Nearly 3,700 substitute teachers needed
in NYC ahead of vaccine deadline

The city Department of Education is looking to plug nearly 3,700 openings for substitute teachers as the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for public school staffers goes into effect Monday, The Post has learned. The 3,659 vacancies amount to an average of about two subs per each of the system’s roughly 1,800 schools — though the needs at some schools, including in Brooklyn and Queens, are far greater, according to an email sent Saturday and obtained by The Post. The starting dates for the fill-in gigs range from Monday to May 2022, though the bulk of the roles begin in October,

The law of unintended consequences strikes again!! And yet, Dementia Joe wants to continue to pay people to stay home on unemployment. Going to be interesting to see if and with whom these positions get filled, especially with the jab mandate in place.

The tragedy is that Communist Democrats are determined to vaccinate our children who will lose natural response to an insignificant infection at young age. Vaccines do not work, probably none at all, and Antibody. Enhanced Disease should be the main concern of US the vaccinated now.

Given that our public schools are graduating kids who cannot read, write, or do basic arithmetic, I don't see the problem.

A true vaccine usually does work. There is always a small handful of people where they do not work due to their personal body chemistry. This is NOT a vaccine. It is an inoculation. The hope is it will protect against the virus but if you catch the virus it will make the symptoms easier to handle. We are inoculating people with the 2019 covid shot. This form of covid probably no longer remains. It has changed into numerous variants therefore this shot is outdated. Just like when the flu shot is reworked every new for a new season with a new variant. Would you feel protected against the flu if you were offered the 2018 shot? I doubt it. This is no different. This shot will protect and help, hopefully, but at a much lower level than when originally offered. After two years I would have thought it might be reworked and updated.

A substitute teacher is little more than a baby sitter. There will be little or no teaching. Once again, its the kids that are the losers.

Because NYC public schools are already not bad enough, not safe enough, or maintained properly... Now, they fire teachers and support staff and do an even worse job so their results can be even worse (if thats possible). How many more kids will now just drop out and join gangs or the welfare baby mama class?

Back in the seventies many NE schools were hiring ESL teachers. Absolutely no teaching was done. Babysitting and nothing else. Paid well by feds . Fast forward and now we have Nazi power mongers hired already indoctrinated “teachers” for our kids. Bet it will also be Federal money.

Substitutes are also needed all the time when a unionized teacher decides they need a 3-day weekend or just can't get out of bed. They will quickly run out of substitutes.

Not gonna happen. Substitute teachers, like contract computer programmers, are far more independent than those who like to sit behind the same desk every day and belong to a union. Very few of them will have had the shot. New York students are out of luck but then living in New York puts them way down on the survival ladder anyway.

#4, this is the second time (that I have seen) you have mentioned “inoculation,” in connection with the Covid vaccines. The mRNA technology is not an inoculation. It is a specific set of instructions to your DNA to produce proteins that, theoretically, then will fight off the virus. The only vaccine that could be considered an inoculation is the J&J, but even then, there is no Covid virus in that shot. It is merely an adenovirus.

This is not somebody attacking our schools,” Kolbye said at a press conference. “This was a student, they got into a fight, and drew a weapon,” he added. Three glistening new buildings in downtown Seattle with 165 studio apartments — originally to be rented at market rates — will instead house the homeless. The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is buying the buildings with taxpayer dollars for about $50 million, with federal COVID-19 relief funds splitting the cost equally. Seattle City Hall is contributing about $25 million, while also using “American Rescue Plan Act” funds. A large portion comes from Washington State’s Department of Commerce. Left-wing Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, so unpopular she can’t run for re-election, claims the deals will house people quickly and cheaply, compared to the time and cost required to develop similar projects from scratch.

One of the implied promises behind the Democrats’ endless (and escalating) efforts to destroy the Second Amendment and disarm Americans is the promise that murder will become a thing of the past—and, if not all murders, at least mass murders, involving more than one victim. However, in Florida, one man managed to kill three people with a baseball bat and a knife, as well as seriously injured another victim. The problem wasn’t the weapons; it was that a man angry after a fight with his supervisor started killing innocents with the weapons he had at hand. If you look at the picture of Shaun Runyon
