Mayorkas was trying to deal with a lot of fall-out. The Biden Administration finally caught a lot of flak — not only for having thousands of illegal aliens congregating under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas, immediately after crossing the border. But they got even more flak for the false story that the Border Patrol whipped migrants trying to enter, while on horseback. The Hill reported that two Democrat senators familiar with the bipartisan infrastructure bill voting talks in the House are expecting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to cancel Thursday’s scheduled vote due to not having enough votes.
The report noted that two senators, who are remaining anonymous, claim they are in contact with Democrat members in the House who believe there will not be enough votes since there are “at least two-dozen progressives planning to vote ‘no’ on infrastructure without a separate vote on a larger social spending package.”
“They will not pass it on Thursday.
On Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Radio’s “Guy Benson Show,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) stated that he would be “honored” to hire any Border Patrol agents who are fired or have to resign due to vaccine mandates from the Biden administration.
Host Guy Benson asked, “Would you hire fired Border Patrol agents on that issue, if they refuse to get vaccinated?”
Abbott said, “Absolutely. So, under Texas law, under the orders that I’ve established, no government agency in the state of Texas can impose a vaccine mandate. If there is any Border Patrol officer who gets fired or has to quit, whatever the case may be

Last night Virginina watched a debate between former Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe, who is trying for a second turn in office (Virginia has a single-term limit, but you are still eligible to run again after another governor serves), and Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin. Polls show it to be a close race.
I’ve never thought McAuliffe an especially talented politician, and he let fly with two howlers in the debate, captured in these two tweets: Yes—he really said both of these things. (Sorry Bill, old pal—you’re not the “leading conservative” in America any more; only in the Potemkin Village constructed in the minds of liberals.)
But there was one other more subtle point.
