Texas Governor Greg Abbot has praised officials for using 'unprecedented' methods to prevent more Haitian migrants from entering U.S. by creating a 'steel barrier' of hundreds of vehicles at the border. Abbott visited the U.S.-Mexican border on Tuesday and praised DPS and Texas National Guard for creating the barrier from of hundreds of state-owned vehicles, almost all of which appear to be bulky SUVs. They are lined up outside Del Rio in Texas, which has seen an influx of 14,600 migrants who crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico into the US.(Snip)'They have created a steel barrier preventing people from being able to cross the border,'

If you’ve ever driven across Texas, you know they have lots of state troopers.
This really amused me when we saw it on TV. Between the troopers’ taking Fox reporter Melugin up in their helicopter to view/film the growing migrant crisis when Biden’s FAA shut down Fox’s harmless drone to this! Field expediency!!! Whatever gets it done!

Now make a one-way funnel and herd them back out.

They're letting them wage across the river. Once a foot touches US soil, they're in. How about firing rounds into the water halfway? A flamethrower, a firehose? Nothing; they waltz right in, but there's a row of SUV, parked side to side, and that's a wall of steel. Yes, Americans are this stupid.

Why is Texas the problem area? Do New Mexico and Arizona have a completed border wall? Asking seriously.

#4, it's Texas, nobody has ever had to learn how to parallel park!

At what point is deadly force the correct way to stop this invasion?

A steel wall...who writes this stuff, Dr. Goebbels? We got 15,000 Haitians trapped, surrounded in Del Rio. Will they escape back to Mexico, be incarcerated, or advance on Berlin...er, Austin and parts east and north? Don't mess with Texas...it does a fine job on its own. Time to identify those who are acting as the "coyotes" bringing the Haitians to Del Rio...and prosecute.

# 4 - I know that was the rule with the Cubans were coming here illegally. There were so many that finally the one foot deal was enacted. But I thought I'd read that only applied to the Cuban situation. I hope it's not for the Haitians, too. I hate illegals pouring in here as much as anyone but what these people are dealing with is outrageous. They are humans and they most likely have no idea why they are here to begin with. Notice that almost every picture had a child in it. What a mess.

#11, if they are 'humans' as sentient beings, you know damn well why they're here. Economical betterment at the expense of the host country's citizenry has never been a reason for refugee status.
There was an article posted à day or two ago about China's working class who have the expression, 'Lying Flat'. They learn to only earn enough to survive for themselves and their families. It sucks, but you're not working your azz off for some Haitian or Afghan invader.

It’s about time! The only thing better would be 100,000 armed Texans daring anyone to cross the Rio Grande.

Yes OP, its basically battling photo ops. One thing this shows is that IF we had ever been serious about a true genuine secure Texas-Mexico border, it could have bern done a long time ago. Also, this is for those who said Abbott could not do anything. Nothing gets him going like Colonel West’s poll numbers going up, right Governor?

Gov Abbott has no more Constitutional authority than the O.P., citizen Trump, or others replying on this thread relative to stopping illegals from crossing the Rio Grande, our nation's southern international border adjacent to Texas. I think what Abbott is trying to do is to keep the reality of the effect of Biden's policies, including his disregard of immigration law currently on the books, in front of the public in the hopes that Americans will rise up and not tolerate how their DC betters are jeopardizing their lives and their family's well being, not to mention our national security and sovereignty. That it is not working is very much a matter of looking in the mirror, especially the hyper-critical blue-city Texans.
Re: #6 - Good question. I'm not sure it's wall related but I think it may be that NM is already a Blue state and AZ is purple at best. It's Texas that must be transformed through invasion to keep democrats in power.

The problem with Texas finishing the Trump wall construction is that Trump's wall is on the Federal right-of-way along the border. The Bite-Me administration has already forbidden Texas from extending construction on federal land so the Texas wall has to be on Texas soil. Obviously there will be gaps that have to be monitored until the walls can be linked. That will be after 2022 or 2024 fir sure.

I live in Ohio. I put up with Mike Dewine. (Govenor) I'm used to incompetence and mediocrity. What baffles me is this Texas govenor can for the last 8 months whine about Biden's open border policy while he does nothing. By March he should have mobilized the entire Texas national guard. Put them on his southern border sholder to sholder in strategic locations with guns pointing south. Nothing happened until today when he's parking police cars as a deterrent. Tucker will interview Col. West, running to defeat Abbot, who advocates mobilizing the national guard. Coincidence?

14,600 migrants crossed from Mexico into the US.
8,600 remained in the town as of Tuesday night.
1,083 so far deported back to Haiti.
Do the math: 14,600 - 8,600 - 1,083 = 4,917 on buses to a town near you.

They must have a lot of cars. How about arresting them on sight and deporting them yourself, Mr. Governor? USA is taking their names and releasing them into your state, and we get a silly photo op.
