WASHINGTON – Progressive lawmakers will introduce legislation this week that will give the Department of Health and Human Services the authority to create federal eviction moratoriums – pushing back against a recent decision by the Supreme Court that ruled the agency did not have the authority to do so. The introduction of the legislation, sponsored by Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., comes weeks after the high court blocked the Biden administration's eviction moratorium, ruling the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not have authority to impose the freeze. The CDC is one of the arms of HHS.

Why is bad behavior being rewarded?
What about the people who have continuously paid their rent?
The feeling that comes with being financially solvent is priceless!

I would support Bush and Warren in what they want to do on one condition: that Congress drop the titles “Representative” and “Senator” and adopt the title “Comrade Commissar.”

All those landlords who aren’t receiving their tenants’ monthly checks should just shut off the water and power to their units. Then see how long the deadbeats hang around. They won’t need to be evicted - they will leave on their own. That’s called “consequences”.

These are Enabling Acts. All Fascists use them to empower themselves through "legal" means. So, it's all good, right?

Time to sell all your rental properties, especially with property values at an all time high. Get ready for the collapse that is coming soon.

Of course, any rental property owned by Democrat members of Congress will be exempt from this act. If you live there, expect to pay up now or get tossed in the street. Maybe that's why Nancy Pelosi is opening satellite offices of the Capitol Police ... so they can toss out unpaid renters.

Every time I hear Elizabeth Warren's name I immediately think of the silly word game we played as kids, which happens to describe her perfectly. Just say "Squash It" really fast several times.

I bet she doesn't have any rental properties. Who is supposed to pay for the landlords taxes, repairs and mortgage while these tenants squat there for months?

#11 This is what the Commies/Left want landlords to do---sell their property. The problem with that is
l. Landlord doesn't get a streaming monthly income.
2. Big Corporations and/or govt. buy up properties and the U.S. becomes a land of renters obligated to ta dah! Big Government! This has been planned right out of the Communist Manifesto! Destroy private property ownership, make property owned by government.

Amendment V
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Not one government employee has lost a paycheck do to covid restrictions, ESPECIALLY members of Congress. I know it's wishful thinking, but they should stop their own checks when they stop someone else's.

Well the millions of illegal aliens who Biden intends to allow into the USA for the remainder of his term, who are mostly all poor and uneducated, need someplace to live, and since most will be unable to pay their rents, the Democrats cannot go along with them being evicted from their rented abodes before they are fully indoctrinated into becoming leftist and socialist Democrat voters in the years ahead. So to the leftist and socialist Democrats permanent moratoriums prohibiting landlords from evicting mostly all sure leftist and socialist Democrat voters is the way to go. Surely there will be some RINOS, who are actually Democrats in disguise who will go along.

Then they should place a moratorium on the payment to the mortgage that the landlords have to pay.

Sounds like something out of the Marx-Engels playbook. The number of rental units would plunge as no one wants to get stuck with deadbeat tenants who have the Federal government on their side.
