making the Sunday talk show rounds, said on CBS News' "Face the Nation" that Americans first need to focus on lowering the number of new infections and hospitalizations. The best way to do that: Vaccination and booster shots, he said. "We've just got to concentrate on continuing to get those numbers down and not try to jump ahead by weeks or months and say what we're going to do at a particular time," Fauci said.

On Saturday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Yasmin Vossoughian Reports,” Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) argued that the $3.5 trillion price tag for the Build Back Better Act reconciliation package “is a modest investment” for an economy the size of America’s. Torres said, “[T]here’s misconception about the price tag of the Build Back Better Act. The Build Back Better Act, the original draft, it is not 3.5 trillion over the course of a year. It’s over the course of ten years. So, it’s $350 billion. Which, for a $20 trillion economy like ours, is a modest investment. So, I think it’s shortsighted to focus on the price tag.”

His made-up persona runs into some trouble after his brother (Jesse Plemons) brings home a new wife (Kirsten Dunst) and her queer son (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Phil torments them until he finds himself exposed to the possibility of love.
