High Noonan

In “Joe Biden displays his wisdom,” Paul Mirengoff draws on Peggy Noonan’s current Wall Street Journal column for its insight into the failings of President Biden. I thought it was a good Noonan column and true even if it was Noonan speaking, but late and therefore hurried. Noonan is in a rush to make it clear she sees what everybody else has seen over the past few weeks. Noonan doesn’t mention her support for Biden in her September 2020 Wall Street Journal column when the choice was between Biden and Trump. Conrad Black observed that Noonan had gone full metal-jacket for Biden. Black’s column has stood the test of time.

Perfect, #2. Krystol didn't catch it until Trump came along; Noonan got all weirded out shortly after 9/11. I thought about her while reading Shari Forst's story a few says ago: "Liberalism in the Rear View Mirror." Whereas Forst saw 9/11 for what it was - an attack on America by some very bad outsiders - Noonan (who once wrote speeches for Reagan) promptly started blaming W and Republicans in general for an apocalyptic event that was planned during the late nineties. Her mental collapse then accelerated when Trump arrived on the scene and it's as if his Presidency justified her psychosis.

During Fox’s early days Noonan was a fixture. BillO’Riley, Hannityand Colmes, and all the rest. I paid attention to her at first because she was a speechwriter for my hero Reagan but soon decided she was a shallow-minded prima Donna. After 9/11 one of those shows had her on and she was so bombed with something, booze or drugs, she could barely hold her head up. Her conversation was slurred and garbled, her eyes were glassy, she was a roadside wreck. Since then I haven’t paid her any mind. She was stupid enough to expose herself on national television in that condition so I have no respect for ANY of her attitudes or opinions. And everyone is right, she picks the side that will get her the most approval and party invites from her social group. What a do-lally.

Information suggesting that Chinese spy balloons traveled over the continental United States during the Trump administration was "discovered after" former President Donald Trump left office, a senior administration official told Fox News. A defense official on Saturday said Chinese spy balloons briefly traveled over the United States at least three times during the Trump administration. Trump and a number of his top national security and defense officials refuted the claim, telling Fox News Digital that it "never happened." But on Sunday, a senior administration official told Fox News Digital that "U.S. intelligence, not the Biden administration" assesses that "PRC (People's Republic of China) government surveillance balloons transited the continental U.S. briefly

Democrats and their cohorts in the media are quickly coming to Joe Biden’s aid as critics say Biden didn’t handle the Chinese spy balloon incident well. The spy balloon flying across America can easily be thought of as a test of Biden’s inclination to use force against Chinese intrusion. At first, the Biden administration and the Pentagon remained silent about the appearance of the balloon. Then a local news organization in Montana reported on it as it hovered over Billings. The word quickly spread to news outlets across the country. When would Americans have known about the story of a Montana news organization that had not reported on it?

Four in 10 Americans say they've gotten worse off financially since Joe Biden became president, the most in ABC News/Washington Post polls dating back 37 years. Political fallout includes poor performance ratings for Biden and a tight hypothetical Biden/Trump rematch next year. Given disaffection with both leaders, a rerun of the 2020 presidential election is hardly enticing: Nearly six in 10 Democratic-aligned adults don't want to see Biden nominated again for the job, and half on the Republican side would rather not see Donald Trump as their party's nominee. If those were the choices and the election were today, the poll suggests it could be close: Among all adults, 48

“What did the president know, and when did he know it?” That was the question asked of Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal of the 1970s. The presumption, of course, was that the 37th president knew more about the scandalous activities than he was letting on. And, of course, Nixon was ultimately forced out of office because of Watergate. Today, I’d like to ask the same question of Joe Biden about the China Spy Balloon-gate scandal. Of course, the matter of the Chinese spy balloon is lot more serious than the Watergate break-in because it potentially affects the safety and well-being of 335 million Americans.

Washington - The U.S. military on Saturday shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon off the Carolina coast after it traversed sensitive military sites across North America. China insisted the flyover was an accident involving a civilian aircraft and threatened repercussions. President Joe Biden issued the order but had wanted the balloon downed even earlier, on Wednesday. He was advised that the best time for the operation would be when it was over water, U.S. officials said. Military officials determined that bringing it down over land from an altitude of 60,000 feet would pose an undue risk to people on the ground. China responded

Washington - The Biden administration is moving forward with a plan to shoot down a large Chinese balloon suspected of conducting surveillance on the U.S. military, by bringing it down once it is above the Atlantic Ocean where the remnants could potentially be recovered, according to two U.S. officials. The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive operation, said President Joe Biden had given the go-ahead. In a brief remark Saturday in response to a reporter’s question about the balloon, Biden said: “We’re going to take care of it.” The balloon was spotted Saturday morning over the Carolinas as it approached the Atlantic coast.
