President Joe Biden said Tuesday that he took “responsibility” for his decisions on Afghanistan. As for any mistakes made — well, he offered plenty of potential culprits. The hundred-plus American citizens who didn’t make it out? They were notified 19 times “with multiple warnings and offers to help them leave Afghanistan, all the way back as far as March," he said, adding that most of them were dual citizens, anyway. The fall of Kabul, far earlier than most intelligence and military advisers predicted? Biden pointed the finger at the Afghan army

Democrat President Joe Biden claimed on Thursday that he visited the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, which was the site of a white supremacist terrorist attack that killed 11 people in 2018. “I remember spending time at the, you know, uh, going to, uh, the, uh, you know, the Tree of Life synagogue, speaking with them,” Biden said during remarks with Jewish leaders, later seeming to note that he was specifically talking about the attacks in Pittsburgh, which is where the synagogue is located.“Barb Feige, executive director of the Tree of Life, said that Biden did not visit the synagogue in the nearly three years since the anti-Semitic attack,”

President Trump said that his one-time close ally and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley can't decide how she feels about him. 'Every time she criticizes me, she uncriticizes me about 15 minutes later,' the former president told Vanity Fair. Haley, like a number of other Republicans, is rumored to be considering a 2024 run for the GOP nomination, but will have to wait until after Trump has decided if he is running. Meanwhile, Trump kept up his criticism of his vice president Mike Pence, saying that he shot any chance at the nomination by certifying the vote count in Congress in January.

Biden checked his watch while those 13 dead Americans were unloaded before him. One of Texas’ largest abortion clinics rushed to perform “67 abortions in 17 hours” ahead of a deadline that would effectively ban most abortions in the state after six weeks — the time a fetal heartbeat can be detected. The Texas law behind the new restrictions went into effect at 12 a.m. Wednesday morning, apparently prompting numerous women in the state to quickly get abortions when they may have been waiting to do so. The 19th News, a feminist news outlet started by two former Texas Tribune employees, reported the increased abortions at Whole Woman’s Health in Fort Worth, Texas,

The court's ruling shot down two lawsuits filed by Virginia residents who attempted to block removal of the 21-foot bronze equestrian sculpture on Monument Avenue in Richmond that shows Lee in military attire atop a 40-foot pedestal. It's removal will mark the 64th to be toppled since the George Floyd protests began in May 2020.
