The Taliban have seized an air force worth tens of millions of pounds, including US-bought helicopters and attack planes, giving them more aerial firepower than many Nato members. Over the last few months, the jihadists have captured 10 major airfields from Bagram to Mazar-i-Sharif, and today took to the skies in a $6 million Black Hawk helicopter in their fight against the resistance in the Panjshir Valley.Taliban chiefs are reported to have ordered their troops to hunt down pilots from the disbanded Afghan Air Force, who received expensive training from the US and its allies to fly high-tech warplanes and choppers.

As much of a bunch of paper tiges as many NATO nations are, I seriously doubt that the DM is even close to correct on this headline.

Heck, much of that bounty is probably now in the hands and location of Chinese, Russian, Iranian and Pakistani military and intelligence agencies.
Maybe we need to install a remote controlled detonator on these things so next time Biden leaves a bunch of stuff behind, somebody can blow them to smithereens.

I doubt that the Taliban AF will last very long with lack of maintenance and spare parts.

Not that I believe them.

USA provided maintenance training and no doubt left a huge stockpile of spare parts for our great allies, the Afghani defense forces, which, as was thought would happen, is now the Taliban. And they probably do have great air power because unlike nations such as Broke Britain, which can afford neither weapons nor parts, these aircraft were maintained on our dime, using printed money.

Well according to the Pentagon, we disabled everything before we left, and none of it works. Vice was reporting that tripe last night.
Funny how I saw a non-functional UH-60A with a corpse dangling from it flying over Afghanistan. Guess we can't believe our lying eyes.

Oh they'll be able to get the spare parts easily enough. They make great ransom payments.

If we still have A-10 Warthogs, turn them loose and leave them with billions of $ worth of junk.

It's bad enough that we give money and weapons to those who want to kill us. On top of that, our government gives the finger to the taxpayers by not giving a damn how much material we leave in Afghanistan.

I can see the Taliban feeling frisky in the near future and testing a neighboring country. The problem may be solved for us. Without command and control, military equipment is next to useless.

It doesn't take much to destroy a jet turbine, so presumably GIs poured acid in the fuel tanks and drained oil and started them up (or whatever).
The A-29s are run by Elbit (Israeli) computers and targeting systems. I don't doubt they downloaded a nasty virus on them that caused them to explode.

I would say that the aircraft at the Kabul Airport were made to be unserviceable before US troops left. But that does not apply to all the other US arms and advanced military equipment, including apparently about 16 thousand advanced night vision devices, that are located all over Afghanistan outside of the Kabul Airport, and that are now in the hands of the Taliban, and maybe already in countries like China, Iran, Pakistan, and Russia. Unbelievably Biden is claiming that his retreat and surrender to the Taliban is a great success.

Ok Joey, as soon as YOU get all our folks out, these planes/helicopters/weapons seem like a great target for a bunch of cruise missiles.
In fact, use some nuclear ones, you know the ones that make everything so radioactive no one can touch them or they die?

Besides the deaths of our bravest and leaving Americans and our equipment, the brain dead liberals are praising Joe and still trying to hang the Jan. 6 people. I know Joe didn’t get 81 million voters, but he got too many ill-informed idiots.

I've had a "feeling" about all of this. It seems to me that there is more to Afghanistan than just the pullout. We GAVE the Tall-e-ban an arsenal of high tech, expensive weapons. I think that was "in the deal." As horrible as it has been in Kabul, there's an under lying reason. Think about all the burning and looting of cities in the USA. The Biden administration has done nothing to bring the thugs to justice. They just keep burning and looting. So, the same applies to Kabul. Oh we did a grand thing leaving Afghanistan. We left perfectly...a country with burning, looting, murdering, slaughtering it's people. I think this is a "precursor" to what will happen here now or later. We have once great cities that have been or will be turned into a third world country in the United States. Dems have no desire to fix. Just let them turn into Mogodishu or Kabul. What's the answer? How do we fix this, return to love of country, kindness to neighbors etc. Time's getting short.
